uller Center Bike AdventureJersey, t-shirt, Brochure & PosterThe Fuller Center for HousingF
Objective:The Bike Adventure
raises awareness and
funds for the Fuller
Center by biking
across the country,
building houses and
speaking at churches.
Solution:
The riders requested
maximum visibility so I
used orange for the base
color of the jersey. A
map on the back helps
the riders explain the trip
during presentations.
The URL is easily visible
when in a riding position.
The tee is a simplified
version of the jersey
design for builds.
The brochure lays out
ways to get involved.
Because the intendedaudience is younger,
I used a slicker, more
energetic look than
in other Fuller Center
materials.
This customizeable
poster was placed in
churches and bike shops
before the event.

Solution:
The previous version
was similar but hadbeen livetraced from a
Photoshopped image
and was too garbled
to use. I built this from
scratch referencing
photos of bike gears.
Based on the Fuller
Center logo, I focused on
clean angles, proportions
and implied edges.
Hand-drawn character,
inked in illustrator for
screen-printing.
Based on a previous years
design but customized for
the new location.
Emblem and matching
lapel pin in celebration of
the anniversary.
Vector emblem created
to promote the event.

lobal Buildersbrochure & t-shirtThe Fuller Center for HousingG
Objective:Excite readers to sign
up for a Global Builders
trip to one of the
Fuller Centers partner
locations. Promote
countries from diverse
world regions equally.
Solution:
I created a world map
showing all partner
locations and graphed
the cost and duration of
trips to several countries.
I used stylistic referencesto vintage travel posters
and postcards for a
light, fun look. I did a
lot of enhancement on
many of the photos
(the Nigeria photo for
example) since we had
very few shots from
some of the locations
that had to be featured.

eb Slideswebsite componentThe Fuller Center for HousingW Objective:Create a set of graphicsfor a rotating display on
the Fuller Center home
page. Each links through
to a different page or
article. Four to ve are
cycling at any one time.
Solution:
I set up a Photoshop
template with a layout
for a photo, text and
a background. I used
layer effects to make
appearances that I
can edit very quickly
and efciently. I used
a simple color coding
(brown for merchandise,
blue for Global Builders, etc.) So that there would
always be an eye-
catching variety of color
from one slide to the
next. I found a method to
overlay textures without
time-consuming masking
so that I can quickly
create slides for new
stories on short notice.

tationary Conceptsproposed redesignThe Fuller Center for HousingS
Objective:Redesign the Fuller
Center stationary to an
attractive, inviting system.
Solution:
I created a set of vector
drawings of houses and
churches that could be
exibly combined to form
skylines in any space
desired. Flat elds of blueand white keep the look
clean and uncluttered.
I made a circular version
of the Fuller Center logo
and used it as a stamp
and as a watermark. A
dark blue ribbon wraps
around forms to contain
important information.

afe Campesino Advertisementscoffee menu, signage & bin cardsCafe CampesinoC
Objective:Help customers make
an informed decision
from the numerous
coffee blends available.
Highlight the cafes
commitment to high-
quality, fair-trade,
organic coffee. Show the
international origins of
the various coffees.
Solution:
On the menu card I used
simple icons to explain
the different roasts and
blends. I edited down the
descriptions to make it
easier to pick from the
large selection.
For this 8x30 sign I used
bold tropical colors to
draw attention to the three
keywords of the cafe.
This card, for
supermarket coffee
bins, briey describes
the blend and the
cooperative where itwas grown, giving the
customer a connection
to it. A globe highlights
the source location. I built
this into a Photoshop
template with a pack
of customized maps so
that the cafe could plug
in their own info for new
blends in the future

oinonia Farm 2010 Catalogselected pagesKoinonia FarmK
Objective:Koinonia is a Christian
community running a
sustainable farm.
Create a self-mailing
catalog for an older
audience, promoting the
hand-made quality of the
goods and in character
with the farms values.
Solution:
I worked with the farms
interns to arrange and
take hundreds of product
photos. I created adove icon based on
the farms old logo to
use for pagination and
created several vector
patterns based on quilts
for banners. I chose type
and laid out the pages
with an emphasis on
readability and bright,
friendly colors.

Koinonia(Greek forloving community) was founded in 1942to be a demonstration plot fortheKingdomof God,
sharing resources, work, and prayermuch like the example of earlyChristians in the Book of Acts.
Ourmost deeplyheld beliefs are drawn fromJesus' teachingspeacemaking, radical sharing, and brother/sisterhood among
people. In the 1950s and 60s,Koinoniawas ercelyreviled bymany forour racial integration and pacistbeliefs.Enduring

Koinoniais alsoa haven of down-to-earth theology.Founding memberClarence Jordan was afarmer and aGreek scholar.
He penned the Cotton PatchVersion intoSouth Georgiavernacular, seeking toplace scripture in the 'here and now' of
his day.His books and livelysermons are still beloved and well-known today.
Ourlife of service has taken various forms through the years. In the earlydays, we extended friendship toour neighbors,
mostlyBlack sharecroppers and tenantfarmers. Habitat forHumanitywas born here in 1968to help neighbors aord

Objective:
Create a slide for displayon advertising at-
screens in local cafes.
Must be memorable, but
read fast because the
display cycles relatively
quickly between ads.
Create a t-shirt design
that captures the fun and
energy of contra dancing.
A
B
Solution:
Variation in color,
typography and size
emphasize the important
text above decoration
that blends into the
background texture.
I drew a scene showing a
group of diverse people
dancing together in a
circle. This drawing wentthrough many iterations
before I settled on this
style and view. I used
different tones of just
two ink colors to keep
printing costs low while
helping to distinguish
one gure from another. I
included enough detail to
reward a longer viewing.

mbassador Fine Clothierslogo & stationaryclass: Type, The LetterA
Objective:Given a word at random,
imagine a company
identity (in this case a
ne menswear shop) and
design a suitable word-
mark. Next extend the
logo into a system
of stationary.
Solution:
I chose a hybrid of
black-letter and san-
serif roman forms for
their visual similaritiesto imagery found in
formal-wear such
as cuff links, pleats
and wing tip shoes.
I referenced several
different typefaces while
designing the custom
letter forms in this mark
with an emphasis on
rhythm and symmetry.

igawatt Candy Powderpackage designclass: package designG
Objective:Create a container that
captures the essence of
one concept; in this case
speed. Then, design its
markings to present a
theoretical product.
Solution:
I referenced hood
ornaments and high
speed vehicles to get
ideas for the shape and
contours of the package.
Opposing folds give
aggressive shape to
the surfaces and a ap
underneath, designed
to look like a jet intake
scoop, lifts the nose of
the container up at an
angle like an aircraft
taking off.
I designed the logo and
pattern of markings toaccentuate the impact of
the containers contours.
The logo also had to be
readable at a small size
because the package
lacked large display
surfaces. Since this
was to hold a food
product, I adhered a
foil pouch inside.

slandiaboard gameclass: collaborative processesI
Objective:Work in a group of ve
to create a board-game
from concept to nished,
packaged product.
Solution:
We based our strategy
game on the metaphor
of traveling by ship
to different islands
collecting goods. We
used a magnetic board
with hexagonal tiles to
create a game-space
thats different every time
you play and evolves as
the game progresses.
We wanted to keep the
visuals from getting toopirate-centered, so we
used visual references
to ancient Greek sea
voyages as well. My main
role in the group was
drawing all the line-art.
We were invited to present
Islandia in the National
Gaming Convention in
Las Angeles.
