We’d like to start by thanking you for being a part of the third annual Cabo marine Show and we sincerely hope our event has enhanced your stay in the Los Cabos area. We also hope you will plan to join us again next year for an even bigger and better event.
If this is your first visit to the Los Cabos area, you’ll soon discover that our state, Baja California Sur, has one of the highest standards of living in all of Mexico. It’s also eco-friendly, tourist friendly and very safe. Many Mexi-cans here speak excellent English and you won’t have any trouble being understood. But if you have trouble un-derstanding them, please refer to our “Cabo 101” section of this guide for some of the common terms used in our area. And for information on where to go and what to do, visit the adventure, shopping, dining and lodging pages of this Guide.

Cabo Marine Show 2012
The third annual Cabo Marine Show takes place on July 5th, 6th and 7th and is the only nautical event of its kind in western Mexico. The show opens each day at 10:00 AM and is free to the public. Our new venue and new lineup of exhibitors truly reflects a growing interest in Mexico’s nautical tourism market.
The 2012 Cabo Marine Show moves to a new location in front of the Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort and “breathtaking” is the only word to describe this year’s in-credible view of the marina’s L-Dock and Cabo’s famous Land’s End—the backdrop for this year’s show. The world class Cabo San Lucas Marina is a facility run and oper-ated by global leader in marina operations, Island Global Yachting (IGY).
A wide variety of exhibitors will be showcasing their prod-ucts on the marina boardwalk between Docks K and M and in the water at Dock L. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to talk with local and foreign experts from the sport fishing, boating and luxury yachting industries about what makes the Los Cabos area such a popular destination. Other exhibitors will provide information about living and traveling in Baja California Sur.
This year’s show includes free, live entertainment each night beginning at 7 pm in a spectacular, open-air set-ting on the marina boardwalk next to Cabo’s famous lighthouse restaurant and the Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort.

Este tercer Cabo Marine Show tiene lugar los días 5, 6 y 7 de julio del 2012 en la espectacular marina de Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, México. Es el único evento náutico de su clase en costas del Pacífico mexicano. La exposición abre sus puertas los tres días de 10:00 AM en adelante, con entrada libre el público en general.
Este año Cabo Marine Show estrena una ubicación frente al hotel Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort y el espectac-ular Muelle-L con sus lujosas embarcaciones de fondo. La marina de Cabo San Lucas cuenta con instalaciones de primer mundo y es operada por el líder en operaciones marinas, Island Global Yachting (IGY).
Una gran variedad de productos y servicios náuticos es-tarán en exhibición sobre la dársena de la marina entre los muelles K, L y M. Visitantes tendrán la oportunidad de dialogar con expertos locales y foráneos de la industria náutica en México. Otros expositores contarán con infor-mación del estilo de vida y viajes que ofrece Baja Califor-nia Sur.
Este importante evento ofrece además entretenimiento en vivo, sin costo, cada noche a partir de las 7:00 PM en con un montaje fresco y al aire libre, sobre el anda-dor de la marina, a un costado del famoso faro del hotel Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort.
No te pierdas de este importante acontecimiento de Los Cabos, ahora en su tercer año consecutivo.

Cabo 101/A Crash Course
Our local lingo uses many nicknames. Below you will find definitions for a few of the more common places in our destination:
Baja – Short for Baja California or “Lower California,” it refers to the entire peninsula, from the U.S. border in the north to Land’s End in the south.
Baja California Sur (BCS) – The southernmost of the two Mexican states on the Baja peninsula. BCS is Mexico’s newest state, joining the union in1974.
Cabo – “The Cape” – an affectionate term for Cabo San Lucas, also often referred to simply as “San Lucas”.
The Corridor – The area along the southern end of the peninsula that connects the cities of Cabo San Lucas on the west to San Jose del Cabo on the east. It includes a hotel strip, world-class golf courses and numerous gated residential developments.
East Cape – An area east of Los Cabos on the Sea of Cor-tez, where many retired U.S. citizens reside. One of the most popular areas is the town of Los Barriles, midway between San Jose and the state’s capital city of La Paz.
Land’s End – A tiny finger of land on the west side of Cabo San Lucas that separates the Sea of Cortez from the Pacific Ocean. It’s famously known as El Arco (or the Arch) for its arched rock formation and for Lover’s Beach, a beautiful strip of sand that touches both bodies of water.
Los Cabos – the twin capes of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, including its Corridor in between.
Sea of Cortez – Officially named the Gulf of California, this body of water separates mainland Mexico from the Baja Peninsula. It begins at Land’s End and continues east along the Corridor and then north along the penin-sula for more than 600 miles.
