El tema del Día Mundial de la Metrología 2015 es "Mediciones y Luz '. El tema fue elegido para alinearse con el Año Internacional de la Luz de la UNESCO y las tecnologías basadas en la luz 2015 (IYL 2015), una iniciativa global diseñada para resaltar la luz principal función y tecnologías ópticas juegan en nuestra vida cotidiana y su importancia para nuestro futuro y para el desarrollo sostenible de la sociedad en que vivimos. La Metrología juega un papel central que permite la aplicación de tecnologías basadas en la luz, y a su vez, la luz está en el corazón de muchos de los nuevos elementos más importantes de tecnologías de medición de vanguardia. El Día Mundial de la Metrología es una celebración anual en base a la firma de los representantes de diecisiete países de la Convención del Metro el 20 de mayo de 1875. La Convención establece el marco para la colaboración mundial en la ciencia de la medición y en sus aplicaciones industriales, comerciales y sociales. El objetivo original de la Convención del Metro - la uniformidad mundial de medición - sigue siendo tan importante hoy como lo fue en 1875. El proyecto del Día Mundial de la Metrología es realizado conjuntamente por el BIPM y la OIML, los diversos organismos e instituciones alrededor del mundo se unen con entusiasmo a esta celebración. The theme for World Metrology Day 2015 is ‘Measurements and Light’. The topic was chosen to align with the UNESCO International Year of Light and Light-based technologies 2015 (IYL 2015), a global initiative designed to highlight the key role light and optical technologies play in our daily lives and their importance for our future and for the sustainable development of the society we live in. Metrology plays a central role in enabling the application of light-based technologies, and in turn, light is at the heart of many of the most important new elements of leading-edge measurement technologies. World Metrology Day is an annual celebration of the signature by representatives of seventeen nations of the Metre Convention on 20 May 1875. The Convention set the framework for global collaboration in the science of measurement and in its industrial, commercial and societal applications. The original aim of the Metre Convention - the world-wide uniformity of measurement - remains as important today as it was in 1875. The World Metrology Day project is realized jointly by the BIPM and the OIML.
