Azimut 77S is also extremely functional, light-filled, and spacious. The salon and dining area are an ex-plosion of natural light coming from the large lateral windows, the nearly three-metre wide glazed entry doors, the bow windshield, and most of all from the glazed roof. Eduardo Lastres, artista plástico, se sitúa en el ámbito cultural de la ciudad y pro-vincia de Alicante con diferentes trabajos de escultura situados en sus plazas públicas. Una de las más representativas de su última producción es la Puerta

del Aire. Además de su faceta escultórica pública desarrolla las diferentes vertientes del arte contemporáneo, desde la pintura, el grabado, la fotografía, cuyas obras for-man parte de las instituciones alicantinas de la Cultura: Diputación, MUBAG, MUA, Ayuntamiento de Alicante, el Instituto de Cultura Gil Albert, Generalitat Valenciana, CAM, etc.

Ha realizado más de 50 exposiciones individuales en España e Italia. Aunque en el conjunto nacional su obra escultórica figura en el espacio urbano de Cuenca, Mur-cia, Cáceres, Madrid, Valencia, Ciudad Real.... este artista multidisciplinar se dedica también a la gestión cultural, con el comisariado de exposiciones como Territorios Indefinidos, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Elche; Poesías en el muro, homenaje a Miguel Hernández, Universidad de Alicante; Emilio Varela, pintor universal para el Consorcio de Museos de la Generalitat valenciana; La voluntad abstracta de Pérez Pizarro, también con el Consorcio y el ciclo Arte Último 21 días, para el Ayuntamiento de Alicante, Concejalía de Cultura.

Además ha realizado ensayos sobre Varela y la crítica de arte desde 2004 hasta hoy en el diario La Verdad. Ha publicado su primer libro de poesía Los otros haikus, Edi-torial Pastorius. Prepara, en la actualidad, un ensayo sobre Jackson Pollock y un se-gundo libro de poesía, aparte de futuras exposiciones en Alicante, Madrid y Valencia.

El Campello

El Campello es un lugar privilegiado. Ubicado en el corazón de la Costa Blanca, a un paso de sus principales urbes, tan sólo a 10 kilómetros de Alicante y a 30 de Benidorm, es un pueblo con hondo sabor marinero que ha sabido transformarse, sin perder sus raíces, en un municipio turístico de primer orden.

Sus 23 kilómetros de costa, la de mayor extensión de la provincia de Alicante, son un oasis para los sentidos. El Campello is a privileged location. Located in the heart of the Costa Blanca, just a stone’s throw from its major cities, just 10 kilometres from Alicante and 30 from Benidorm, it is a traditional fishing village which has known how to transform itself, without losing its roots, in to a first rate tourist town.

Sommigen zeggen dat het kan voortvloeien uit de Russische bystro (быстро), “snel”. Volgens een urban legend, het aangaan van de Franse taal tijdens de Russische bezetting van Parijs in 1815. Russische offi-cieren ofkozakken die wilden snel worden geserveerd zou schreeu-wen “ bystro”. Echter, dit etymologie wordt niet door verschillende Franse

taalkundigen want er is, met name, geen voorkomen van dit woord tot het einde van de 19e eeuw. Anderen zeggen de naam komt van een soort van aperitief, een zogenaamde Bis-trouille (of likeur koffie ), geserveerd in een aantal redelijk geprijsde res-taurants. Een bistro, soms gespeld bistrot, is, in zijn originele Parijse incarnatie,

een klein restaurant serveert redelijk geprijsde eenvoudige maaltijden in een bescheiden setting. Bistro’s wor-den meestal bepaald door het voed-sel dat ze serveren. Franse huis-gemaakte gerechten, en langzaam gekookt voedsel zoals cassoaulet, een bonenstoofpot, zijn typisch.

¿Qué es un Bistro? Un bistró o también bistrot, es un pe-queño establecimiento, restaurante o cafetería donde se sirve café y co-midas a precios económicos.

El origen de la palabra Bistró, es du-doso y lleva a disputas. Una de las versiones menciona que su origen puede provenir del ruso, бы́стро (IPA: [bɨstrə]) (bwystra!), que signi-fica ‘rápido’ según parece los sol-dados rusos que ocuparon Francia tras las Guerras Napoleónicas, se dirigían frecuentemente a los civiles franceses en los restaurantes de-mandando la comida rápida: “¡bis-tró!, ‘bistró!”, de esta forma la pala-bra se convirtió en un neologismo Bistro.

