casi ceniza de tinieblas;
hasta el total saberse consumido;
slo un pavor entre mi noche
levantando su voz de precipicio;
era una sombra que se destrozaba,
incierta en hmedas tinieblas
y engaosas palabras destruidas,
en la dolida playa de mi cuerpo;

Love is sea
You arrive, my love, when life offered me nothing
But a hard taste of slow consumption
Thinking of myself as an abandoned pain,
Almost ashes of darkness;
Then you arrive and shatter the night,
You ascend in my body
Like a warm beat towards the dying one
Who, alone, knows
That a mournig abysm holds him.
Without you, there was no-thing.
No dream transformed into life,
Nor the certainty that pushes us
To the total consumption of the self;
But a terror in my night
Rising its voice of precipice;
It was but a shattering shadow,Unsure in damped darkness
And tricky destroyed words,
Turned into blasphemies to the eyes
Not giving light nor shadow:
It was the fear of being but a tear.
But the world is reborn when I find you,
And the light is again
Ascending into the air
The smooth warmth of its breathing
Slowly erected;
Sprout from strength and rage
And froma a scent soft like foam,
Such a light memory
That suddenly turns into a wall of hardnessOr spring of shadow.
And in you my heart has no shape
Nor is it a circle of peace along with its sadness,
But a little fire,
The scream that flourishes in between the lips
And It finally turns out to be
A simple reflection of your body,
The crystal that an image of yours defies,
The dream that in your shadow is wiped out
Waves of light your voice, your breath and your lookAnd in the soar beach of my body;
Waves that within me get naked like wings,
Transformed into sound of foam, darkness, tender scent,
That when I feel by your nudity
Illuminates the shape of my body.
A sea of shadows you are, and in between your dark salt
There is a dawining world of light.

Bread, flowers and food: Earth

Candles: Fire
A glass of water and other beverages: Water
-The Picture of the person to whom the altar is dedicated and whose spirit we believewill visit us
-Sugar skulls are a reminder of death and life after death; they are a traditionalsort of candy and people usually give them as presents to their beloved ones.
-The scent of Copal and inciense Guides the spirits to their destination in this
world. It also purifies the atmosphere.
-It is believed that the personal and favorite objects of the person will help theirspirit throughout their journey from and back to the afterlife.
-Saltpurifies the spirit and keeps it from rotting. It is also the symbol of purity
The altar is a Mexican tradition full of symbolism and it is a manifestation of theMexican idea of death that, though tragic as it is, is not but something natural and
a part of life. Death does not inspire terror nor it means the end of life, but thecontinuation of life beyond. The altar is a way of celebrating
with Death for one night a year.
