PRINCIPAL’S LETTER

To the Class of 2019:

Hey, Seniors, are you ready? Class of 2019, you are a special group. While there have been numerous changes over your four years, you have maintained the tradition of excellence at Woodrow. There are few certainties in life other than it will present you with adversity and opportunity. There is a fine line between the two, and they are often confused for one another. In response to the events of life, your choice is to be either resourceful or resilient.

As you continue your journey and life becomes increasingly complex, remember that “simple wins.”

“Simple” is being the best version you in every mo-ment of every day. It is understanding that you can-not control the events of the past, present, or future but that you have total control over your response. This discipline will help you to be better today than you were yesterday and to be better tomorrow than you are today.

Continue to take on challenges with massive confi-dence and minimal ego. Believe that you are capable but not entitled. Be grateful, be kind, and enjoy every experience you encounter. Remember that wherever life takes you, you will always be welcome at Woodrow. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.

Class of 2019, I am so proud to be your principal.

Go Wildcats!Michael Moran - Principal

LETTER FROM YOUR CLASS PRESIDENT

Class of 2019,

It has been a privilege to be your classmate these last 4 years. Our few years together have been unpredictable to say the least. From the great Woodrow fire of 2016 to 4 different principals in 4 years, we’ve seen it all.

I am writing this to you as a message of encouragement with a reminder of all the hopes and dreams you will fulfill in the future. Understandably, many of us are focusing on graduation, and everything that is going to change in a few months. So much of our life has been dedicated to education and learning, and now we are about to step into the real world. The next phase of our life is going to be filled with experiences and opportunities beyond what we can even imagine today.

There is no telling what the next years will hold, but for these next few months, look back on your experiences that have brought you to this point in your life. Cherish everyone who has helped you get where you are today, your parents, teachers, friends, coaches, and counselors.

In a few months we will walk the stage with our cap and gowns, ready to take on the next phase of our life. Remember, as C.S. Lewis said ““There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

I wish you the best of luck,

Your Senior Class President, Alexandra Brooks