Otra de las versiones menciona que se trata probablemente de un regio-nalismo importado en París al siglo XIX, de ahí se difundió a través de toda Francia. Puede ser una varian-te dialectal Bistraud o Mastroquet (norte de Francia)/Bistroquet (sur de Francia), que pudo significar al prin-cipio a un criado, luego fue cambian-do a criado del negociante de vinos, y finalmente al mismo negociante de vinos.

The Black Pearl, el barco que participó en la vuelta al mundo a vela 2005-06 bajo el patrocinio de Dis-ney para promocionar la película “Piratas del Cari-be”, se exhibe frente al Museo Volvo Ocean Race en el Puerto de Alicante.

Con un calamar gigante en negro sobre un fondo rojo, el atractivo diseño de este impresionante barco de 21,5 metros de eslora y con un mástil de 31,5 metros se podrá apreciar

en su totalidad al estar instalado en alza frente al museo, que en los últimos seis meses ha recibido más de 20.000 visitantes, la mitad de ellos turistas internacionales.

“La impactante y fantástica imagen del barco gustará mucho a los alicantinos y turistas que visiten nuestro Mu-seo, será un aliciente más para acercarse a la Zona Volvo”, añadió Frostad.

El regatista estadounidense Paul Cayard fue el patrón del equipo que terminó en segunda posición en la edición 2005-06, que comenzó en Vigo, la primera vez que la re-gata salió desde fuera del Reino Unido. Alicante tomaría el relevo en 2008-09, 2011-12 y volverá a ser Puerto de Salida en octubre de este año: el día 4 se celebrará la regata In-Port y el día 11, la salida de la primera etapa que terminará en Ciudad del Cabo (Sudáfrica).

The Black Pearl, cuyo nombre hace referencia a la primera entrega de la serie de “Piratas del Caribe: La maldición de la Perla Negra” (2003) y cuyo puerto de origen es la mis-teriosa Isla de Muerta, es un barco de la clase Volvo Open 70 que se estrenó en la edición 2005-06, dotado con una quilla pivotante y unas dimensiones mayores a las de la clase predecesora. Hasta ahora esta nave estaba pintada con llamativas ilustraciones representando un dragón.

La edición 2014-15 se disputará con un nuevo barco mono-tipo, el Volvo Ocean 65, por lo que todos los barcos serán iguales y el factor humano determinará el éxito del equipo en la competición.

El Museo Volvo Ocean Race, que actualmente muestra la exposición fotográfica “40 años, 40 miradas”, ha recibi-do más de 20.000 visitas en los últimos seis meses. La entrada es gratuita y el horario de apertura es: de martes a jueves de 10 a 14 horas, viernes y sábados de 10 a 18 horas y domingos de 10 a 14 horas.

Vets were eventually able to tranquilise the youngster in the early hours of the morning, before driving him to the Samburu airstrip. Emocionante escena en Samburu, Kenia del norte, en el que Servicio de Fauna de Kenia y el equipo de salvamento de Elefantes intenta rescatar a uno de cinco meses que no quería abandonar a su madre muerta. Tal era la devoción de la cría que se olvidó del frío y de la amenaza de los depredadores. La autopsia reveló que la madre había muerto por una infección interna causada por una gripe intestinal. Los especialistas lograron tranquilizar a la cría huérfana y a tempranas horas de la mañana lo condujeron a la pista de aterrizaje de Samburu para su traslado en avión a su nuevo hogar,

Zodra je De Haan binnenkomt, merk je het meteen. Dit is een bijzonder plekje aan onze kust. Het tramhuisje brengt je meteen in de juiste sfeer. Hier kan je wegdromen tussen de villa’s in Vlaamse en Anglo-Normandische stijl, verdwalen in de kronkelende laantjes en volop genieten van heel veel groen. In het midden van de villawijk ligt het park La Potinière, de groene long van de badplaats.

Een duik in het verleden

Het idyllische karakter van De Haan hebben we te danken aan de Duitse stadsplanner Joseph Stübben. Elk gebouw hier heeft zijn eigen boeiend verhaal! Wist je dat de Joodse geleerde Albert Einstein in 1933 enkele maanden onderdook in de villa Savoyarde? Kom er meer over te weten tijdens de wandeling ‘In de voetsporen van Einstein’.

