IGUAZU FALLS 

Foz de Iguazu is a big town in the state of Parana, Brazil. Foz is on theParana River near the border of Argentina, and Paraguay. The town ismodern and there are many hotels and restaurants. 

The famous Iguazu Falls are on the Iguazu River near Foz. They are verybeautiful. Tourists from many countries visit the falls. 

The Itaipu Dam is in Foz too. It’s on the Paraná River. It’s a veryimportant dam. 

The interesting stores are in Paraguay. There tourists buy whisky, videosets, radios, perfume, etc.

CATARATAS DEL IGUAZÚ 

Foz de Iguazú es una ciudad grande en el estado de Paraná, Brasil. Fozestá sobre el río Paraná cerca de la frontera de Argentina y Paraguay. Laciudad es moderna y hay muchos hoteles y restaurantes. 

Las famosas Cataratas del Iguazú se encuentran en el río cerca de Fozde Iguazú. Son muy bonitas. Turistas de muchos países visitan lascataratas. 

La Itaipu Dam es en Foz. Su sobre el río Paraná. Se 's una muyimportante presa . 

Las tiendas interesantes están en Paraguay. Allí los turistas comprar

whisky, video sistemas, radios, perfume, etc..

In most Latin American countries, children usually live with theirparents until they get married, and many times, even after marriage. It isvery common for grandparents to live with the whole family in the same

house. For many families, mealtimes are important times for socializing.Parents and children enjoy sharing, not only typical food but also talkingabout the events which happened during the day. It is customary not toleave the table until everyone finishes eating.

  Most North American children live with their parents at least untilthey finish high school. When they go to college, they live in thedormitories of the university, or they rent an apartment with some friends.Some, but not all, American families have dinner while they watch TV.They usually eat TV Dinners –frozen prepared dinners commonly eaten

while watching TV. Due to busywork and school schedules, very fewfamilies have a specific time when everyone can eat dinner together.When the family can’t eat dinner together, the time they spend sharingand socializing is usually very little.

En la mayoría de los países de América Latina, los niños generalmente

viven con sus padres hasta contraer matrimonio y muchas veces, inclusodespués del matrimonio. Es muy común para los abuelos a vivir con todala familia en la misma casa. Para muchas familias, las comidas sonmomentos importantes para socializar. Padres e hijos disfrutan decompartir, no sólo gastronomía pero también hablando de losacontecimientos que sucedieron durante el día. Es costumbre de no dejarla mesa hasta que todos termine de comer. 

América del norte más niños viven con sus padres al menos hasta queellos terminan la secundaria. Cuando van a la Universidad, que viven enlos dormitorios de la Universidad, o alquila un apartamento con unosamigos. Algunos, pero no todas, las familias estadounidenses tienencena mientras miran TV. Generalmente comen cenas de TV – congeladacenas preparados comúnmente comidos mientras mira TV. Debido ahorarios busywork y escuela, muy pocas familias tienen un tiempoespecífico cuando todo el mundo puede cenar juntos. Cuando la familiano puede cenar juntos, el tiempo que dedican a compartir y socializar esgeneralmente muy poco.

Julian works at a bookstore. First, his job is to unload boxes of books from thetruck. Then he opens the boxes. After that, Julian puts the books in different piles. One pile is for books that tell true stories or facts. These are called non-

fiction books. Another pile is for books that tell stories that are not true. Theseare called fiction books. 

Julian then puts the books on shelves in the bookstore. Putting books on shelves

is what Julian likes to do best at work. When Julian has free time at work, helikes to read through all of the books. His favorite books are the ones that telltrue stories about real people and their lives. 

On Sunday and Monday, Julian does not work at the book store. On these days,he stays at home. He uses this time to write stories about himself. Julian grew upin Peru. Now he lives in the United States. He works at the bookstore to pay forschool. Julian wants to be a teacher. One day, he hopes to turn his stories into a book. He hopes to see it at the bookstore

LECTURA 3: TRABAJO DE JULIAN TRABAJO DE JULIAN 

Julian trabaja en una librería. En primer lugar, su trabajo consiste en descargarcajas de libros de la camioneta. A continuación, abre las cajas. Ahora vive en los Estados Unidos. Trabaja en lalibrería para pagar la escuela. Julian quiere ser un maestro. Un día, espera

convertir sus historias en un libro. Espera a verlo en la librería
