This software can be used with any of thefollowing controllers once they have been pairedwith the console.

◆ Each player must have a controller to play inmultiplayer mode.

◆ A Wii Remote™ Plus controller can be used instead ofa Wii Remote controller.

◆ Only one Wii U GamePad controller can be used.

This software supports linear PCM surroundsound. In order to experience surround sound,sele (System Settings) from the Wii U Menu,choose the TV item, and then change the audio-output type to Surround.

◆ Only the game data from one software title can besaved on an amiibo at a time. In order to create newgame data on an amiibo that has existing data fromanother game, you must first delete the existing gamedata. To delete ame data, open Wii U Menu →System Setting ) and then select amiiboSettings.

◆ Data stored on amiibo can be read by multiplecompatible games.

◆ If the data on an amiibo is corrupted and carestored, open Wii U Menu → System Setting )→ amiibo Settings and reset the data.

The first time you play, you'lchoose a national flag anthen go to CopacabanBeach. On the beach you camove your Mii charactefreely, talk to the various characters hanging out,and choose a mode to play.

◆ More modes and things to do will appear as youprogress through the game.

◆ You can also choose a mode from the shortcutmenu, accessed by pressing .

Select an event and character to play one matchSolo mode is for one playerwhile Multiplayer mode allowfor 2-4 players in co-op ocompetitive play.

At the Tournament Gateyou'll use your Mii characteto participate in a tournamentSimply choose the evenyou'd like to play to gestarted. If you win three matches, you'll earn amedal and clear the tournament!

Use Co-op Counter to switch between single-playermode and two-player co-op mode. However, thereare certain events that cannot be played in co-opmode.

In this mode, choose betweeTeam Mario or Team Soniand then compete against thother. Win by defeating thopposing team's captai(Mario or Sonic) within a certain amount of time. Ifneither captain is defeated, a decision will be madeto determine the winning team.

This mode can be played by a single player (Solo)or two players (Multiplayer).

You can view Miiverse posts here or make newposts to send to Miiverse yourself.

Download other players' ghost data from NetworkRankings and compete against it in events.Your own ghost data will be uploaded after an eventand will be shared with players around the world.

Special tournaments will unlock when you scanMario or Sonic amiibo. You will receive coins andrings for scanning other amiibo.

◆ Some options won't become available until youprogress through the game.

Connect to Nintendo Network to check rankings forevents. An Internet connection is required to accessNintendo Network.

Check various things you've unlocked, such asawards and stamps.

Change your Mii character'outfit. Outfits consist oheadgear and clothes, whichdepending on thcombination, may enhancyour Mii character's abilities.

Turn Display Miiverse Posts on to display Miiverseposts on Copacabana Beach's Miiverse Monitor.

Change the background music that plays duringevents.
