Ya comenzamos el segundo mes de este 2013 y con ello, dos8 Vallarta les trae los mejores eventos del mes anterior, en el puerto.Este mes, estuvimos en la inauguración del muelle en Playa “Los Muertos” en donde estuvo el Gobernador del Estado de Jalisco y el Presidente Municipal de Vallarta.Otro de los eventos, en el que estuvo presente la cámara de dos8, fue la Toma de Protesta de Ignacio Cadena como Presidente de los hoteleros del puerto.En esta ocasión, nos invitaron a una pasarela a beneficio de la Parroquia de Guadalupe y lo recaudado, será destinado a la reparación del techo del templo.En cuestión de teatro, estuvimos en las funciones de los Monólogos de la Vagina, en donde la sociedad de Vallarta se dio cita para disfrutar de esta gran obra.En eventos escolares, estuvimos tomando fotos en la Graduación de la UNIVA y en las clases abiertas de primara del Colegio Campoverde.Ya cada mes, nos invitan a más eventos y no podíamos fallar a la invitación de nuestro amigo Rolando Miravete, quien nos llamó para que asistiéramos a la Primera Reunión Anual del Grupo Skal.Y ¿qué les pareció la portada de este mes? Excelente ¿verdad? Gracias a la Familia Mendiola Garza, por ser parte ya de la historia de dos8 Vallarta.Como ven, dos8 ya está en los mejores eventos del puerto y así seguiremos para continuar en el gusto del público vallartense.Este mes de Febrero es el tradicional mes del Amor y de la Amistad, así es que a dar abrazos a nuestros seres queridos y aprovechar la fecha para decirles cuánto los queremosDisfruten de esta revista, como nosotros al hacerla y recuerden avisarnos de sus eventos y con mucho gusto las cámaras de dos8 estarán en su momento importante.

We already started the second month from this 2013, and therefore, dos8 Vallarta will bring better events than last month in the port.This month we were in the opening of Playa “ Los Muertos ” pier (Beach of the Dead’s Pier) where the Governor of Jalisco’s State and the Municipal President of Vallarta were here.Other of the events in which we were taking some photos was the one in which Ignacio Cadena accepted the oath as president of the hotel group in Vallarta.We were also invited to the catwalk in benefit of the Guadalupe’s Parish and the money gathered would be to repair the roof of the temple.Talking about theatre, we went to the performance of “Monólogos de la Vagina” (Monologue of the Vagina ) where the Vallarta society gathered to see this play.Talking about school events, we took photos at the Univa Prom Party and at the open classes in the elementary school at Campoverde School.Each month we are invited to more and more events. We could not be absent to the invitation of our friend Rolando Miravete, who wanted us to go to the First Annual Gathering of the Skal Group.And what do you think about our frontal page ? Excellent, isn’t it ? El cantautor colombiano Juanes, ofreció con gran éxito, un concierto en el Hard Rock Hotel de Nuevo Vallarta como parte de su gira Loud & Unplugged. El músico que por primera vez

pisó la Riviera Nayarit, dio un show lleno de energía y amor con muchos instrumentos musicales. Con esta gira, Juanes celebra la nominación en diciembre pasado, de su disco “Juanes MTV Unplugged” como mejor álbum de Pop Latino en los Premios Grammy. Este evento forma parte de los eventos que la cadena de hoteles está ofreciendo como parte de su concepto vacacional único de todo incluido, buscando una experiencia innovadora y siempre conectada con la música.

The singer and author Juanes offered successfully a concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in Nuevo Vallarta as part of their Loud & Unplugged Tour. It was the first time that the musician came to the Nayarit Riv-iera. He gave an outstanding show full of energy and love, with a lot of instruments. With this tour, Juanes celebrates the nomination of his disc “Juanes MTV Unplugged” as the best Latin Pop Album in Decem-ber during the Grammy Awards.

This event is part of a group of events that the hotel chain is offering as their unique vocational concept of ALL INCLUSIVE, trying to get an innovative experience and trying to be always connected to music.

El distinguido empresario, Ignacio Cadena Beraud, tomó protesta formal como Consejero Presidente

de la Asociación de Hoteles y Moteles de Puerto Vallarta para el periodo 2013-2014, en un evento realizado en el Hotel San Marino y con la hermosa vista del nuevo Muelle de Los Muertos. Al evento, asistieron diversas personali-dades vallartenses del ámbito turístico, empresarial y social, que dieron fe del mensaje de unión que hizo Ignacio Ca-dena para trabajar por Puerto Vallarta.

