Desde finales de la década de los noventa, Fernando Lemoniez ha ido dejando oír su voz a través del ruido de fondo de las tendencias característico del universo de la moda. Para lograrlo han sido necesarios además del indudable talento grandes dosis de convicción y constancia, porque en tiempos finiseculares en los que se dicta del fin de todo, de las ideologías, la novela, la pintura y largo etcétera, la costura no podía ser la excepción y, de hecho, no lo es.

Pese a todo, durante estos casi tres lustros Fernando Lemoniez, fiel a unos principios irrenunciables de búsqueda de perfección y estilo, ajeno a cualquier condicionamiento de índole comercial y decidido a expresarse con absoluta libertad, ha ido presentando las sucesivas colecciones que, además de revelar a un creador singular, han dado visibilidad a una mujer hasta ahora casi olvidada en las pasarelas a la que el creador ha otorgado identidad.

Culta, inteligente, independiente y con criterio el perfil de la mujer Lemoniez no obedece a baremos preestablecidos. Las cualidades que la definen se pueden dar en cualquier edad, clase social o nacionalidad. En palabras del propio diseñador se trata de mujeres reales, de amigas, hermanas, novias compañeras de trabajo, madres... La ropa creada por Fernando va dirigida a ese tipo de mujeres con las que nos cruzamos por la calle, nos divertimos, convivimos, conocemos y queremos. Mujeres reales alejadas de cualquier estereotipo. No es frecuente que se dé este tipo de comunión entre diseñador y clienta pero, cuando ocurre, la mutua fidelidad está garantizada y el fuego sagrado de la ilusión continuará ardiendo en cualquier circunstancia.

La ropa talismán de Fernando Lemoniez, lejos de tapar la personalidad de quien la viste, la potenciará, llegando incluso a descubrirle aspectos desconocidos hasta entonces. Todas las mujeres tienen algo de sacerdotisa, algo de Mata Hari, algo de Pavlova... - podríamos seguir así sin solución de continuidad - pero no lo saben hasta que, de pronto, un día lo descubren frente al espejo vestidas de determinada forma. Lógicamente no se trata de un disfraz, es algo mucho más sutil, un matiz, una sensación dormida que de pronto despierta al roce de una seda, una lana, lino, visón… La lista de materiales empleados es interminable porque los tejidos son parte esencial en las prendas de Lemoniez, bien en colores puros o en estampados a menudo inspirados, nunca mimetizados, en la vanguardia histórica; son buscados y escogidos meticulosamente hasta dar con el justo para cada caso.

Y es por eso que luego la ropa veces vuela y acaricia, otras encaja, protege y abriga mientras favorece y seduce. Para identificarse con la ropa hay que empezar por sentirla sobre la piel y, en este aspecto, Fernando Lemoniez es un maestro. También lo es en el corte, versátil, preciso y decidido que desprende personalidad y contemporaneidad a partes iguales. Since the late nineties, Fernando Lemoniez’s voice has been heard over the characteristic background noise of the fashion world. To achieve this, there has been necessary an undoubted talent besides heavy doses of conviction and perseverance. In these fin-du-siècle times in which the end of everything -ideologies, literature, painting and so on- have been dictated, couture could not be the exception and, in fact, it is not.

Nevertheless, during all these years, Fernando Lemoniez, faithful to some inalienable principles in his quest for perfection and style, oblivious to any commercial conditioning and intent on expressing himself with absolute freedom, has been presenting successive collections that, besides revealing a singular creator, have given visibility to a woman almost always forgotten on the runways and to whom the creator has given identity.

Educated, intelligent, independent and discerning, Lemoniez’s woman, does not follow predefined trends. The qualities that define her can occur at any age, social class or nationality. In the words of designer, they are real women, friends, sisters, girlfriends, colleagues, mothers... The clothes created by Fernando are directed to those women we meet on the street, have fun with, live with, know and love. Real women away from any stereotype. It’s not usual that this kind of communion between designer and client occurs but, when it happens, mutual fidelity is guaranteed and the sacred fire of illusion continues to burn in all circumstances.

Talisman creations made by Lemoniez, far from hiding the personality of whoever wears them, actually boosts it, even discovering some hitherto unknown aspects of the same. All women are some priestess, some Mata Hari, some Pavlova... - we could go on without interruption- but often do not know it until suddenly one day, they discover it while looking into the mirror, dressed in a certain way. Obviously this is not a fancy dress, it’s something much more subtle, a nuance, a subconscious sense that suddenly awakens from the touch of silk, wool, linen, mink ... The list of materials is endless because they are essential on Lemoniez garments, either pure colours or patterns often inspired, never copied, in the historical avant-garde. They are sought and carefully chosen to strike a balance for each case.

