| ©2014 Mitel. Proprietary and Confidential.| ©2014 Mitel. Proprietary and Confidential.
•Login - usuario: admin / password 22222.

SIP-DECT for Campus Mobility
SIP-DECT – perfect mobility solution for inhouse and campus
Profits from the DECT standard:
Dedicated RF band – no disturbing radiation from non DECT
Today mobile traffic explodes Spectrum matters
DECT spectrum is still protected against this overload
Seamless handover with SIP-DECT
DECT security for voice encryption,
SIP-DECT is certified according the DECT security handbook
High voice quality – better than any GSM
Low radiation – qualified for use in hospitals (most areas)
High range (~ doubled against WLAN)
That gives big advantage over VoWLAN or any near field RF

Single DECT vs. DECT Multicell Network
Standard Single DECT Base
A DECT base can cover
~30…50m radius – depending on
building materials
Each DECT base uses own clock
– interference and call
disturbance provoked
Single bases handle 4
simultaneous calls
Repeater needs additional
channels
No handover between bases
SIP-DECT Multicell Network
A network can cover large buildings
or a complete campus
All bases are synchronised – 120
air channels available
Each DECT base handles up to 8
calls simultaneously
Number of simultaneous calls in a
area mainly limited by density of
bases
Seamless handover in whole
area
| ©2014 Mitel. Proprietary and Confidential.| ©2014 Mitel. Proprietary and Confidential.
Scalability – Fits for all sizes
Same technology from 1 up to 4.096 DECT bases
Server-less for systems up to 256 radio bases
Linux DECT server for large cellular networks
Virtualisation of DECT server functionality (OMM)
Up to 10.000 DECT handsets configurable in one solution
What is the dubious OMM? – OpenMobility Manager
SW on RFP for up to 256 RFPs – no additional controller hardware
…on external Linux server for larger systems
…or virtualised

• External triggered acoustic alarm in the missing
handset (‘key finder’) and history tracking
XML interface
• Large range of external applications and services
Integrated messaging and alerting solution

DECT XQ – Better Voice Quality
In reflecting areas the interference of radio frequencies
could result in heavy audio disturbance
The reason could be e.g. sheet metal building, metal
rack storage area etc.
Mitel developed a solution for best voice quality in such
surroundings
DECT XQ – Extended Quality – can solve those
problems in most cases
DECT XQ is selectively activated in those areas
