ENFERMEDADES RESPIRATORIAS RESPIRATORY DISEASES

The Hospital General Universitario de Alicante is the largest hospital in the province of Alicante and the second one in the Autonomous Community of Valencia, and is the reference hospital for multiple pathologies and diagnostic tests. The Divison of Thoracic Surgery is the reference division in the province for thoracic surgical pathology. The scope of the research conducted by our group on Respiratory Diseases unfolds essentially in the clinical setting (diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases), although as it concerns departments with a vast experience in training at the undergraduate and graduate levels, it also comprehends the field of education. Furthermore, the research conducted by the group is geared towards the application of its results in society in the form of new therapeutic, diagnostic and/or preventive tools. Both departments have extensive experience in clinical and research work, and have published multiple articles in prestigious journals.

OBJECTIVES

1. Improve the development of research in different areas in the field of respiratory diseases.

2. Strengthen the human resources of the research group on Respiratory Diseases.

3. Improve our connections to other research groups.

RESEARCH TOPICS

Our research group on respiratory diseases is led by the Coordinator of the Research Group on Respiratory Diseases (Dr Luis Hernández Blasco). The research group comprehends eleven research topics, each of them led by the following researchers:

TOPIC 1. Diseases of Pulmonary Circulation (PTE/PHT).Dr. Joan Gil Carbonell.

TOPIC 2. Sleep disorders.Dr. Eva María Rosillo Hernández, Dr Luis Hernández Blasco.

TOPIC 3. Pleural Pathology. Dr. Cleofé Fernández Aracil.

El Hospital General Universitario de Alicante es el hos-pital más grande de la provincia de Alicante y el 2º de la Comunidad Valenciana, siendo servicios de referencia para múltiples patologías y pruebas diagnósticas. El Servicio de Cirugía Torácica es el referente provincial para la patología quirúrgica torácica. La proyección de la investigación rea-lizada por nuestro grupo de Enfermedades Respiratorias reside en el ámbito eminentemente clínico (diagnóstico y tratamiento de las Enfermedades Respiratorias), aunque al ser servicios con amplia experiencia docente pre y postgra-duada su proyección también abarca el ámbito educativo. Además, la investigación que se lleva a cabo se encamina a revertir sus resultados en la sociedad en forma de nuevas herramientas terapéuticas, diagnósticas y/o preventivas. Ambos Servicios cuentan con una dilatada experiencia clí-nica e investigadora, con múltiples publicaciones en revistas de prestigio.

OBJETIVOS

1.Mejorar el desarrollo de la investigación en las diferen-tes líneas de investigación en Enfermedades Respirato-rias.

2.Fortalecer el equipo humano del grupo de investigación en Enfermedades Respiratorias.

3.Mejorar las alianzas con otros grupos de investigación.

LÍNEAS DE INVESTIGACIÓN

Nuestro grupo de investigación en Enfermedades Respi-ratorias está liderado por el Coordinador del grupo de inves-tigación en Enfermedades Respiratorias (Dr. Luis Hernández Blasco). El grupo de investigación está compuesto por 11 líneas de investigación, donde cada línea de investigación tiene los siguientes responsables:
