Perhaps it was the sloppiest the girls have played thus far, but the end result was the same—a decisive win against another conference team. “Without queson, the game was won at the defensive end as we held Alburne to just 27% shoong for the game”, said Coach Sanderson. He added that, “we weren't very sharp taking care of the basketball as we finished the game with more turnovers (23) than assists (17) for the first me this season”. But regardless, the girls held strong for a 46-28 win in front of a good sized crowd in Machovec. Senior Megan Wagaman had high scoring honors with 12 points, 9 boards and 6 assists. Sophomore Mikayla Nachazel added 10 points in a rivalry win that moves the girls to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The girls remain at home for a Calamus Wheatland match up before heading into the holiday break. The boys fell behind early and never were able to catch up to a pressing, running and scoring Alburne team that kept the O’s on their heels the enre game. With the loss on Friday, Springville falls to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference acon. Like the girls, the guys will host Calamus Wheatland on Tuesday before heading into the Holiday season. TELEVISED GAMES BRING A SPLIT TO MACHOVEC

Springville had its own little dose of Hollywood last Friday when Channel 9.2 was present to broadcast the games live. Perhaps it was the sloppiest the girls have played thus far, but the end result was the same—a decisive win against another conference team. “Without question, the game was won at the defensive end as we held Alburnett to just 27% shooting for the game”, said Coach Sanderson. He added that, “we weren't very sharp taking care of the basketball as we finished the game with more turnovers (23) than assists (17) for the first time this season”. The boys fell behind early and never were able to catch up to a pressing, running and scoring Alburnett team that kept the O’s on their heels the entire game. With the loss on Friday, Springville falls to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference action. Like the girls, the guys will host Calamus Wheatland on Tuesday before heading into the Holiday season. Girls tip off at 6:15—see you there!