And that’s why sometimes clothes float and caress, others fit, protect and dress while suiting and seducing. To identify with the clothes you have to start feeling it on the skin and in this respect, Fernando Lemoniez is a master. So too is the cut, versatile, precise and determined, full of personality and contemporaneity equally. Garments created by Lemoniez do not respond to the immediacy of the moment, but reflect an age. They are stylish, different and forever, like diamonds.

La firma Lemoniez fue fundada en 1997 por el diseñador Fernando Lemoniez (San Sebastián, 1964). Su misión: diseñar y producir prendas bellas, elegantes y favorecedoras para mujeres reales, buscando la máxima calidad en tejidos, patrones y técnicas de confección.

Fernando Lemoniez ha estado vinculado a la moda desde muy joven. A mediados de los 80 inauguró en San Sebastián la tienda-taller Descoco, tienda multimarca en la que vendía también sus primeros diseños. En 1986 lanzó su primera colección completa bajo la firma Exequo.

Entre 1991 y 1997 realizó, en colaboración, las colecciones Palacio & Lemoniez, que se presentaron inicialmente en Cibeles y, a partir de 1996, en París, dentro del calendario oficial de la Chambre Sindicale de la Couture et du Prêt-à-Porter. Las colecciones Palacio & Lemoniez tuvieron un gran éxito y se distribuyeron en EEUU, Japón y varios países europeos. En 1996 diseñó una línea de ceremonia para la firma italiana Genny.

En 1998, tuvo el honor de trabajar en el taller de Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture, donde perfeccionó su conocimiento de las técnicas de la alta costura. Simultáneamente, fundó la marca LEMONIEZ, que presentó sus primeras colecciones en París. Desde el año 2000, ha presentado sus colecciones en la pasarela Cibeles (actual Mercedes Benz Fashion Week) de Madrid.

Además de moda para mujer, Lemoniez ha diseñado numerosos artículos: joyas, calzado y bolsos, gafas etc., tanto bajo su propio nombre como en colaboración con otras marcas comerciales. Cabe destacar las dos colecciones de joyas diseñadas para Suarez en 2006 y 2007 o la colección de zapatos y bolsos creada para Fosco. Asimismo, desde 2012 diseña ropa para niñas bajo la marca Señorita Lemoniez.

Ha recibido diversos reconocimientos, como la T de Telva en 1992 y 1995 y el homenaje de Moda Getxo en el año 2011.

Lemoniez was founded in 1997 by designer Fernando Lemoniez (San Sebastian 1964). Its mission is to design, produce and distribute beautiful and elegant garments for real women, using the best fabrics and the most innovative couture techniques.

Fernando Lemoniez (San Sebastián, 1964) has been linked to the fashion world since his early youth. He opened Descoco, his first shop and atelier in San Sebastian in the mid-eighties. Descoco was a multi-brand shop where he also showed his first designs. In 1986, he presented his first completed collection under the brand Exequo.

From 1991 to 1997 he created, in collaboration, the Palacio & Lemoniez collections. These where shown initially in Pasarela Cibeles, former Madrid Fashion Week and, from 1996, in Paris in the frame of the official schedule of the Chambre Syndicale du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode.

Palacio & Lemoniez collections had great commercial success and were sold in USA, Japan and several European countries. He also designed an evening wear collection for the Italian firm, Genny.

In 1998, Fernando had the privilege of working at the Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture atelier, where he improved his knowledge of the Haute Couture techniques. At the same time, he founded LEMONIEZ, his current brand, which showed its first collections in Paris. From year 2000, LEMONIEZ shows its collections in Pasarela Cibeles Madrid (current Mercedes Benz Fashion Week).

Besides women´s wear, LEMONIEZ has designed jewels, sunglasses, handbags, shoes, etc. under his own name or in collaboration with other brands. Among others, it should be noted the collections of jewels designed for Suarez in 2006 and 2007 or the capsule collection –shoes and handbags- made for Fosco in 2011. From 2012, LEMONIEZ designs fashion for girls under the name Señorita LEMONIEZ.

Fernando Lemoniez has been distinguished with several recognitions such as the T de Telva, in 1992 and 1995, as well as the Moda Getxo Acknowledgment in 2011.
