INFORMACIÓN GENERAL Este calentador de agua debe ser instalado conforme a códigos eléctricos e hidráulicos locales.. La garantía para este calentador de agua tiene efecto sólo cuando el calentador de agua es instalado, ajustado, y manejado conforme a este manual de instrucción, instalación y operación. El fabricante de este calentador no se hará responsable de ningún daño resultado del incumplimiento de estas instrucciones. Este calentador de agua ha sido diseñado con el objetivo de calentar el agua potable. La instalación y el empleo de este calentador de agua para algún otro propósito que la calefacción de agua potable, pueden causar daño al calentador de agua y crear una condición riesgosa, lo cual le hará perder la garantía. No use este aparato si cualquiera de sus partes ha sido sumergida en el agua. Deberá ponerse en contacto con el fontanero profesional responsable de la instalación para inspeccionar el equipo y sustituir cualquier parte del sistema de control, que haya sido sumergida en el agua o presente daño. Asegúrese que el voltaje sea suministrado correctamente al calentador de agua según el dato de placa, mediante una caja de disyuntores apropiados para el calentador. Este calentador para agua cuenta con un ánodo de sacrificio, el cual se usa para extender la vida del tanque. El retiro de este ánodo, por cualquier razón, anulará la garantía. Nota: el calentador debe ser revisado por un fontanero profesional o técnico calificado para su reparación.

IMPORTANTE Antes de proceder, por favor inspeccione el calentador para agua y los componentes para prevenir un posible daño. NO HAGA la instalación con algún componente dañado. Si el daño es evidente, por favor póngase en contacto con

el distribuidor donde el calentador para agua fue comprado o con el fabricante para adquirir las piezas de cambio.

ADVERTENCIA El uso del calentador para agua produce alta temperatura. Para evitar daños o heridas, no debe haber ningún material almacenado contra el calentador y debe tenerse el cuidado apropiado para evitar el contacto innecesario (sobre todo en niños) con el calentador para agua. EN NINGÚN CASO TENGA MATERIALES INFLAMABLES, COMO GASOLINA O PINTURA PARA SER USADOS O ALMACENADOS EN LOS ALREDEDORES DE ESTE CALENTADOR DE AGUA.

Después de la lectura de este manual y las instrucciones de funcionamiento, seleccione la posición para el calentador a nivel del piso, con una fuente de energía de fácil acceso y conexiones de agua adecuadas. Se recomienda que el calentador sea localizado cerca del punto de mayor uso de agua caliente para prevenir la perdida de calor por los tubos. Localice el calentador para agua de modo que el acceso a panel de control y válvulas sea fácil y rápido. La corrosión de calentador y el deterioro de los componentes pueden ser causados por la calefacción de vapores químicos aerotransportados. Los ejemplos de los compuestos más típicos potencialmente corrosivos son: el rocío de propelentes, limpiadores solventes, refrigerantes, químicos de piscina, el calcio o el sodio clorhídrico, ceras y procesos químicos. Estos materiales son corrosivos en niveles de concentración muy bajas con poco o ningún olor para revelar su presencia. NOTA: EL DAÑO CAUSADO POR LA EXPOSICIÓN O VAPORES CORROSIVOS NO ESTÁ CUBIERTO POR LA GARANTÍA. NO UTILICE EL CALENTADOR DE AGUA SI LA EXPOSICIÓN OCURRE. NO ALMACENE NINGÚN COMPUESTO POTENCIALMENTE CORROSIVO EN LOS ALREDEDORES DEL CALENTADOR PARA AGUA. Este calentador para agua debe ser localizado en un área donde la válvula de seguridad del tanque, conexiones de línea de agua y la válvula de drenaje en caso de derrame no causen daño al área adyacente al calentador o a los pisos de la estructura.

La temperatura del agua a 55ºC (125ºF) puede causar severas quemaduras o daños a la piel expuesta. Los niños, discapacitados y los adultos mayores requieren de atención para el uso del agua caliente. La válvula de seguridad es requerida, ver manual.

Felicidades, usted acaba de adquirir un producto de la más alta calidad. Antes de iniciar la instalación de su calentador para agua, le recomendamos leer cuidadosamente este manual. Es necesario que la persona que va a conectar el calentador tenga conocimientos en fontanería y electricidad. Instrucciones

1.- Como conectar el tanque a la tubería

• Los calentadores de Alta Recuperación SUPER ECONOMATIC están diseñados para suministrar agua caliente en el menor tiempo; a un promedio de 45 grados centígrados, por lo que se recomienda instalarlo lo más cerca posible del lugar donde se va a utilizar.

• El calentador debe colocarse siempre en posición vertical, tal como se muestra en la figura 1, con la entrada y la salida en la parte superior. Colóquelo en un lugar seco y protegido de la lluvia. Nunca instalar el calentador en cielorrasos, techos, entrepisos o cualquier otro que evite daños al área donde se encuentre instalado y dificulte las labores de reparación o mantenimiento propias del aparato.

• Para los modelos de alta recuperación, se recomienda realizar las conexiones de tuberías tal como se muestra en la figura 2, respetando los códigos mecánicos y eléctricos locales.

• Utilice tubería de hierro galvanizado tanto en la entrada como en la salida de agua del calentador tal como aparecen en la figura 2. No se recomienda usar pegamentos, masillas u otros para roscar estos niples al calentador, use solamente cinta de teflón

• Todos los modelos SUPER ECONOMATIC cuentan con una unión de ½” NPT en donde, se coloca la válvula de seguridad, como se muestra en la figura 2. En los modelos de 6 y 12 KW, la válvula está incluida (ver figura 2).

• En todos los modelos SUPER ECONOMATIC , se debe

contar con una línea de drenaje para evitar que el agua se derrame encima del aparato en caso de que se accione la válvula. Ver figura 2.

• No colocar válvula check en la entrada del calentador: Lo

recomendable es que la vivienda si la tenga a la entrada principal de agua, después del medidor.

• Coloque llaves de paso en la entrada y salida del calentador, por si es necesario quitarlo para labores de mantenimiento o reparación.

• Deben haber al menos 50 centímetros de tubo CPVC en

la línea de agua fría para evitar deformación en la tubería

Cuando haya conectado el calentador a la

tubería, abra las llaves de paso para llenarlo de

agua. Verifique lo anterior abriendo cualquier

salida para agua caliente y deje pasar el agua por

unos treinta segundos. Es indispensable realizar

esto antes de suministrar la corriente eléctrica al

calentador, ya que de lo contrario se dañarían las

resistencias del aparato.

2.- Conexión eléctrica de los calentadores Alta

Recuperación SUPER ECONOMATIC

• Los calentadores de Alta Recuperación SUPER ECONOMATIC están diseñados para que operen con un voltaje de 220 V monofásico.

• El calentador debe conectarse al sistema eléctrico de la vivienda en una instalación exclusiva para el aparato desde la caja de breackers o centro de carga. Evite hacer empalmes en los cables para llegar hasta el calentador, pues estos producen recalentamiento en las líneas.

• Use un breaker doble exclusivo para el calentador, bajo las recomendaciones que se presentan en la tabla de la figura Nº 4 . Identifique bien el breaker que corresponde al calentador en la caja de breaker o centro de carga para desconectarlo fácilmente de ser necesario.

• Recuerde que el calentador se alimenta con 240 voltios, las dos líneas rojas corresponden a las dos fases y la línea verde –amarillo corresponde a la línea de tierra de la casa (barra coperwell), que nunca debe dejarse sin conectar pues habría peligro de electrocución.

• Si no va a utilizar el calentador por más de dos días apague el breaker para protección de la tubería de agua fría.

3.- GARANTIA LIMITADA

1) THERMOSOLUTIONS GROUP SA en lo sucesivo denominado como "fabricante", sólo garantiza al comprador original quien en lo sucesivo se denominará el "propietario".

