DATA COLLECTION METHODS

1 PHYSICAL BLOCK SURVEY To gain an understanding of significant changes in construction since 2009, 20 students divided into 4 groups to document building elements in detail. Data from a significant sampling was composited to create an adequate visual comparison. Certain elements provided clues

about future growth.

2 INTERVIEWS

To document and understand the narrative of the lives and experiences of those who live in Los Piletones, the students carefully crafted exploratory questions and interviewed residents over the course of one week regarding current practices, future plans, concerns and perceptions regarding the development of Los Pilteones. 30 interview transcripts were compiled and used as source documents that acted as a primary reference for the students propositions.

3 LOW ALTITUDE AERIAL MAPPING

To obtain an up-to-date overview of the physical morphology of the community, a series of low altitude aerial maps were generated over the course of two weeks. A team of three students employed several low-cost photographic methods which also succeeded in spontaneously engaging children. These aerials were used as a primary reference for initial propositions and will continue to be used in the coming months to give quantitative specificity to proposals.

¿Dónde vives?En los piletones, en una sona consolidada a la ribera del lago regulador

¿Quiénes viven aquí?-

¿Qué edad tienen?Llevan viviendo por lo menos 3 generaciones

¿De donde son?Del interior del país

2.-Economico:

¿Alquilan o son dueños? ¿Te alcanza?Alquilan

¿Dónde haces tus compras básicas?Las compras de alimentos básicos se realizan dentro de la comunidad y si necesitan algo que no se consigue dentro lo van a buscar en los alrededores de la villa.

Los materiales para la construcción de las casas los sacan de los corralones cercanos a la comunidad. Existe un corralón de materiales frente al polideportivo, donde se estacionan camiones, pero según Seba son medio “chorros”

¿Trabajas aquí en la zona o en otro lugar?No trabaja, asiste a la escuela cuando puede. Nos contó que hay mucha gente trabajando en talleres de costura clandestinos que operan día y noche. También mencionó el tema de la venta de drogas, que se realiza cerca del puesto de Gendarmería debajo de la autopista, y en una de las esquinas de las calles

principales del barrio. Los chicos son los mayores consumidores de droga. La droga más consumida es el Paco

¿Cómo te mueves dentro y fuera de la comunidad?Por lo que pudimos apreciar dentro de la comunidad se mueven a pié. Fuera de la comunidad, no le preguntamos

3.-Seguridad:

¿Qué necesitas en la comunidad?No lo dijo El, pero según lo que pudimos apreciar, necesitan espacio público para poder desarrollar sus actividades recreativas. El polideportivo esta cerrado desde hace un año, por lo que no pueden desarrollarse actividades recreativas en ese predio. Bordeando el piletón, pasando el polideportivo y los conjuntos de las Madres de Plaza de Mayo (Sud-Este), según Seba había espacios para que la gente haga Picnic y juegue al futbol, pero hoy en día ese terreno esta lleno de árboles talados y escombros en lo que parecería ser una privatización del sector por parte del gobierno de la ciudad.

Pasando los ultimos asentamientos y recorriendo la ribera Sud-Este del piletón nos mostró un espacio muy agradable, donde se respiraba aire puro, en donde se suelen armar partidos de futbol entre los chicos. El acceso es muy peligroso, ya que caminan por el borde del piletón donde no existe ningún tipo de contención o baranda para llegar allí.

La supuesta cancha de Volley se encuentra en el perímetro de uno de los piletones y actualmente esta llena de autos en reparación.

¿Te sientes seguro? - ¿Fuera y dentro de tu casa? ¿Qué te haría sentir mas seguro?La seguridad de las personas se da a partir del conocimiento o no de la gente que te rodea. Si conoces a los vecinos entonces puedes pasar por ese lugar. Si no los conoces y no te saludan, la probabilidad de conflicto es alta.

4.-Opinion:

¿Qué expectativas tienes para tus hijos? - ¿Conoces alguna mejoría futura para la comunidad? (Comuna 8 y PROSur)Repudian la intervención de las madres porque desaparecieron árboles frutales que habían en el terreno donde hoy se encuentran las viviendas. Por no haber sido partícipes de la construcción de las mismas las ven inestables y con posibilidad de rotura a corto plazo. Caminando por el borde entre la villa y el cinjunto de las madres se puede verificar el nivel de hostilidad que existe desde el personal de seguridad del “nuevo piletones” , para con los habitantes de la villa los piletones.

5.-Salud:

¿De donde sacan el agua de consumo? ¿De canilla o compran? -¿Utilizan la clínica?¿Dónde botan sus desechos?En el piletón, ya que el camión recolector no entra más a la villa. La razón por la que no entra el camión no tiene que ver con el nuevo asentamiento sobre la ribera del lago, sino que depende del reciente cierre del predio donde se encuentran las viviendas de las Madres de Plaza de Mayo. La calle por la que circulaba el camión atraviesa el conjunto de las madres, por lo que al cerrarla, se imposibilitó la entrada del mismo para realizar la recolección.

¿Tienes inquietudes sobre la salud? -

6.-Educación: Hay muchas escuelas en los piletones y sus alrededores, tanto primaria como secundaria. El problema es el incentivo para que los chicos asistan, ya que según nos contaba, la mayoría solo llega hasta tercer año del secundario.