Wenduine Familiebadplaats bij uitstek

Wie van zon, zee en zand houdt, geniet volop in Wenduine. Ooit een middeleeuws vissersdorp, nu een moderne badplaats. Met een charmante wandeldijk en breed zandstrand om uit te waaien, of het nu winter zomer, lente of herfst is! De Rotonde vlakbij het strand is dé ontmoetingsplaats voor jong en oud. Tip voor romantische zielen: ga bij valavond naar het paviljoen de Spioenkop en geniet van een onvergetelijke zonsondergang.

Klemskerke en VlissegemPolderdorpen van weleer Charme troef in de eeuwenoude polderdorpen Klemskerke en Vlissegem. Landelijke wegen brengen je tot bij stemmige kerkjes, een oude molen en historische hoeves. Onderweg, lieflijke landschappen met grazende koeien en prachtige vergezichten. Hou even halt in het historische Sint Clemenskerkje en geef je ogen de kost. Tip: bezoek de geklasseerde schuur ‘De Schamele Weecke’ uit de 14de eeuw in Vlissegem.

Vosseslag en Harendijke De natuur op haar best : een uitgestrekt strand dat naadloos overvloeit in ongerepte duinen, geen dijk en ook geen golfbrekers, maar gewoonweg puur natuur. Klinkt onwaarschijnlijk maar het bestaat! In Vosseslag op de grens met Bredene en in Harendijke, helemaal aan de andere kant richting Blankenberge. Hier ervaar je het spel van eb en vloed op zijn best!In Vosseslag is ook één van eerste golfterreinen van het land gevestigd.

Geersensmolen in Klemskerke is net gerestaureerd en schittert weer in volle glorie. Ook in de Hubertmolen in Wenduine kan je de molenaar nog aan het werk zien. De ommuurde plattelandskerkjes van Vlissegem en Klemskerke zijn een oase van rust en stilte. De ideale stop tijdens je fietstocht door de polders.

Paradijs voor fietsers en wandelaars

Fietsers en wandelaars halen hier hun hart op, het hele jaar door. Plan een fietstochtje richting Klemskerke en Vlissegem met de polders als prachtig decor. Of ontdek enkele streekproducten en kunstenaars uit de regio tijdens de Oudlandroute. En wat is er heerlijker dan flink ingeduffeld door de duinen wandelen, het mulle zand onder je voeten en dan lekker uitwaaien op het strand, de wind in de rug… Dorst gekregen van al dat wandelen en fietsen? Hoogtijd om even uit te rusten en jezelf te verwennen met een streekbiertje of een warme choco. Of trakteer jezelf op een ijsje of welverdiende wafel met slagroom!

Plan je een fietsweekendje aan zee? Heel wat hotels hebben fietsbergplaatsen waar je je tweewieler gratis kunt parkeren. Je herkent de fietsvriendelijke logies aan het label. 

Kindvriendelijke gemeente

De grootste speeltuin vind je… op het strand. Zandkastelen bouwen, schelpjes rapen, over de golven springen… de vakantie kan niet meer stuk. Ook in de parken de Potinière en het Astridplein kunnen de kinderen zich uitleven op het speelplein terwijl jij vanop het terras een oogje in het zeil houdt. De Rotonde aan de voet van de duinen in Wenduine is dan weer ‘the place to be’ voor jongeren. Ze kunnen er volop skaten en go-carten.

Valt het weer wat tegen? Geen nood. In de zwembaden van De Haan en Wenduine zijn de kinderen een paar uurtjes zoet. En dan is er nog Sunparks De Haan met een subtropisch zwembad en een indoor speeldorp.

Over lekker eten, drinken en streekproducten

Vakantie, dat is ook lekker eten en drinken. Het wordt moeilijk kiezen tussen de vele gezellige restaurants en sfeervolle brasseries. Ga voor de typische Noordzeeproducten en bestel overheerlijke garnaalkroketten, dagverse vis of mosselen met frietjes. Proef ook onze streekproducten! Wat dacht je van lekker vers fruit, paardenmelk en verse geitenkaas? Allemaal rechtstreeks te koop bij de boer.