The outstanding entrepreneur, Ignacio Cadena Beraud accepted the oath as Advisor President of the Hotel and Motel Association of Puerto Vallarta. His term will be from 2013 to 2014. The acceptance event was at San Marino Hotel, where people could enjoy the beautiful view of the new pier at Playa Los Muertos ( The Beach of the Dead ). There were very important personalities from Vallarta and from the Touristic, business and social world to the event. They witnessed the message that Ignacio Cadena gave in which he addressed the use of team work.

Con el bello escenario de la bahía y mezclando una moderna arquitectura y la tradición y belleza de la zona, las autoridades locales y

estatales inauguraron el nuevo muelle en la Playa de Los Muertos, que fomentará la actividad turísti-ca y se convertirá en uno de los nuevos íconos de la ciudad.

En el acto estuvieron presentes el Presidente Mu-nicipal, Ramón Guerrero Martínez, el Gobernador del Estado, Emilio González Márquez y el Secre-tario de Turismo en Jalisco, Aurelio López Rocha, entre otras autoridades y personalidades del puerto. Para engalanar la inauguración, se real-izaron actividades en la misma zona como un gran espectáculo de juegos pirotécnicos, exhibición de la embarcación Marigalante y la Octava Zona Na-val, presentación del ballet folclórico Xiutla y para concluir con esta serie de actividades se presentó la Orquesta de Jazz.

Esta nueva obra, estuvo a cargo del arquitecto Jesús Torres Vega y cuenta con una superficie total de 665 metros cuadrados construidos, que brindan a este espacio un andador peatonal, plazoleta de ingreso, pasarela, mirador circular y embarcadero, contando con iluminación escénica y equipo urbano para el disfrute de los paseantes.

With the beautiful scenery of the bay and the mix-ture of modern architecture and the tradition and beauty of this zone, the local and state authorities inaugurated the new pier in the Playa de Los Muertos ( The Beach of the Dead ). This pier will encourage the touristic activity and will become one of the new icons of the city.

The Municipal President, Ramón Guerrero Martínez; the State Governor, Emilio González Márquez; and the Tourism Secretary of Jalisco, Aurelio López Rocha were there in the event among other authorities and personalities of the port. To make this event better and fancier, there were some activities at this place as some firework, the exhibition of the Marigalante Boat and the 8th Naval Zone, the performance of the Folk ballet of Xiutla and to close the event, the Jazz Orchestra played some music.

This new construction was made by the architect Jesus Torres Vega. It has a total surface of 665 square meters. This construction has a pedestrian walkway, a small square, a gangway, a circular vantage point and a pier, with scenic light and urban equipment so that the people can enjoy a nice walk there.

La obra de teatro Los Monólogos de la Va-gina, llegó a Vallarta

con su gira de despedida después de 12 años en cartelera. Esta puesta en escena, se presentó en dos funciones con muy buena asistencia, en el Teatro Vallarta el pasado 24 de enero, en el que los asistentes disfrutaron de esta divertida obra, escrita por la estadouni-dense Eve Ensler y que tiene como actrices a Rocío Banquells, Cynthia Klitbo y Raquel Garza.


The play “ Monologos de la Vagina ” ( Monologue of the Vagina ) came to Vallarta as their farewell tour after 12 years of being at stage. This play was shown in two performances and had very good audience. It was per-formed at Theater Vallarta on the last 24th of January. The audience enjoyed this hilarious play, written by Eve Ensler and in this case the actresses were Rocio Ban-quells, Cynthia Klitbo and Raquel Garza.

Luis Carlos, was born in Distrito Federal, and Veronica was born in Monterrey. They met each other while travelling on a Caribbean Cruise twenty years ago. Five years before meeting again and

starting a relation as boyfriend and girlfriend and then getting married.Nowadays Luca studies the second grade of the junior high school,

Luciano studies the sixth grade on the elementary school and Renata is in the preschool section. All of them are part of Campoverde School.

Luis Carlos and Veronica have always installed into their children values such as honesty, generosity, honour, responsibility, solidarity, and they have addressed the value of kindness and support to others. They advise the young couples to have good communication, to try to have details to each other, to respect each other’s space, to be tolerant by loving each other, etc. About our-nowadays-situation, they say that these are difficult times due to Mexico’s evolution even though the economy seems to be stuck. This makes the family value the things they have, makes them get together and try to help their children understand the value of the simplest things in the world and makes them be close to one another.

Mendiola Garza Family tries to eat together during the week, talk about their experiences, and check how their children are doing in class. As a couple, they talk about what they have been doing every single morning. On weekends, they try to plan some activities together, eat together somewhere, go to the movies, buy an ice-cream or at least walk together as a family including their pet, a dog named “ Biko.”

