Dimmers & Lamps

SES offers a comprehensive choice of low voltage DC lampdimmers. Most of the dimmers are fully compatible toswitches and socket outlets of well known Europeanmanufacturers. This gives the advantage of exact visual andmechanical fit.

Of course the matching switches and socket outlets are avail-able from SES too, as well as special Halogen and Xenonlamps for on board use as for example for 14v or 28v.

Should the shown articles not reflect the wished component,SES is the competent house to develop the state-of-the-artcustom-tailored solution for you.

p.s. Besides halogen lamps, the shown Dimmers are in mostcases also suitable for constant voltage LED lamps CV.However complete LED Lighting is listed in a separatebrochure as well as the comprehensive programme.

Remote ControlDimming System

Das Remote Control Dimming System bietet modulareLeistungserhöhung und die Wahl zwischen Drehknopf- undTasterbetätigung. Die Leistungserhöhung erfolgt stufen-weise mit den Slave-Modulen. Als Besonderheit könnendiese Module einzeln zu- oder abgeschaltet werden.Zur Mehrstellenbetätigung mit Tastern kommt der Digitrol-ler zum Einsatz. Als Taster lassen sich handelsüblicheAuf/Ab Versionen verwenden. Darüber hinaus erlaubt derDigitroller den Anschluß einer IR-Fernbedienung.Damit ist das Remote Control System an jede Anforderunganpassbar. Systemübersicht:

Proven Problem solversThe 28V and the 14V bulb solve the pre-mature failure problem associated withrunning from the vehicles DC supply. Tips ‘nTricks

Using the Spotmat for Power LED DimmingAlthough the Spotmat is intended for dimming incandescentlamps, it also offers a cost-effective solution for dimmingPower LED’s. This is based on the PWM (pulse width modu-lation) output of the Spotmat.

Each Power LED requires a constant current which is nor-mally supplied by a LED driver. The LED driver is inte-grated in the LED-Light or in line to the LED-Light. If theSpotmat is used, the PWM signal switches the power to theLED driver continuously on and off. This ratio of pulse topause governs the LED brightness. However if the Spotmatis used, the minimum brightness level can not be as low aswith integrated dimming regulation directly in the LEDdriver. An experiment shows best the obtainable dimmingrange, especially to the lower end.

There are no other means to dim LED-Lights with built in orin-line fixed brightness LED drivers as with the Spotmat as aPWM regulator.

The SPOTMAT output power limits the number of maximumdimmable LED’s.

Obwohl der Spotmat zur Dimmung von Glühlampenkonzipiert ist, bietet er auch eine kostengünstige Lösung zurDimmung von Power LED’s. Diese basiert auf dem PWM-(Pulsweitenmodulation) Ausgangssignal des Spotmat.

Jede Power LED benötigt einen konstanten Strom, der nor-malerweise von einem Treiber erzeugt wird. Der Treiberbefindet sich in der LED-Leuchte oder ist dieser vorgeschal-tet. Bei Verwendung des Spotmat schaltet dieser die Ver-sorgungsspannung zum LED-Treiber zyklisch durch dasPWM Signal ein- und aus. Dieses Puls-/Pausenverhältnisbestimmt die Helligkeit der LED’s. Zu beachten ist jedoch,daß bei der Lösung mit dem vorgeschalteten Spotmat dieLED-Helligkeit nicht so weit nach unten geregelt werdenkann wie bei regelbaren LED-Treibern. Ein Versuch mit denzu regelnden LED-Leuchten zeigt hier den erzielbaren, meisteingeschränkten Regelbereich.

Es gibt keine anderen Regelmöglichkeiten bei LED-Leuchten mit eingebauten oder vorgeschalteten, fest einges-tellten Treibern als mit dem Spotmat als PWM-Regler.

Die Ausgangsleistung des Spotmat begrenzt die Anzahl dermaximal dimmbaren Power LED’s.
