Normas I so 10545- 1 3 • I so 10545- 14Característica: Resistencia química (10545-13) y Resistencia a las manchas (10545-14).- Esta norma define el método para el ensayo y el valor mínimo que debe dar la prueba a determinados agentes químicos que pueden atacar a las superficies esmaltadas de cada modelo.- Hay que prestar especial atención a los decorados que se realizan en cocción posterior sobre los revestimientos.- Estos decorados suelen tener una resistencia química diferente a la de las bases sobre las que están aplicados, por lo que hay queprestar especial atención primero a este detalle, sobre todo si se utilizan decorados elaborados con oro y/o platino que son másdelicados, y en los que debe evitarse el uso de detergentes abrasivos o excesivamente enérgicos, así como la indebida manipula-ción deestos productos, evitándose rozaduras y rayados.- Para medir la resistencia a las manchas, las soluciones a utilizar se aplican, se dejan secar y a continuación se examinan las piezas.- Para medir la resistencia a los agentes químicos como productos de limpieza y aditivos usados en la limpieza de piscinas, el ensayo seefectúa sometiendo la superficie esmaltada a la acción de estos productos durante 6 horas.- Para los ácidos y álcalis, el ensayo se efectúa según el procedimiento anterior pero por un período de 7 días; su valoración, es lasiguiente: ·Valoración para agentes de limpieza y sales para piscinas. GA - Cuando no existe efecto visible (un ligero cambio de color no es considerado como un ataque químico). GB - Cuando no se modifica el aspecto. GC - Cuando existe una desaparición total o parcial de la superficie original. ·Valoración visual ácidos y álcalis. GLA - Cuando no existe efecto visible (un ligero cambio de color no es considerado como un ataque químico). GLB - Cuando no se modifica el aspecto. GLC - Cuando existe una desaparición total o parcial de la superficie original. ·Para las manchas, su valoración es la siguiente: GHA - No lo ataca. GHB - Lo ataca. GHC - Se queda manchado.

NoRmA I So 10545-7Característica; Resistencia a la abrasión superficial de las baldosas (método PEI).- Este ensayo determina la resistencia a la abrasión del esmalte de las baldosas para pavimento, mediante la rotación de una cargaabrasiva sobre su superficie y posterior examen de su aspecto exterior.- Se consideran cuatro valores: Clase I - Efecto visible a partir de 150 revoluciones. Clase II - Efecto visible a partir de 600 revoluciones. Clase III - Efecto visible a partir de 750 revoluciones. Clase IV - Efecto visible a partir de 2.100 revoluciones. Clase V - Efecto visible a partir de 12.000 revoluciones.

·- Se recomienda su uso según la clase obtenida en: PEI I - Utilización exclusiva en el cuarto de baño privado. PEI II - Utilización exclusiva en el cuarto de baño y habitaciones interiores. PEI II I - Utilización en cualquier espacio de la casa excepto en la cocina. PEI IV - Utilización en cualquier espacio privado inclusive cocina y garaje, así como habitaciones de hotel y restaurantes. PEI V - Utilización en todos los espacios arriba mencionados y zonas de acceso al público con tránsito moderado a medio.

NoRmA EN 67- 10 1 -92Característica: Dureza al rayado de la superficie (método moHS).·- Determina la dureza al rayado de la superficie de una baldosa cerámica.·- Para determinar su valor se somete al rayado de la pieza por diferentes minerales de dureza conocida que van desde el 1 quecorresponde al Talco al 10 que corresponde al Diamante y significa que dicho esmalte puede ser rayado por un objeto cuya dureza seasimilar al mineral que corresponda según la escala, considerando que a valor más alto más resistente al rayado.·- Este valor debe leerse comparándolo con el del PEI y tendrá mayor o menor significado según el uso que se le vaya a dar.

más adelante se dan en cuadro separado para cada modelo, los valores de resistencia a los agentes químicos y a las manchas para el revestimiento, y los mismos más la resistencia a la abrasión y la dureza al rayado, para los pavimentos. Tanto la resistencia a la abrasión como la dureza del rayado, pierden su significado en los revestimientos por lo que para ello no se dan estos valores.