2) Esta garantía comienza su aplicación únicamente desde la fecha de compra del calentador. A fin de hacer efectiva esta garantía, el propietario deberá presentar la factura de compra del calentador de agua, ya que, la misma comienza a regir desde la fecha de compra de la factura. Si la factura no estuviera disponible, la fecha será tomada del número de serie que se indica en la placa del

calentador para agua, o de la fecha estampada en el tanque interno (pipa).

3) Esta garantía no es transferible y siempre acompañará al calentador para agua, durante la vigencia del período de garantía, con independencia de si se realiza un cambio de propietario.

4) La garantía para el calentador para agua será efectiva únicamente cuando se instala y mantiene de acuerdo con las instrucciones impresas que acompañan al calentador para agua, mismo que debe ser instalado de tal manera que, si el tanque o cualquier conexión del mismo presenta fugas de agua, no causará daños a la zona en la que está instalado. En un calentador para agua, la válvula de alivio por presión o por temperatura, debe estar conectada directamente a tuberías de drenaje para evitar daños en caso de que la válvula se active. Para obtener mayor información e instrucciones detalladas, refiérase al manual que acompaña al calentador para agua y revisar las graficas que ahí se indican.

5) El tanque interno - Si el tanque interno, presenta fugas debido perforaciones por defectos de fabricación o por oxidación, dentro del período de cinco años de la garantía; durante los dos primeros años de uso, el fabricante reparará o sustituirá con un nuevo tanque interior de la misma capacidad, sin ningún costo para el propietario. Para los restantes tres (3) años, la garantía será del 50% de la reparación o sustitución del costo de fabricación del tanque interno.

6) Partes eléctricas y/o sus partes - Si cualquier componente eléctrico como termostatos, resistencias y el timer, se demuestra a satisfacción del fabricante que presenta problemas de funcionamiento en su instalación en el calentador para agua, dentro del periodo de la garantía, el fabricante proporcionará al propietario una sustitución de la pieza defectuosa (s). Esta garantía es limitada para reemplazar una pieza eléctrica por una única vez durante el período de su garantía de 6 meses.

7) Accesorios tales como válvulas de seguridad y el cable de conexión eléctrica TSJ, tienen una garantía de un mes. Mangueras o tuberías de suministro no tienen ningún tipo de garantía.

8) El fabricante se reserva el derecho de examinar la presunta irregularidad en el calentador para agua o componente (s), cuando así lo considere conveniente y necesario

El propietario deberá presentar el reclamo de su garantía directamente al fabricante en su Centro de Servicio, si el usuario del producto, exige una visita técnica al lugar donde está instalado el calentador para agua para su revisión y está dentro de los noventa días de compra, esta visita será sin costo alguno para el propietario, en una distancia máxima de treinta kilómetros (30 km) desde Termo Solutions Group SA, situada en Santa Ana, San José.

10) Thermo Solutions Group, SA, no se hace responsable por los daños materiales causados por instalaciones inadecuadas, y que no cumplan con los requisitos del fabricante del producto, así como las normas y códigos de construcción, eléctricos y mecánicos. Por esta razón se recomienda que su instalación sea hecha por especialistas técnicos reconocidos en electricidad, fontanería y mecánica.

11) Los gastos de desmontaje y de mover el calentador hasta el centro de servicio en Thermo Solutions Group S.A., estará a cargo del propietario, así como la reinstalación del mismo. Thermosolutions Group S.A. no asume ninguna responsabilidad o compromiso para ello.

