The 60th ARD Music Competition 2011 in Munich is openfor the following categories:

TrumpetPiano
Organ
The invitation to participate in this competition isextended to young musicians, who are ready to launch aninternational career.
The competition is open to musicians of all nationsborn between 1982 and 1994, for category organ bornbetween 1979 and 1994.
The competition will be conducted during the periodfrom August 29 to September 16, 2011 (including the prizewinners concerts).
The auditions are open to the public.
Deadline for registration: March 31, 2011

AdmissionOnce the selection has been made, the decision of thepre-selection jury, made up of members of the compe-tition jury along with the artistic director, on admission tothe competition will be released by June 15, 2011 atthe latest. Its decisions are final and incontestable. Noexplanations will be provided.
The chosen competitors will receive written notifi-cation of their selection. Competitors from abroad can, ifnecessary, use this confirmation to apply for an entry visa.
RecognitionofConditionsBy his or her signature on the application form, theparticipant acknowledges acceptance of the participationand competition conditions as well as the decision of thepre-selection jury and the competition jury as binding.There is no right of appeal.
Participation is only possible in one of the competition
categories.Applications that do not meet the requirements of the
competition can be rejected. Submitted documents andsound recordings cannot be returned.
ParticipationFeeFollowing receipt of the admission confirmation, theparticipation fee ofc 100 must be transferred free ofbank charges for the recipient at the latest by July 30,2011. Should the competitor be prevented from attending,or should he or she cancel his or her participation, thisparticipation fee cannot be refunded.

JuryThe jury will be selected from among personalitieswith international reputations without regard to ethnic,ideological, political or linguistic considerations.
The decisions of the jury cannot be contested.
CompetitionRounds
Four competition rounds are obligatory in the categoriesoboe, trumpet and piano, three competition rounds in thecategory organ.
The semi-finals for oboe, trumpet and piano willbe accompanied by the Munich Chamber Orchestrawithout conductor. A maximum of six instrumentalistsper category will be admitted to the semi-finals.
The final round will be accompanied by an orchestrawith conductor, the Mnchner Rundfunkorchester forthe trumpet category and the Symphonieorchester desBayerischen Rundfunks for the categories oboe, piano an dorgan.
A maximum of four semi-finalists, six in the category
organ, will be admitted to the final round.
FirstAuditionDateAll participants will receive notification of the scheduleddate and time of their first au dition along with theadmission to the competition in writing.
CompetitionProgramThe following repertoire lists and the conditions thereincontained are binding for the competition program.The competition program submitted by the competitorsis binding. Subsequent alterations are not permitted.
No works in the competition program may be repeatedexcept on the express wish of the jury. The sequence of
performance is at the participants discretion. If possible,original text editions should be performed.
Participants will not be allowed to perform their owncompositions.
In certain cases, the jury may allow only selections ofindividual works to be performed in the first two com-petition rounds, or may select works from the submittedrepertoire.
PianoAccompanistsOfficial piano accompanists are available at no chargeto the competitors. Each competitor will receive at leasttwo rehearsals with the accompanist.
Participants may bring along their personal accom-panist at their own expense.

PresenceoftheParticipantattheCompetitionEach participant has to register personally at the centralcompetition office one day before the first audition andpresent his or her passport, ID card or officially recognizedbirth certificate, and should not leave Munich as longas he or she is an active participant in the competitionwithout the express approval of the competition
management (prize winners may first depart on Septem-ber 17, 2011). Each participant accepts the obligation toremain free of all professional obligations or concertsthroughout the duration of the competition.
AccommodationduringtheCompetitionFor the duration of the first round, reasonably pricedhotels will be recommended to the participants. Allcompetitors who reach the second round will be providedby the competition management with the cost ofaccommodation and meals from this point for the dura-tion of their further participation in the audition process.
This does not apply to piano accompanists or othercompanions.
All competitors who reach the semi-final will be guestsof the competition until the prize winners concerts.

AwardsCeremonyThe awards ceremony will take place during a festiveconcert.
Competitors will be expected to receive their awards inperson at the concert.
PrizeWinnersConcert
At the Prize Winners Concerts, chamber music worksand works for soloists with orchestral accompanimentwill be performed. The decision regarding the programand at which concert specific participants will appear willbe made by the competition management in conjunctionwith the jury and the music depar tment of BayerischerRundfunk.
Prize winners will receive no fee for their participationin the prize winners concerts.
MediaExploitationThe competition, including the Prize Winners Concertswill be recorded by Bayerischer Rundfunk and the record-ings will be made available for broadcast purposes (radioand television, including on-line) in whole or in part, fora live or later transmission. Other broadcasters at homeand abroad can broadcast these recordings including the
Prize Winners Concerts live or at a later time. Repeatbroadcasts of these programs (in whole or in part) arepossible.
The competition management reserves the right to useselections from the competitions and prize winnersconcerts on a CD and/or DVD, which will serve to pub-licize the participants and document the competition.Beyond this, the competition management reserves theright to release and distribute or permit the distribu-tion on its own or through third parties of contributionsto the competition in sound form, on analogue and/or digital sound or data media in any format or process,
either commercially or non-commercially. The declara-tion of understanding on the part of the prize winnersshall be considered given with the registration to par-ticipate in the competition: the same applies to transferof broadcast rights in keeping with the aforementionedconditions. The prize winners have no claim to additionalcompensation.
