Permeability will additionally be provided by a green corridor linkage north of Princess Marina Drive, which will cater for a range of species (e.g. bats and amphibians) with its combined tree line and SuDS (including ponds and swales). These areas will function as ecological corridors linking to the nearby Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) which is being specifically created and managed for protected and notable species. Hedgerow and tree line enhancement planting of native species will enhance the Parcel T boundary which is a known commuting and foraging corridor for bats. This will also provide nesting habitat for birds and provide enhanced habitat for hedgehogs, reptiles and amphibians. The grass verges are to be enhanced as woodland understorey and flower rich grassland where appropriate to benefit invertebrates and other species by association. The SuDS is to comprise a mix of wet, seasonally wet and dry habitat areas and incorporate a range of marginal and aquatic plants. Planting within the residential areas (verges, hedgerows and trees) will benefit urban associated species such as nesting birds, hedgehogs and some bat species.
