Estar is used with some prepositions to say where someone or something is in relation to someone or something else.

cerca de = close to
debajo de = underneath
delante de = in front of
detrás de = behind

Negative expressions:
No = not, do not, don’t
Nunca = never
Tampoco = Neither, not either
Nada = nothing
Nadie = nobody, no one
Can be placed before the verb or after.
If the negative expression is placed after the verb, place no before the verb.
Double negatives are okay in Spanish!
NEGATION
Nunca (never) and tampoco (neither or not either) can take the place of NO or can be added to the end of a sentence that already has NO.
No voy a la playa. I don’t go to the beach.
Nunca voy a la playa. I never go to the beach.
No voy a la playa nunca. I never go to the beach.
Tampoco voy a la piscina. I don’t go to the pool either.
No voy a la piscina tampoco. “ ”
NEGATION
Nada means nothing when it is the subject of the sentence.
Nada es fácil.
Nada está terminado.
Nada means not anything or nothing when it goes after the verb.
No quiero hacer nada hoy.
No almuerzo nada.
NEGATION
Use nadie to say nobody or not anybody.
Nadie quiere lavar los platos.
No voy al cine con nadie.
NEGATION
El gato nunca duerme debajo de la cama.
El gato no duerme nunca debajo de la cama.
Nadie arregla la sala.
No arregla nadie la sala.
Mi hermana nunca canta en el baño.
Mi hermana no canta nunca en el baño.
Yo tampoco canto en el baño.
Yo no canto en el baño tampoco.

Todos quieren hacer sus quehaceres hoy.
Nadie quiere hacer sus quehaceres hoy.
El gato siempre come el almuerzo.
El gato nunca come el almuerzo.
El gato no come nunca el almuerzo.
Cora necesita todo (everything) para la casa.
Cora no necesita nada para la casa.
MÁS PRÁCTICA
To say what you have to do, what your duties are, or whose turn it is to do something, use the verb tocar followed by an infinitive.
Tocar is conjugated just like gustar!!