The advice they give their children is that they should never give up, that they need to fight for whatever they like and that, overall they should always try to help others because this will impact their lives positively. Likewise, they advise the young people to stop from being a hundred percent into the cybernetic world. They should get back to the simplest details, enjoy the beautiful landscapes, outside activities and work intensively, so that they can be successful in this globalized world.

Their opinion about Dos8 Magazine is, “We think that this is a magazine that shows genuine human qualities. We can see the energy and the effort that is given while making the magazine month by month. We can see the love and leadership that the Aguilar Valencia Brothers have for their magazine. Luis Carlos, originario del Distrito Federal y Verónica, de Monterrey, se conocieron en un crucero por el Caribe, hace 20 años; unos 5 años antes de reencontrarse, hacerse novios y casarse.

Actualmente, Luca estudia 2º de Secundaria, Luciano 6º de Primaria y Renata Preprimaria, todos felices en el Colegio Campoverde .

Luis Carlos y Verónica, tratan de inculcar a sus hijos valores como la honestidad, la generosidad, el honor, la responsabilidad, la solidaridad y mucho énfasis en la bondad, de hacer el bien al prójimo. Ellos aconsejan a las nuevas parejas que tengan la mejor comunicación, que día con día traten de conquistarse el uno al otro, que no dejen de ser detallistas, que respeten los espacios de cada uno, que practiquen constantemente la tolerancia basada en el amor. Sobre la situación actual, comentan que son tiempos difíciles, que México está en franca evolución, aunque ahora parezca muy estacionada la economía general. Esto, a su vez, hace que la familia valore mucho los privilegios simples que normalmente se dan por sentados; hace que convivan más, ayuda a que los hijos aprecien las cosas más elementales y los une mucho.

La familia Mendiola Garza, procura entre semana, comer juntos, platicar y revisar cómo van los hijos en sus clases y como pareja, platicar como les fue durante la mañana. Los fines de semana, tratan de planear alguna actividad, comer en algún lugar, ir al cine, por un helado o simplemente caminar en familia con todo y la mascota, su adorado perro “Biko”.

El consejo que les dan a sus hijos, es que nunca se den por vencidos, que luchen por lo más quieran y que siempre, por sobre todas las cosas, hagan el bien porque les repercutirá positivamente. Así mismo, aconsejan a los jóvenes, que no se pierdan dentro de los defectos del impersonal mundo cibernético, que regresen a los detalles orgánicos de la vida, que disfruten de las bellezas de nuestros paisajes, actividades al aire libre y que trabajen intensamente para emprender en éste mundo globalizado tan competido, que no se conformen.

La pareja formada por Luis Carlos Mendiola Lamas y Verónica Garza Chávez, se unió en matrimonio hace 15 años y procreó a Luca, quien actualmente tiene 13 años, Luciano, de 11 años y la más pequeña, Renata, de 6. Todos ellos son ahora, la feliz familia Mendiola Garza.

The couple formed by Luis Carlos Mendiola Lamas and Veronica Garza Chavez, got married 15 years ago and had three children. The oldest one is Luca, who is 13 years old. Luciano, 11 and the youngest, Renata, who is 6. They are all members of the Mendiola Garza Family.


En esta ocasión, invitamos a la Familia Mendiola Garza a salir en portada. Todo comenzó en un evento en el Colegio

Campoverde, el mes pasado, cuando nos pre-sentaron a Luis Carlos Mendiola y a su esposa y ahí conseguimos sus datos. Días después, nos comunicamos con ellos, para hacerles la invitación formal y ponernos de acuerdo. Dos semanas después, ya estábamos listos para comenzar a tomar las fotos. La cita fue a las 5 de la tarde, en casa de la familia. Teníamos dos cambios de ropa y el tiempo encima, ya que en esta época, el sol se mete muy temprano, pero afortunadamente todo salió excelente. Durante la sesión, se vivió un ambiente muy agradable. Aprovechamos el espacio para agradecer a todos los integran-tes de esta gran familia por permitirnos entrar a sus vidas y ser parte de la historia de dos8 Vallarta.

Fueron casi 3 horas de fotos y cambios de ropa, y el resultado es el que tienes en tus ma-nos, la portada excelente. Sobran las palabras para describir lo bien que nos la pasamos, checa las fotos de todo lo que sucedió en este backstage.

This time we wanted to invite the Mendiola Garza Family to be part of our front page. Everything started at an event in Campoverde School last month, where Luis Carlos Mendiola and wife were introduced to us. Then we got their data. Finally, we talked to them on the phone to invite them formally and to agree on what we were going to do.