Suggestie: Combineer lekker eten met erfgoed tijdens de ‘Tasty Belle Epoque’ erfgoedwandeling.

Beleef de natuur het hele jaar door

In onze gemeente vind je maar liefst 11 kilometer strand, 9 kilometer ongerepte duinen, meer dan 150 hectare bos en een indrukwekkend polderlanschap. Wist je dat zo’n groot bos vlakbij de zee echt wel uniek is? In de Duinbossen wisselen beboste duinen en open duinlandschap elkaar af. De meest opvallende bewoner

is de rode bosmier maar je kunt er evengoed kustsprinkhanen, zomertortels en nachtegalen spotten. Verder het hinterland in kan je vogels spieden in de Uitkerkse Polder bijvoorbeeld. De kluut en de tureluur komen hier graag broeden en in de winter strijken er duizenden vriesganzen neer.

Kies voor een sportieve vakantie

Hou je van sporten, ook tijdens je vakantie? Dan zit je goed bij ons ! Voor allerlei watersporten kan je terecht in de clubs in De Haan en Wenduine. Hou je het liever droog ? Op de sportstranden is er de hele zomer animatie. De Duinbossen zijn dan weer de gedroomde plek voor mountainbikers en wandelaars. Je kunt er ook paardrijden. Ook hengelaars komen ruimschoots aan hun trekken met een zone voorbehouden aan de Rotonde in Wenduine en een visvijver aan de Vosseslag. Even verderop is één van de eerste golfclubs van het land gevestigd. Voor elk wat wils dus!

Gezellig shoppen

Heb je nog een paar stevige wandelschoenen nodig voor je strandwandeling of ben je nog op zoek naar een leuk zomerjurkje voor dochterlief? Shoppen doe je naar hartenlust in één van de trendy

boutiques. Slenter door de gezellige straatjes en doe je boodschappen bij de plaatselijke bakker, slager of kruidenier om de hoek.

Evenementen het hele jaar rond

Er is altijd wel een goeie reden om een weekendje De Haan te boeken! Het hele jaar door valt hier vanalles te beleven. Wat dacht je van een sfeervolle kerstboomverbranding, een authentieke Zeewijding met ingetogen processie,

kleurrijke Reuzenfeesten en volkse Vosseslagfeesten? Het Sprotjesfeest, het Bierfestival en de Garnalenfeesten zullen de lekkerbekken zeker bekoren. Topper in de zomer is ‘Trammelant ‘. HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show confirms its position as the most com-prehensive show of its kind in Northern

Europe. Around 300 new boats from Dutch and international yards are expected at the docks of the Amsterdam Marina close to the city centre. Nowhere else in Europe you can find such a complete overview of Dutch ya-chtbuilders.

The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show is a fabulous day out for everyone who enjoys the water and beautiful boats. Visitors will get to see the crème de la crème of Dutch and international yachtbuilding. From small to lar-ge, series-built or custom, in aluminium, steel or GRP: The show offers an impressively comprehensive overview of some 300 vessels, including dozens of (global) premieres.

The quays of the Amsterdam Marina will accommodate open sailboats, sailyachts, luxury catamarans, motorya-chts, launches, tenders, speedboats and RIBs varying in length from five to 30 metres.

The exhibited boats will be presented within three nauti-cal theme worlds: Adventure Island is focused on smaller and faster open boats, Pleasure Island features cruisers, while luxurious motor and sailyachts will be berthed at Luxury Island.

Exciting activities

The exhibition also includes a wealth of exciting activities on and around the water, almost all of which are free of charge. The programme that includes trials in open sailboats, sailing lessons for kids, wakeboarding, flyboarding, rowing, surfing, bubble walking, manoeuvring workshops and match racing will create a dynamic atmosphere around the exhi-bited vessels.

Culinary highlights

The boat show offers more than boats alone with exhibitors presenting nautical items, clothing and accessories on the quay. After touring the jetties, you can enjoy delicious delicacies at the terrace of Restaurant Duin and Kruidberg located at the heart of the luxury yacht fleet.

The HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show will take place from Tuesday 2 to Sunday 7 September 2014 in the Amster-dam Marina on the NDSM-wharf close to the city centre. Ope-ning hours of the boat show will be from 11:00 to 19:00 every day.
