Dear Brethren and Fr iends in Chr is t Je sus :News of the church in Zacatepec: On the fourth of May the wifeof brother Humbert Caldeross was baptized. For this we give God thanks

There are two more baptisms pending which are_the resu l t of confession of fai thmade during the revival held Easter week The only thing holding these twopeople back is the pressure from family and friends not to go through vaththeir baptisms e are praying and trusting in God that they will be baptizedsoo

e are receiving wonderful fruits from the revival held during Easter. The members of the church did a great job of evangelism and visitation. Peoplefrom distant places are now attending the services. Every Sunday morningI pick up 28 people (children, young people and adults). I have to maketwo t r ips These people l ive about 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the churchand there are no buses that run directly from there to the church. The busesthat do run do so on a very irregular schedule. For this reason, I startpicking up people every Sunday morning at 8;00 a mThis has caused us to do a l i t t le decentralizing of the church activitiesregarding the mid-week services. The main activity during the week continues

to be the Thursday night prayer meeting aii bible study n Saturday the youngpeople have their meetings e are now holding services on Tuesday in thehomes of the people who live a distance from the church n Friday we haveservices at the place where I go to pick up the people about 12 miles away. This place i s ca l l ed N icolas Bravo.

In Cuautla we continue to meet on Wednesday and on Sunday Al l cfthe members there go to the services at Zacatepec They made this decisionbecause they prefer having worship services in a church building rathert han i n t h e i r homes .

Three weeks ago I left the house to go to Zacatepec in my truck.Due to the warm weather I was traveling with the windows down. All of asudden window and struck me in my left eye causingsevere pain I stoppedfor~TlFew m:Mfes Tdngere--drf--ttre--pain-would let up-_and I could go on, but I had to return to the house almost blind becauseboth eyes were f i l led with tears. I went to the doctor and he found thata small piece of metal had scratched my eyeball. Three weeks have passedand my eye is st i l l not completely well I ve had to adjixst to drivingwith one eye. Please pray for rnc

    Sister Maria Elena Pulido is s t i l l very i l l so please pray forh e r a l s o

As I mentioned in th e last let ter a young lady from the churchin Zacatepec and a doctor and his fatnily from th e church in Cuautla willbe going to Colegio Biblico to prepare themselves and retu rn to work inthe Lord s vineyard. Please pray for them.

    D e a r F r i e n d s :

I send you greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, asking od tosend His b l e s s i n g s on you.

    are well for which we give God thanks. Only our son, Efren,has been a l i t t l e sick. He cut his le^ on a piece of glass and had tohave s t i t c h e s to close the wound. y eye is completely well now, forwhich I a l s o give God thanks .

    In my l a s t l e t t e r I mentioned a plan of evangelism that wewanted to put into action during the month cf June. The plan consi stedof having services in the homes of the members that lived near the churcha s w e ll a s i n t h e homes o f t k s e who l i v e d f a r t h e r away.

    were able to carry out the f i r s t part but not the second.The reason f o r t h i s was the heavy r a i n s caused the only bridge to thea r e a where t h o s e f a m i l i e s l i v e d t o f ll We c o u l d h a v e walked fromthe bridge to the houses, but it i s very very dangerous to leave carsalong the highway unattended. So, we decided i t would be b e t t e r toleave t h i s p a r t of the plan u n t i l the ra iny season passes.

    In the s e r v i c e s we held i n the homes the f i r s t week, onlyone new person at tended. The second week not one new person came,n o t e v e n t h e o n e who h a d came t h e week b e f o r e . The members w e r e ab i t discouraged. The t h i r d week we had s i x new people and the fourthweek the same s ix r et ur ned p lu s two more. Praise the Lord

    The 30th of June we begin our Vacation Bible School and itw i l l end on the 9th of July , Our son, Eduardo, J r . w i l l be thedirector of these a c t i v i t i e s . y wife and our daughter. Carmen, wil lbe teachers along with two other young l a d i from the church. 1*11be t he chauf feur and according to my figures, 1*11 hae to make four ^t r i p s to pick up th e c hi ld re n and four more t o take t h ^ home.

    I t looks l ike we are going to have baptism around the f i r s to f th e month o f J u ly .

    Friends, we thank you for a l l your help. Things don*talways work out the way they are planned. Some times the work doesn tbear f r u i t as one wishes , nor when one wislBs. But, I can t e l l youwith a l l honesty that God has done great things in t h i s place. Thechurch i s very young. I m under the impression t h a t it i s the youngestcongregation i n a l l of Mexico t h a t r e a l l y c o n s t i t u t e s a church.

    The members have learned t o give and t o t i t h e . They paya l l t h e i r b i l l s such as water , l i g h t s and construc t ion c o s t s . Wecontinue bui lding; t h e r e s a l o t y e t to be done. Butibecause o f thehigh cost of ma te ri al s, and |B|prices go up every month, we aremoving v ery s lowly .

    Please-continue to pray f o r t h i s place , fo r the members o ft h e c h u r c h a n d for u s .

For your infonration and to f^l^inwhy we have our baptiaiis in the country rather than in the church building, since the earthquake last year, we have had scrne large cra^s in the^walls _anSTJiluhe baptistry. Ifs not easy for us to get them repaired qui^ly.We ve had a lot of other experiences. This month we are sending to CoiegioBiblico in Eagle Pass, Texas, a young lady vrtio has b ^ a teacher in theSunday School for three years, and the church is paying her travel expenses. The JDeginning of July we started the Vacation Bible School. Wand our children Carmen and Lalo and two girls from the church, Irma Jiminezand Abigail Hagunes were the teachers. I was the director, the sweeper,

th e h au le r and t he c h au ff eu rThis time we had so many children that I had to ma ce several trips pickingthem up and then taking than back home again v^en the classes ended each day.As I mentioned, the vacation bible school I want to thank the groi^of ladies fron the church in Hugoton, Kansas for the box of colors and scissorsthey sent for the schools. Thank you very much ladies. As has been done every year, the members of the church took tiomspreparing the cold drinks and refreshments for the children. The secondSunday of the month we iiad a special thanksgiving service for the youngpeople who had graduatel from the different public schools. had severalyoung people that had finished different levels of their-schooling^r^ivJunior High through College. had one young lady who graduated as apublic school teacher

On the 14th of August, I l e f t to take Carmen Lalo, Sauland a g i r l from the church to Colegio Bibl ico . had a lo tof problems and l os t a lo t of time t rying to get a student Visafor th is g i r l . We ve had this one for six yearsand a s you know we bought it u s e d . It s a 1975 model . Whenwe l e f t home the truck had a minor problem with the steeringsystem. I t was not r e a l se^ ous but I wanted to get it fixedas soon as possible. I wanted to take advantage of our being atthe border to buy the parts since they are so much cheaperthere so I called the Middaughs in Riverton, I l l inois to explainthe problem. They sent 357.00 to bu y the steering gear boxwhich was the par t needed. But as I said, we we got to ColegioBiblico the truck quit running completely. After this, problemwas located and repaired the gasol ine pump went out then theignition went bad and had to be repaired. To make a l^n_g story ___short when aTl t h i s was paid for I d i d n t have enough l e f t tobu y the gear box for the steering system. NEWSLETTER FOR DECEMBER 1986Dear Brethren in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ,In the midst of the treraendous crisis through which ny country is passingw had a very enjoyable time worshipping the Lord during the Christmas andN e w ear season

The church in Cuautla and two churches in Cuernavaco were with us in ourservices at Zacatepec on Christmas day. The Christians here know thatnothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Rom 8:38-39)The congregation at Zacatepec served as host church for the specialservices because the other groups still don t have their buildin>sfinished. The visiting churches did provide their own food for the mealwe ate together. This was the largest attendance we ve ever had. Themembers of the Church at Zacatepec with their friends plus the three othervisiting groups made a really large crowd. This serves to show the othersin the community that the church is large and that w have a different wayo f w o r s h i p p i n g o u r Lord a t C h r i s t m a s .