Two weeks later we were ready to start the shoo-ting. We met at 5 o’clock at the family’s house.We had two different outfits to be worn by them, but the timing was not in favour. At this time of the year, the sun fades pretty early. Despite of this situation, everything went on well.

During the session, we had a very nice envi-ronment. By the way, we want to take advan-tage of this space to thank all the members of this family and for letting us be part of their lives and for them to be part of Dos8 Vallarta.

We spent almost three hour on the shooting and clothing changes. You have the results here in this magazi-ne. We are speechless to tell you how great was our time with them. Here is the backstage of what happened there.


Con la finalidad de que los papás y ma-más de Campoverde, comprendieran la manera como aprenden matemáti-

cas sus hijos, en la tercera semana de enero, se les invitó a una clase con la Miss del grupo, de su hijo e hija. De esta forma, papá y mamá se convirtieron por un momento en los alumnos, y tuvieron entonces la maravillosa oportunidad de entender cómo es que se aprende matemáticas en Campo-verde, a través de la utilización de material concreto y con un enfoque completamente orientado al desarrollo de competencias, en donde además, la alegría y el dinamismo son la tónica permanente en la clase. Así, papá y mamá pudieron tener un contacto muy importante con lo que es el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje de esta materia tan importante, y con sus hijos, que al final los despidieron con un detalle muy emotivo.

Having as an objective that the parents at Campoverde perfectly understand the way in which their children learn mathematics, the third week of January, all of them were invited to an open class with the teacher of their children. In this way, the parents turned, for a little time; into students, and they had the great opportunity to understand how mathematics is taught at Campoverde. They used specific material which is focused to the development of competences, plus the joy and dynamism that are part of the class. The parents had very important contact with the class and learning procedure, specially in this type of subject which is important. They were with their children who at the end of the class, they gave their parents a little, but emotive gift.

A day full of fun, food and music was the one we spent at the event “ A Taste of la Cruz ” which was organized by the Nayarit Riviera Marine and Friends of La Cruz ( the Cross ). Their aim was to make the people know that the businesses and restaurants of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle; make this magical place to be known as “ The Jewel of the Crown ” in the Nayarit Riviera.

El domingo 6 de enero, en la planta baja del centro comercial Galerías, se partió la tradicional Rosca de Reyes en presencia

de muchas familias y de por supuesto los tres Reyes Magos: Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar. Esta deliciosa rosca, fue elaborada por alumnos del Instituto Gastronómico Franco Mexicano y los asistentes al centro comercial pudieron disfrutar de una rebanada y de tomarse la foto del recuerdo con los Reyes Magos, que escucharon atentos las peti-ciones de los niños que habían hecho sus cartitas.

On January the 6th, at the ground floor of Galerias Mall, there was an event in which the King’s Cake ( Rosca de Reyes ) was shared. There were many families and of course the Three Kings: Melchor , Gaspar and Baltasar. This delicious piece of bread was prepared by the students of the Gastronomic Franco Mexican Institute and the people coming to the mall could enjoy a slice of it, and could also take a photo with the Three Kings. The Three kings were listening very attentively to the kids ́re-quests which were written down on their letters ahead of time.

Los empresarios de la industria turística y hotelera de Puerto Vallarta pertenecientes a SKAL, se reunieron en el Hotel Hilton para su primer evento del año, encabezados por su presidente,

Francisco Rangel, quien explicó que esta primera reunión sirvió para definir el plan anual en el que se hizo énfasis en la vinculación con autoridades y asociaciones turísticas para lograr el beneficio de la ciudad. Durante el evento, los miembros de SKAL disfrutaron de un coctel y posteriormente de un menú especial preparado por el Cheff Ulf Henriksson, que incluía Ceviche de langosta con mango, Capuchi-no de frijol con aire de chorizo, Huachinango a la talla acompañado de papa rostizada a la talla y arroz blanco, sorbete de limón con xtabentum, Costillar de cordero con costra de semillas con salsa de pimientos limón, acompañados de champiñones y espinacas al vino blanco, soufflé de patata y, para finalizar, pastelillo de chocola-te caliente servido con helado de vainilla.

Entre los asistentes, se encontraban los restauranteros Thiery Blouet, Bernard Guth, Heinze Reise y Ulf Hernrikson, y los hoteleros, Rolando Miravete del Hotel Hilton, Abel Santos de La Tranquila, Marcelo Alcaraz del Hotel Rosita y El Pescador, entre otros.

