This bag is inspired in the old crinoline that ladies used to wear to hoop the back of their skirts.In this detail of la Poseur from Seurat, the “bag” that hangs on the right side of the lady is a crinoline.It’s a new concept of bag, you hang it on your hips and you keep your things on the back.

These are the illustrations for a poem called “Der Hecht” from Joachim Riengelnatz. It’s the story of a family of fish that eat all kind of fish. Saint Anton appears to them and tells them to turn to vege-terians. They start to eat vegetables and they have to poo very ba-dly. They intoxicate the lake, and they kill 500 fish. All of those poor dead little fish are turned into martyrs by Saint Anton. The poem, even that it’s quite hard, it’s written for children and it is related to the young people that die in wars and become heroes.

Estas son las ilustraciones de un poema del poeta alemán Joachim Riengelnatz, es la historia de una familia de lucios (un pez de rio, carníboro) que se le aparece San Antón y les dice que se hagan vegetarianos. Empiezan a comer verdura (al revés que el resto de su especie) y les cogen cagarrinas, que intoxican el rio y matan a 500 peces. Entonces estos peces muertos, San Antón los hace mártires.El poema aún que sea bastante amargo está pensado para niños y tiene alguna similitud con los jovenes que mueren en las guerras y que después se los trata de héroes.

Esta pieza en porcelana es la “g” de la tipografia Franklin Gothic. Es un tributo a Franklin Gothic y al gráfico. En los “ojos” se pueden poner bolígrafos, está pensada para ser un objeto de escritorio. Las hice en los talleres de cerámica de la Bauhaus en Weimar (Alemania).

This porcelain piece is a “g” of the tipography Franklin Gothic. It’s a tribute to Franklin gothic and to the graphic design. In it’s “eyes” you can put pens and pencils, it is thought for being a desk object. I did them in the ceramics workshop in Bauhaus University, Weimar (Germany).

Albert, un joven universitario de primer curso, que acaba de instalarse en Barcelona. Un dia compra unas pastillas de caldo muy comunes, llamadas caldo NAFECREM, al hacerse la sopa le sorprende un pollo que ha salido de la olla del caldo.

Extrañado al principio por la surrealista situación lo alimenta y cuida, y termina cogiéndole mucho cariño, se convierte en la mascota del piso de estudiantes, le dan de comer pan seco y se divierten haciéndole hacer acrobacias.

Albert lo saca a pasear por el parque la de Ciutadella donde juega con perros y palomas. La vida había cambiado para Albert, se sentía bien acompañado con su mascota, hasta que el día que hacía un mes que vivian juntos, el pollo sufrió un ataque al corazón y murió. El joven tubo un gran disgusto. Sintiéndose muy solo crecieron las ansias de resolver el porqué de la aparición y muerte repentina sin causa aparente de su pollo. Investigó la fabrica de pastillas de caldo, fue hasta allí para averiguar el verdadero proceso de nanoavefilización con que informaba la caja de Nafecrem que hacían las pastillas concentradas y descubrió lo cruel que realmente era. La nano-ave-filización es una técnica secreta para obtener productos de sabor con-centrado como las pastillas de caldo, como su nombre indica significa; minúscula-ave-deshidratada.

Albert descubrió que la fábrica de NAF (siglas de el proceso) se dedicaba a encoger pollos vivos y deshidratarlos en un horrible proceso que el pudo ver con sus propios ojos, un día que se coló en la fábrica. Desde aquel momento, de tanta rabia y dolor, entendió que su pollo habia sobrevivido a ese cruel proceso, pero las secuelas lo mataron más tarde. Al ver lo que les hacían a los animales Albert empezó la lucha para parar esa atrocidad. La dirección de la NAF no le hizo ningún caso pero consi-guió movilizar a mucha gente en contra y montar la plataforma contra el nafismo, bajo el lema de “Monta el pollo contra la NAF”.

Esta história con aires de reveldia demuestra como los jóvenes aparentemente conformistas pueden llegar a luchar por una causa que realmente les motive.

Sinópsis de “El misterio de la NAF”

Albert, a first year university student, has just moved to Barcelona. One day, he buys some soup cubes NAFECREM. When he wants to make himself some soup, a living chicken comes out of the pot.

First he gets quite surprised with the situation, but he feeds the chicken and looks after it and he ends up loving him a lot. It becomes his and his flatmates pet, they feed him with dry bread and they have fun making him performe acro-batics.

Albert takes him for walks at the Ciutadella park, where he plays with the dogs and pigeons. Albert’s live has changed, he feels he has good company, but a month after the chicken dies from a heart attack.The young man gets very upset. He feels very lonely without the chicken, and he decides to find out why his pet appeared and died suddenly. He starts to investi-gate the soup cubes factory. He goes there and finds out about the real nanoave-filización process that they use to produce the cubes and how cruel it really is.The nano-ave-filización is a secret technique to get soup cubes, as its name says: minuscule-bird-dehydrating.

Albert slips inside the NAF factory and can see with his own eyes the horrible process: they take chicken and dehydrate them alive. Since that moment of so much pain and sorrow, he understands that his chicken had survived to that cruel process, but could not live very long. When he sees what they do to other ani-mals, he starts to fight against this cruelty. The management of the NAF don’t pay any atention to him at first, but he gets to mobilize many others and they create an organisation against nafism.

This story shows how young people, that even if they might seem conformist, can get to fight for a cause that really motivates them.

My name is Claudia Rifaterra, I am 24 years old. I’m on my 4rd year on graphic design in Elisava (Barcelona), I have done two years of industrial and interior design and now I’m interested in ilustration and fine arts.

I did my primary and secondary studies in Tarragona (Spain) and two years in Dublin, where I did the Leaving Certificate.

In 2007, I won an award with the design of a wine labels for Bodegas Protos, one of the most prestigious Spanish wines. I have worked in an Architect’s studio and in a Graphic designer’s studio.

This winter semester I have been in the Bauhaus in Weimar (Germany).
