LuTo es el retrato de una relación que va deteriorándose irremediablemente.Luisa y Tomás, una pareja típica contemporánea que se enamora y sin es-
cucharse de fondo deciden irse a vivir juntos. Las alarmas suenan desde las
primeras citas pero ellos no escuchan y no ven mas allá de lo que están sin-
tiendo y es que cuando la pasión es tan fuerte el entendimiento duerme una
larga siesta.
Los traumas de ambos se personifican durante la relación. La convivencia ter-
mina por ir quebrando lo que parecía indestructible.
Luisa y Tomás son distintos, quieren cosas distintas e intentan salvar su relación
evadiendo las diferencias. Gran error. Las diferencias logran lastimarlos, los de-
sarman y los confrontan con sus demonios más profundos.
La historia de amor de esta pareja puede ser tan natural como desgarradora.
El intento de ambos por seguir amándose es lo que los motiva a intentar salvar
el barco. Evitar el daño, el dolor y el naufragio.
Conforme pasa el tiempo es evidente que por más que quieran, no pueden
construir el sueño de ser la pareja que quieren ser. La historia va de atrás a de-
lante en el tiempo, siendo el principio de la película el detonador de lo que po-
dría ser el final de la historia de amor. Momentos que se entrelazan y te invitan
a preguntarte: ¿Hubiera sido mejor no haberse conocido?
LuTo- mourning, requiem- is a portrait of a relationship which begins to dis-integrate irremediably. Luisa and Tomas, a typical contemporary couple, fall in
love and without really listening to each other they decide to move in together.
The warning signs are present from the first dates but they are not able to see
them. When passion is strong, awareness takes a long nap.
The cracks begin to appear. Coexistence ends up destroying what appeared
to be unbreakable. Luisa and Tomas are opposites and they try to save the re-
lationship by avoiding their differences. Big mistake. They end up hurting each
other and confronting their deepest demons.
This love story can be as natural as it can be heartbreaking. Their attempt to
keep loving each other is what motivates them to save the relationship.
As time goes by it’s clear that, as much as they want to, they will be unable to
become the dream couple they long to be. The narrative moves from the pres-
ent into the past: The beginning of the movie is what could be the end of the
love story. Moments interlace throughout and invite you to think:
Would it have been better never to have met?
SinopsisSynopsis
Luisa y Tomás podemos ser todos. Las historias de amor son historias decarencias en dónde uno se puede identificar fácilmente. Cualquier persona que
alguna vez estuvo enamorada y con el tiempo se da cuenta que no son el uno
para el otro podrá verse reflejado en esta historia. Una película en dónde las
emociones son reales, cómo se va del enamoramiento a la desilusión pasando
por muchos sentimentos que generan angustia, culpas y miedos.
Qué pasa cuando las frustraciones personales se vuelcan en la pareja. Cuándo
se dicen cosas que no se pueden borrar, cuándo te das cuenta que la persona
que tienes al lado es completamente distinta a ti. Cómo inicia un distanci-
amiento que al principio se ignora hasta que se topa con pared y es momento
de enfrentar las cosas. Cuándo las dos personas están viendo hacia lugares
distintos y entonces llega el momento en donde no hay marcha atrás y en
dónde todo está demasiado roto.
La culpa es de dos, las relaciones son de dos y siempre una persona reaccionará
a la otra, nunca con afán de lastimarla pero al final es inevitable que suceda.
En esta historia no es falta de amor, sólo que el amor no es suficiente. Algo que
los dos personajes tardan en entender y tratan de salvar su relación hasta el
momento en donde se dan cuenta que no hay más que hacer y nada más
que decir.

