A MESSAGE FOR YOU

Pg . 3

This week is Catholic Schools Week. Schools typically observe Na onal Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open house and other ac vi es for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, we focus on the value that Catholic educa on provides to young people and our contribu on to our church, our communi es and our na on.

Our School OPEN HOUSE is Sunday, 10-1, and Monday, 9-noon this week. Students, teachers and parents are available to lead you on a tour of the school and talk about the faith, academic, athle c and extracurricular programs. Everyone who is curious about why Catholic Schools are so successful, and how having a Catholic School at our parish is a sound investment in the future of the parish and the Church, should stop by the OPEN HOUSE.

Many Parishioners give to the Catholic Educa on Arizona Tax-credit campaign, support the gi card program, or are thinking about joining us in some way at the Dinner-Auc on fundraiser later this spring. Please consider joining us at the OPEN HOUSE to see how your (tax) dollars will be used!

During Catholic Schools Week, Christ the King Catholic School celebrates Service with a weeklong Food Drive to benefit H.O.P.E., culmina ng in the delivery of the collec on on Friday. We can summarize the Catholic School perspec ve with seven tenets:

Catholic schools care deeply about the community. Catholic schools take moral stands on issues in the world. Religion is taken seriously. The school cares deeply about the educa on of the students. Catholic educa on produces impressive individuals. Students are prepared to live the right kind of life. Students are prepared for a global outlook on the world.

Catholic schools have the chance to stress the importance of feeling like a family, being part of a community

and provide an excep onal educa on. Catholic schools are accessible, affordable and available for

everyone.

Happy Catholic Schools Week!

High School Multi-Parish Retreat: CONQUER March 2-4 2018

“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

Imagine over 400 teens gathered together in the picturesque mountains of Williams, Arizona, excited about having an encounter with Christ. Some who attend have grown up in the Church, for others this is one of their first experiences of the Church. Regardless of how involved or detached the teens may have been from faith, this retreat has had a life-changing impact on countless teens who attend. Led by 3More worship band, inspired by Catholic speakers, fortified by the sacraments, elevated in prayer and adoration, and with the presence of many priests and our own Bishop Thomas Olmsted, teens walk away from this retreat with great love and zeal for Christ and His Church. Registration has begun, the $150.00 fee includes lodging, bus fare, meals and a t-shirt. Please contact Elisa, Youth Facilitator at 480-844-4476 today to reserve your spot. Limited space is available.

UN MENSAJE PARA USTED

Pg . 7

Lord Jesus Christ, I firmly believe that you are present in this Blessed Sacrament as true God and true Man, with your Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. My Redeemer and my Judge,

Lord, I come, I confess, bowing here I find my rest Without You I fall apart,

You're the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, Oh, I need You Every hour I need You

My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more Where grace is found is where You are

And where You are, Lord, I am free Holiness is Christ in me

Be with me, Lord. Be with me, my Lord. When I'm in trouble and I don't know where to go,

Be with me, Lord.

When I'm blind, when I cannot see, When all life's troubles sweep over me.

When I'm in darkness, and all I see is me, Be with me, Lord.

When I refuse to hear Your word. When I hear Your voice and do not follow.

When I'm in trouble and I don't know where to go, Be with me, Lord.

Letting go of every single dream, I lay each one down at Your feet Every moment of my wandering, never changes what You see

I’ve tried to win this war I confess, my hands are weary I need Your rest Mighty Warrior, King of the fight, no matter what I face, You’re by my side

When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through

When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You!

Truth is, You know what tomorrow brings, there’s not a day ahead You have not seen So, in all things be my life and breath, I want what You want Lord and nothing less

You are my strength and comfort, You are my steady hand You are my firm foundation; the rock on which I stand

Your ways are always higher, Your plans are always good There’s not a place where I’ll go, You’ve not already stood