The businessmen of the touristic industry and hotel industry in Puerto Vallarta who are members of the SKAL Group got together at the Hilton Hotel to celebrate their first year. Their leader Francisco Rangel, explained that this first gathering help to define the annual plan in which there was emphasis in the link between the authorities and the touristic associations to benefit the city.During the event the members of the SKAL Group enjoyed a cocktail and then a delicious menu prepared by Cheff Ulf Henrik-sson. The menu was lobster ceviche with mango, cappuccino of beans and spicy sausage, red snapper accompanied with roast potato and white rice, lemon sherbet with xtabentum, lamb ribs with a crust of seeds and lemon and pepper sauce accompanied by mushrooms and spinach with white wine, potato soufflé and as dessert hot chocolate with vanilla ice cream.

Among the people who came to the event, we could see the restaurant men Blouet,Bernard Guth, Heinze Reise and Ulf Hernrikson, and the hotel men, Rolando Miravete, Hotel Hilton; Abel Santos, La Tranquila; Marcelo Alcaraz, Hotel Rosita and El Pescador, among others.

Una original pasarela, se llevó a cabo en el Grand Salón del Hotel Fiesta Americana,

que consistió en una Cena-Show a beneficio de la reparación del techo de la Parroquia de Guada-lupe. Durante el evento, se ofreció un desfile de modas de los años 50’s en el que algunas mode-los profesionales y señoras de sociedad, modelaron diseños del reconocido Armando Rodríguez. Al evento, asistieron alrededor de 120 personas, que disfrutaron de una cena deliciosa, integrada por crema de elote, pollo relleno de espinacas y torta de nuez.

The original catwalk that was held in the Grand Salon at Hotel Fiesta Americana consisted of a Dinner and Show in benefit of the repairing of the rood of the Parrish Guadalupe. During the event, there was a fashion show from the 50’s where some professional models and society ladies model some of the designs of a well-known designer, Armando Rodriguez. There were 120 people who enjoyed a delicious dinner which was corn cream, stuff chicken with spinach and nut cake.

Con el fin de recaudar fondos para el pago de servicios, manten-imiento y sueldos del personal

de la Biblioteca Los Mangos, el viernes 25 de enero se llevó a cabo la décimo tercera edición de la tradicional Subasta Anual, evento en el que participaron diversos artistas que donaron sus obras. Dentro del evento, se realizaron diferen-tes modalidades, como son la subasta en vivo, subasta silenciosa, precios fijos, así como rifas. La Biblioteca Los Mangos, es una Asociación Civil que se sostiene mediante donativos públicos y privados desde su construcción, por lo que no recibe subsidios de ningún nivel de go-bierno, además de que este recinto cul-tural cuenta con 27 mil volúmenes con los que ofrece servicios bibliotecarios y de información para todo público.

With the aim of gathering money for the payment of the service fees, main-tenance and wages of the staff of the Library Los Mangos, this past 25th of January was held the 13th edition of the traditional Annual Auction. In this event we could see the performance of various artist who donated their work. During the event, there were different types of auction, such as the one that is made live, or a silent one, fixed prices or raffles. The Library Los Mangos is a Civil Association which is supported by private and public donations since it was constructed. The government does not help it. This building has 27 thousand volumes so that the library people could help and give information to others.


En uno de los salones del Hotel Sheraton, se realizó el sábado 26 de enero, una misa y un acto académico en el que se hizo entre-

ga de 104 diplomas de licenciatura y maestría a egresados de la Universidad del Valle de Atemajac, quiénes fueron acompañados por familiares, amigos, docentes e invitados que asistieron a este importante evento. La ceremonia religiosa fue dirigida por el Presbítero Aurelio González Rosales, en representación del Rector del Sistema UNIVA, Presbítero Licenciado Francisco Ramírez Yáñez. Posteriormente, los alumnos recibieron en un acto académico sus diplomas de manos del Director de la UNIVA Campus Puerto Vallarta, Luis Ignacio Zúñiga, para después tomarse las tradicionales fotos del recuerdo.

This past 26th of January, there was a mass and an academic ceremony in one of the event rooms at the Sheraton Hotel, where 104 diplomas were handed in to the undergraduate and master degree students at the University of Valle de Atemajac ( UNIVA ). They were accompanied by their family members, friends, teachers and guests to celebrate with them this important event. The religious ceremony was directed by Priest Aurelio Gonzalez Rosales, as the chair manager representative of the UNIVA System; Priest Licenciado Francisco Ramirez Yañez. After the religious ceremony, the students received their diplomas from the Head Master of UNIVA Campus Puerto Vallarta; Luis Ignacio Zuñiga. To close the event, there were the tradi-tional photos, so that they can remember this incredible moment.