Luisa and Tomas could be any person. Love stories are about filling our ownlack and anyone can identify with them. Any person that once fell in love with
someone and then realized that they were not meant to be together will be
able to recognize itself in this story. This is a movie where there are real emo-
tions, how do we go from falling in love to disappointment going through other
feelings that produce anxiety, guilt and fear.
What happens when our personal frustrations fall over in the relationship.
When we say things that can´t be erased, when you realize that the person
beside you is completely different from you. How does estrangement begins
and we choose to ignore it until we have nowhere to go and then it´s moment
to face things. When two people look to different places it comes to the point
where there is no way back and where everything is broken.
There are two people to blame, it takes two to be in a relationship and one will
react to the other all the time, it is never with the desire to hurt the other but
in the end it happens inevitably. This story is not about the lack of love it´s
just that love isn´t enough. Luisa and Tomas don´t realize this until later and
they try to save their relationship until they become aware there is nothing
else to do and nothing else to say.

CORTÁZAR
De nacionalidad mexicana, nace en 1980. Estudia 5 semestres en la Licen-ciatura de Cine en el CECC y en 2005 se gradúa de una maestría en dirección
de The London Film School.
En 2010 gana la beca de desarrollo de IMCINE por su proyecto En Contraluz
del cual también es guionista y será producida en 2014 gracias al apoyo de la
226 de IMCINE.
En abril de 2012 se estrena como directora de teatro con una puesta de tres
obras cortas de Tenessee Williams Hablame como la lluvia, La Marquesa de
Larkspur Lotion y Auto da Fe en el foro Luces de Bohemia. En Agosto del
mismo año dirige su segunda obra de teatro La Acera de Enfrente con Maya
Zapata y Johanna Murillo, un texto de Samara Ibrahim la cuál sale de gira por
Tamaulipas en el Festival Internacional de Teatro para después tener una tem-
porada en la ciudad de México en diciembre del mismo año presentándose en
la Sala Chopin.
También ha dirigido videos musicales para Kevin Drew de Broken Social Scene,
una banda canadiense, dos videos para Camila Sodi y uno para Pambo.
Katina trabajó del 2005 al 2009 como asistente y relaciones públicas del actor
Gael García Bernal en su productora Canana Films además de ser primer asis-
tente de dirección de varias películas como Voy a Explotar de Gerardo Naranjo,
Oveja Negra de Humberto Hinojosa, Cochochi de Israel Cárdenas y Laura
Amelia Guzman, entre otras.
KATINA MEDINA MORA
Mexican Director born in 1980, studies 5 semesters in Filmmaking in CECCUniversity and in 2005 she graduates from a master in directing at The London
Film School.
In 2010 she wins the development scholarship from IMCINE with her project
En Contraluz that was written by her and will be produced in 2014 after winning
the grant of 226 from IMCINE.
In April 2012 she directs her first theatre play with three short plays from
Tenessee Williams Talk to me like the rain, Larkspur Lotion and Auto da fe. In
August same year she directs her second play La Acera de Enfrentewith Maya
Zapata and Johanna Murillo which went on tour to five cities in Tamaulipas
(north of Mexico) and had a short season in México City on December 2012 at
Sala Chopin.
She has directed music videos for Kevin Drew from canadian band Broken
Social Scene, also for Camila Sodi and Pambo from Sony Music.
Katina worked from 2005 to 2009 as public relations and assistant to mexican
actor Gael García Bernal in Canana Films. Also she was first AD for the movies
Canana produced and from other production companies such as Voy a Explotar
from Gerardo Naranjo, Oveja Negra from Humberto Hinojosa, Cochochi from
Israel Cardenas and Laura Amelia Guzman and others.

Nació en Monterrey N.L. el 13 de julio de 1979. Estudió la carrera de comunica-ción en el Tec de Monterrey y la carrera de actuación en el Centro de Formación
Actoral CEFAC, generación 2004.
Desde el 2006 y hasta la fecha ha trabajado en películas como Ella del director
peruano Francisco Lombardi, Sobre Ella de Mauricio T. Valle, La Cristiada dir.
Dean Wright, Borrar de la Memoria de Alfredo Gurrola, La mala luz de Tony
Wakefield y actualmente se encuentra filmando la Ópera Prima 2013 del Centro
de Capacitación Cinematografica, Estrellas Solitarias de Fernando Urdapilleta.
En televisión partició en la serie Bienes Raices (segunda temporada), XY y Pa-
cientes para canal ONCE así como Drenaje Profundo para Televisión Azteca
En teatro: Perras de Gillermo Rios y Vacas de Adriana Pelusi.