12) Cualquier traslado para una revisión técnica, o la reparación de un calentador (excepto tal como se describe en el apartado nueve), tendrá un costo de treinta dólares de Estados Unidos de América (US $ 30,00) o su equivalente en colones del tipo de cambio oficial fijado por el precio de compra de la moneda en el mercado local, dentro del rango de hasta treinta kilómetros (30KM) desde las instalaciones de Thermo Solutions Group SA, situada en Santa Ana, San José.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This water heater should be installed in accordance with the electrical and hydraulic local code. The warranty for this water heater apply only when the water heater is installed, adjusted and operated in accordance with this instruction and installation manual. The manufacturer of this water heater will not be liable for any damages caused by failure to comply with the installation and operations outline in this manual. This water heater has been designed to heat the water. The installation and use of this water heater for any other purpose, can damage the water heater and create a hazardous condition, and will lose the warranty. Do not use this water heater if any part has been submerged in water. You should contact the responsible professional plumber to inspect the installation of the heater and replace any part, which has been submerged in water or present damage. Make sure the correct voltage is supplied to the water heater according to the data plate, through a suitable circuit breaker box to the heater. This water heater has a anode rode, which is used to extend the life of the tank. The removal of this anode rode, for any reason will void the warranty. The heater should be checked by a professional plumber

or qualified technician for repair

Before proceeding, please inspect the water heater and components to prevent damage. DO NOT install some component damaged. If damage is evident, please contact the dealer where the water heater was purchased or the manufacturer to acquire the part of change.

WARNING The use of the water heater to produce high temperature. To avoid damage or injury, there must be no materials stored against the heater and appropriate care should be taken to avoid unnecessary contact (especially children) with the water heater. IN NO EVENT BE FLAMMABLE MATERIALS, SUCH AS GASOLINE OR PAINT TO BE USED OR STORED IN THE SURROUNDINGS OF THIS WATER HEATER.

After reading this manual and operating instructions, select the position for the heater to ground level, with an energy source readily accessible and adequate water connections. It is recommended that the heater is located near the highest point of use hot water to prevent loss of heat by the pipes. Locate the water heater with easy an fast access to valves and

control panel .

Water Heater corrosion and deterioration of the components can be caused by the heating of airborne chemical vapors. Examples of typical compounds potentially corrosive are: spray propellants, cleaning solvents, refrigerants, pool chemicals, calcium or sodium chloride, waxes and chemical processes. These materials are corrosive at very low concentration levels with little or no odor to detect their presence. NOTE: DAMAGE CAUSED BY EXPOSURE OR CORROSIVE VAPORS IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. DO NOT USE THE WATER HEATER IF EXPOSURE OCCURS. DO NOT STORE ANY POTENTIALLY CORROSIVE COMPOUNDS IN THE SURROUNDING WATER HEATER. This water heater must be located in an area where the safety valve of the tank, water line connections and the drain valve in the event of a spill will not cause harm to the area near to the heater or the floors of the structure.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.- How to connect your water heater to the pipe line

• The SUPERECONOMATIC high recovery water heater are designed to supply hot water in the shortest time, at an average of 45º C, so it is recommended to install it as close to the site to use. • The heater must be installed upwright as shown figure Nº 1 with the inlet and outlet at the top. The water heater should be located indoors an protective area to the rain. Never located in unconditioned spaces like basements, attics, roof, etc. or in areas where leakage of the tank or connections will not result in damage to lower floor of the structure. Due to the normal corrosive action of the water, the tank will eventually leak after an extended period of time. The drain and controls must be easily accessible for operation and service.

• High recovery model, should be installed in accordance with the indications as shown in figure Nº 2 and local mechanics and electrical codes.

• Use iron pipe (HG) at the entrance and the exit of the water heater as shown in Figure 2. It is not recommended to use adhesives, sealants for threaded the electric fittings to the heater, use only Teflon tape.

• All SUPER ECONOMATIC models have join ½"

NPT which is placed the safety valve, as shown in Figure 2. In models 6 and 12 KW, the valve is included (see Figure 2).

• All SUPER ECONOMATIC models, should have a

drain line to prevent water from spilling over the heater where the valve is operated. See Figure 2.

• No check valve placed at the entrance of the heater:

is recommended to install one at the entrance of the house before the water meter.

• Install a shut off valve in the cold water inlet line located close to the water heater for maintenance and repairs.

• The heater must be installed at least with 20 inches

of CPVC pipe in cold water line to prevent deformation in the pipe.

