After our graduation in September 2009 we began our careers that -far away from the classrooms- would find us by chance on the other side of the world by mid-2010. Back then, we witnessed - and accomplice - one of the largest manufacturing powers in the world, an experience that will certainly affect our perspective, not only from the standpoint of design, but from something that does not leave footprints on the matter: the human factor. In the spring of 2013 we meet again after three years and decided to conduct a joint project which soon adopt-ed the name CÁPITA. Partners in business now, Juan & Sofia undertake this company dedicated to the manufacture of a legitimate product, not only for their quality of materials and crafting, but for the intellectual work that lies behind the design process of these pieces. The study of proportion, the cuts, the selection of leather and special attention to detail are evident in every pair of boots & shoes born in our hands.Our products reflect our belief beyond matter. They put into words the silence of those who devote their talents to the creation of the best footwear ever crafted on Uruguayan soil. They are “la CĀPITA”, the proud workforce of our country: Uruguay.

We are committed to a single model of doing things: doing them from the heart and doing them well. We put into our work everything we believe in, driven by an authentic interest in a man that undertakes life to inspire, to grow; to transcend.

All of our products are handcrafted in Uruguay using local 100% real cow leather and leather soles. Every pair of CAPITA boots & shoes has a thick yet flexible leather outsole designed to preserve itself invariable to time. Insoles however, have been carefully adapted from lady’s fashion shoes so they can cushion the feet with twice the softness of a regular work boot, improving insulation and natural airflow. Each piece of leather is hand-picked from the best tanneries in the country and finished by hand. From material selection to manufacture, every detail has been thoughtfuly considered in order to achieve the perpetuous look of CĀPITA style.
