Exams for students: DELE A1 and DELE A2/B1

• are given to students taking Spanish between the

ages of 11 and 17.

• are adjusted to fit the scope, contexts and situations of the students of this age group.

• consist of four parts: reading comprehension,

listening comprehension, written expression and

interaction, and oral expression and interaction.

• The DELE exams for students are

official Spanish diplomas offered by

the Cervantes Institute on behalf of

the Minister of Education, Culture,

and Sport of Spain.

• They are recognized

internationally and do not expire.

DELE A1 exam for students

The DELE A1 exam for students certifies the linguistic

competence necessary to understand and use common

everyday expressions and basic phrases in order to

meet immediate needs.

• It is an official diploma that corresponds with the

levels of the Common European Framework of

Reference for languages (CEFR).

• It evaluates and certifies the knowledge of the

student.

• The A1certification does not expire. • It motivates students between ages 11 to 17, as it

represents a challenge and recognizes their learning in

the initial stages of their studies.

1. Reading comprehension test (45 min).

2. Listening comprehension test (20 min).

3. Written expression and interaction test (25 min).

Break: 25 minutes

Total (written sections): 1 hour and 30 minutes + break

+ Oral expression and interaction test (10 min + 10 min of preparation).

It consists of four parts:

• It offers the student the possibility of obtaining a

DELE diploma in either the A2 or B1 levels,

depending on the results of the examination.

• It evaluates and certifies the level of

competency within the A2 or B1 levels according

to the Common European Framework of

Reference (CEFR), and the curriculum of the

Cervantes Institute.

• It is recognized internationally and does not expire.

• The exam has been adapted for students

between 11 and 17 years of age.

DELE A2/B1 exam for students

1. Reading comprehension test (50 min)

2. Listening comprehension test (30 min)

3. Written expression and interaction test (50 min)

Break: 30 minutes

Total (written sections): 2 hours and 10 minutes + break

+ Oral expression and interaction test (12 min + 12 min of

preparation)

DELE A2/B1 exam for students

It consists of 4 parts:

• This diploma certifies that the candidate is able to

understand sentences and frequently used expressions

related to areas of most relevance to him/her (basic

information about themselves, their family, shopping,

places of interest, activities, etc).

• To understand the main points of a clear standard

text on known issues in either situations of work,

study, or leisure.

• To function in most situations that may arise during traveling in an area where the language is spoken.

• To produce simple coherent texts on topics that are

familiar or that are of personal interest.

• To describe experiences, events, hopes, and

ambitions, and to briefly justify your opinions and

explain your plans.

Dates of enrollment for the DELE A1 and A2/B1 for students in 2016

DELE TEST ON May 20 2016 DELE TEST ON November 25 2016

•Period of enrollment: February 15 to April 13 for DELE test on May 20.

February 15 to October 19 for DELE test on Nov 25

•Documentation: 1) registration sheet

2) a photocopy of either ID, school ID,

passport or driver’s license

3) payment (cheque payable to the Instituto

Cervantes, cash or credit card)