Born in Monterrey in 1970 she studied comunication at Tec de Monterrey andalso studied acting at CEFAC in México city.
From 2006 till now she has worked in movies like Ella from Fransisco Lombardi,
Sobre Ella from Mauricio T. Valle, La Cristiada from director Dean Wright, Borrar
de la Memoria from Alfredo Gurrola, La Mala Luz from Tony Wakefield and she
is now shooting the first feature from director Fernando Urdapilleta Estrellas
Solitarias from CCC university.
She has participated in Tv series such as Bienes Raíces (season 2), XY, Pa-
cientes and Drenaje Profundo.
In theatre: Perras from Guillermo Ríos and Vacas from Adriana Pelusi.

Actormexicano nacido en León, Guanajuato, egresado de Drama Centre Lon-don. Inició su carrera profesional en el largometraje de Eva López Sánchez La
última y nos vamos, ha participado en series de Tv como Soy tu Fan y Los Mi-
nondo. Participó en la película de Jimena Montemayor que se encuentra en
post- producción.

Mexican Actor born in Guanajuato, studied in Drama Centre in London. Heparticipated in Eva Lopez Sanchez feature film La última y nos vamos and in
Jimena Montemayor´s feature film that is now in post-production. He has par-
ticipated in tv series such as Soy tu fan from Canana Films and Los Minondo.

Sello EndimíaEndimia Seal
Sello Endimía es parte manifesto y parte acción –la de hacer cine– por eso la
figura del autor se radicaliza, dejando de lado al guión como el principal eje
de la producción, y construye la narrativa a partir de los elementos más indis-
pensables. El autor, literalmente escribe su película mientras la ejecuta, rec-
hazando la convención, pero sometido a un rigor de producción y efectividad.
Autor y productor están obligados a explorar y a comprender el cine desde lo
mínimo, desde lo más elemental.
Sello Emdimía es una colaboración, un pacto, entre partes. El principal vínculo
radica en la relación entre el productor y el autor. Desde una visión coloquial
se podría ver como una serie de acciónes y prácticas de autores (directores)
que necesiten “impulso” para poder avanzar y hacer películas más grandes o
retomar proyectos que hayan sido difciles de producir en el pasado por caren-
cia de cuerpo de trabajo. Se podría sugerir como un ejercicio que despierte su
creatividad y les devuelva la confianza que necesitan para seguir adelante.
Sello Endimía produjo su primer largometraje hace un año, Golondrinas 33 de
Renato Ornelas, LuTo es el segundo largometraje parte de este sello, el tercer
proyecto será Me Quedo Contigo de Artemio Narro, que se encuentra en post
producción.
Endimía Seal is part manifest and part action- to make films- that is why the
author radicalizes himself leaving aside the script as the fundamental theme
of production and constructs the narrative from the most essential elements.
The author literally writes the movie while he executes it, rejecting convention
but having strict rigor in production and effectiveness. Author and Producer
are obligated to explore and comprehend filmmaking from the minimum, from
the most basic.
Endimia is a collaboration, a pact between parts. The main link lies in the re-
lationship between producer and author. Throughout a coloquial vision there
will be a series of action from authors (directors) than need the impulse to
progress and make bigger movies or to pick up projects that had been hard
to produce in the past because of the lack of people to work with. This could
be suggested as an exercise that awakens their creativity and to give back
the confidence they need to keep on going.
Endimia produced their first feature film a year ago, Golondrinas 33 from Re-
nato Ornelas, LuTo is the second feature from this seal, the third project will
be Me Quedo Contigo from Artemio Narro that is now in post- production.
