Abordaje terapéutico en el Virus de la Hepatitis C:¿Simeprevir o Sofosbuvir?
La prevalencia de personas infectadas con el Virus de la Hepatitis C (VHC)es de 140 millones en todo el mundo. La infección crónica además aumentala probabilidad de aparición de cirrosis y carcinoma hepático1. Existen variosgenotipos, de los cuales el 1 predomina en Europa y EEUU, seguido del 2 y 3.En África del Norte y Central es frecuente el 2 y 4, mientras que en Asia el 2 y6.
El VHC pertenece a la familia Flaviridae, posee un diámetro aproximadode 50nm y una sola cadena de ARN en sentido positivo (5´-3´). La expresióndel ARN viral conduce a la síntesis de una poliproteína que, por la acción devarias proteasas, da lugar a 10 proteínas maduras responsables de sureplicación en el interior del hepatocito. 2