After connect the heater to the pipe line, be sure tank is completely filled by opening any shut off hot valves and leaving it open for 30 seconds. It is essential to do this before supplying electric energy to the heater. Applying electrical power to elements that are not submerged in water will destroyed them.

2.- Electrical connection to the High Recovery SUPER ECONOMATIC water heater.

• The supereconomatic High Recovery water heater, are

designed to operate with a voltage of 220/240 V single phase.

• The heater must be connected to the electrical system in an exclusive for the device from the box of breackers. Stave off splices in the cables as they produce heat in the lines.

• Use a double breaker exclusive for the heater, under the

recommendations presented in the table of Figure No. 4. Identify either the breaker corresponding to the heater in the box or load center breaker to disconnect easily if necessary.

• Remember that the heater is powered with 240 volts, the

two red lines correspond to the two phases and the yellow-green line corresponds to the ground line (bar coperwell), which should never be left connected as a danger electrocution.

3.- LIMITED WARRANTY

1. THERMOSOLUTIONS GROUP S.A. herein after referred to as “Manufacturer”, warrants only to the original consumer purchaser, hereinafter “Owner”.

2. This warranty begins on the date of purchase. In order to validate this warranty, the user must shown the purchase invoice of the water heater, since, the warranty begins on the date of the invoice. If the invoice is not available the date will taken from serial number plate on the water heater cabinet, or stamped date on the inner tank (pipa)

3. This warranty is not transferable and always will accompany the water heater while its remains effective, independently the owner change. APPLICATIONS

4. The water heater is warranted only when it is installed and maintained in accordance with the printed instructions accompanying the water heater. The water heater should be installed in such a manner that, if the tank or any connection thereto should leak, the resulting flow of water will not cause damage to the area in which it is installed. A water heater´s temperature and pressure relief valve must be piped to nearest drain to avoid damage in the event the valve is actuated. For detailed instructions read the user´s manual accompanying the water heater and review the picture inside

5. The inner tank - If the inner tank leaks due to manufacturing flaws or perforations by rust, within the five years of

warranty period, the Manufacturer during the first two year of use, the internal tank is repaired or replaced with a new inner tank of comparable capacity, without any cost to the user. To the rest three year of use, the warranty will be applied 50% of manufacturing cost of the inner tank.

6. Electrical or component parts – If any electric component part as thermostats, resistance and timer, proves to Manufacturer´s satisfaction to be defective in material or workmanship within the warranty period listed on the data plate label, the Manufacturer will furnish the owner with a replacement for the defective part(s). This limited warranty is to replace an electric part one time during the warranty period of 6 months.

7. Accessories such as safety valves and electrical connection cable TSJ have a warranty of a month. Pipes supplies or hoses do n ot have any warranty.

8. Manufacturer reserves the right to examine the alleged defect in the water heater or component part(s)

9. How the owner can make a warranty claim: The owner should submit the warranty claim directly to Manufacturer at its Service Center, If the user of the product, require a technical visit to the place where the water heater is installed for review within ninety days of purchase this visit will be without any cost to the user, within a maximum of thirty Kms (30KM) from the Thermo Solutions Group SA, located in Santa Ana, San Jose.

10. Thermo Solutions Group S.A., is not responsible for damage to property caused by improper installations, and not complying with the requirements of the manufacturer of the product, as well as building codes, electrical and mechanical. For this reason it is recommended that it be made by technical specialists in electrical, plumbing and mechanical.

11. The costs for disassembly and move the heater up service center at Thermo Solutions Group S.A. will be borne by the

user, as well as resettlement. The Company does not assume any responsibility or commitment for this.

12. Any transfer for a technical review, or repair your heater (except as discussed in the nine paragraph), will cost thirty dollars of United States of America (USD $ 30.00) or equivalent in colons exchange rate set by the purchase price of the currency in the local market, within the range up to thirty miles of the facilities of Thermo Solutions Group S.A., located in Santa Ana, San Jose.
