Cálculo de ceros de funciones de Rn–> Rn :
Supongamos una función que asigna una n-tupla a una n-tupla, es decir:

Si las ecuaciones son lineales, el problema se puede solucionar con losprocedimientos usuales; por ejemplo, con la regla de Cramer si la matrizde los coeficientes es regular (es decir, si la solución existe y es única).
Cuando las ecuaciones no son todas lineales, vamos a ver unprocedimiento numérico, llamado método de Newton-Raphson, que nos va a permitir obtener soluciones numéricas aproximadas.
Método de Newton-Raphson: Este procedimiento se basa en la extensión del método de Newtonque vimos para funciones de R en R, para su aplicación en funciones deRn en Rn .
De la misma manera que en el método de Newton, en una dimensión, aproximábamos el comportamiento local de la función en un punto inicial adecuado, x0, truncando el desarrollo en la primera derivada:
