Steel Authority Of India Limited Largest steel making company in India An annual turnover of ₹ 51866 crore. One of the seven Maharatnas of the country's Central Public Sector Enterprises. SAIL traces its origin to the Hindustan Steel Limited (HSL) which was set up on 19 January 1954 Annual production of 13.5 million metric tons 24th largest steel producer in the world

Bhilai Steel Plant is located in Bhilai in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh a unit of Steel Authority of India Ltd. India's first and main producer of steel rails, as well as a major producer of wide steel plates and other steel products Inaugurated at 1959 in collaboration with USSR eleven-times winner of the Prime Minister's Trophy for best integrated steel plant in the country Sole supplier of the country's longest rail tracks, which measure 260 metres (850 ft) Annual production capacity of 3.153 MT of saleable steel Covers an area of about 36 sq.kms Total Rail track inside – 365 KM SAIL’s most profitable plant

Electrical Repair Shop
One of the key shop in the plant For the repairment and maintenance of electric motors installed in whole plant Around 40 thousand motors are installed in whole plant
Electrical Repair Shop consists of different sections like Receive and Issue Section, Assembly Section , Winding Section , Coil section , Testing Section etc. also Consists of Magnet and Transformer Repair shop main purpose of this shop is to repair the electric motors and after the reassembling , it is sent back to the respective shops.
Power System Department Main purpose of this section is to monitor , control and distribute Power to the whole plant Total of 280 MW load capacity in plant Seven Power system department to control electric power in plant Power is taken from three power plants i.e. PP1 , PP2 and PP3 . PP3 is a joint venture of SAIL and NTPC ( NHPCL ) Power is controlled using electric yards components
Plate Mill Plates of wide variety, in any required size, and strength, chemical and physical properties, can be produced here capacity to produce high pressure, boiler quality and high tensile steels Bhilai has the widest plate mill in the country, and it uses continuously cast slabs as input.

Bhilai Rails Bhilai is the sole supplier of the country's longest rail tracks of 260 meters Largest producer and leading rail maker of the world. Four and a half decades of experience in rail making. Produced over 15 million tones of rails; 2.7 lakh km in length. Indian Railways- World’s second largest rail company moves exclusively on Bhilai rails. Rails exported to 10 countries with exports to South Korea, New Zealand, Argentina, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Ghana, Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Blast Furnace type of metallurgical furnace used for smelting to produce industrial metals fuel, ores and flux (limestone) are continuously supplied through the top of the furnace a hot blast of air(sometimes with oxygen enrichment) is blown into the lower section of the furnace through a series of pipes