NoRmA EN 144 1 1 : 2004La norma EN 14411:2004, define, clasifica y marca las características y requisitos de las baldosas cerámicas general-mente utilizadas para revestimientos de paredes y suelos.- Según la misma, son baldosas cerámicas:“... placas de poco grosor fabricadas con arcillas, sílicas, fundentes, colorantes y otros materiales, generalmente utilizadas como revestimiento para paredes, suelos y fachadas”.“Se fabrican mediante molturación- y se moldean por prensado- generalmente a la temperatura ambiente”.“Seguidamente son secadas y posteriormente cocidas a altas temperaturas”.“Las baldosas cerámicas pueden ser esmaltadas... y son incombustibles e inalterables a la luz”.- Según dicha norma:“El esmalte es una cubierta vitrificada y prácticamente impermeable”.“Son de monococción: las baldosas esmaltadas en crudo y sometidas a una sola cocción”.“Baldosas prensadas son las formadas de una masa reducida a polvo o pequeños gránulos y moldeadas en matrices a alta presión”.- Distingue distintos conceptos en la medida: medida nominal: Es la utilizada para designar el producto. medida de fabricación: Es la prevista para su fabricación. medida real: Es la que realmente resulta de una medición. Tolerancia: Es la diferencia, según la Norma ISo 10545-2, entre los límites admisibles de cada medida.- Según la absorción de agua (E), distingue: Grupo I: Absorción de agua inferior al 3% (E<3%) Grupo IIa: Absorción de agua entre el 3% y el 6% (3%<E<6%) Grupo IIb: Absorción de agua entre el 6% y el 10 % (6%<E<10%) Grupo III: Absorción de agua superior al 10% (E>10%)- Por su fabricación, se divide en: Baldosas extruidas. Baldosas prensadas en seco. Baldosas coladas.- Todos los productos fabricados por NoVoGRES, son del tipo B y de los grupos Ib, IIa, II I según el siguiente detalle: Pavimento: BIb y BIIa Revestimiento: BIIIEstán fabricadas por prensado, vía seca a partir de arcillas rojas atomizadas y en un proceso de monococción.Establecemos a continuación un cuadro comparativo en el que se reflejan las características a analizar, la norma que los contempla, el valor de la norma y el valor del producto NoVoGRES.

Technical Norms

NoRmS I So 10545- 1 3 , I So 10545- 14Characteristic: Chemical stain resistance.- This norm defines the method for the test and the minimum result obtained by the test with specific chemical agents, which could corrode the enamelled surface of each model.- Special attention has to be given to painted decorations, which are baked posterior on the final wall tiles.- These decorations have a different chemical resistance to one of the bases, to which they are applied, so that special attention has to be paid first, specially to elaborate decorations with gold and/or platinum which are more delicate and on which the use of abrasive or too energetic detergents shall be avoided, also like the improper manipulation of these products, avoiding frictions and scratches.- To measure stain resistance apply the solutions which will be used, leave them to dry and then examine the pieces.- To measure the resistance to the chemical agents, like cleaning products and additives used for cleaning swimming pools, the test will be made by exposing the enamelled surface to the effects of mentioned products during 6 hours.- The test for acids and alkalis will be carried out like the former described process, but with an exposing period of 7 days.- The following standardisation is applyable for cleaning products and additives for cleaning swimming pools: GA - There is no visible effect. (A light change of colour is not considered as a chemical attack). GB - There is not a change of the exterior appearance. GC - There is a total or partial disappearance of the original surface.- The following standardisation is applyable for acids and alkalis: GLA - There is no visible effect. (A light change of colour is not considered as an acid or alkalis attack). GLB - There is not a change of the exterior appearance. GLC - There is a total or partial disappearance of the original surface.- The following standarization is applicable for stains: GHA - It does not corrode the enamel. GHB - It corrodes the enamel. GHB - It gets stained.

NoRm I So 10545-7Characteristic: Resistance of floor tiles to superficial abrasion (method PEI)- This test determines the resistance of floor tiles through rotation of an abrasive load on the surface and posterior examination of its external appearance.- Four values are considered: Class I - Visible effect after 150 revolutions. Class II - Visible effect after 600 revolutions. Class III - Visible effect after 750 revolutions. Class IV - Visible effect after 2.100 revolutions. Class V - Visible effect after 12.000 revolutions.- Its application is advisable according to the obtained classification in: PEI I - Floor tiles to use only in the bathroom PEI II - Floors tiles to use in the bathroom and interiors room. PEI II I - Floor tiles to use all around house excepting the kitchen. PEI IV - Floor tiles to use all around house including the kitchen and garage and also hotel rooms and restaurants. PEI V - Floor tiles to use in all rooms above mentioned and also public places with a medium transit.

NoRm EN 67- 10 1 -92Characteristic: Scratch hardness of the surface (method moHS)- Determines scratch hardness of the surface of a ceramic tile.- To determine its value, the piece is exposed to scratches by different minerals, whose hardness is known, starting from number 1, which belongs to talc, up to 10, which belongs to diamond. It indicates that the enamel of the piece can be scratched by an object whose hardness is similar to the one of the mineral classified by the scale, considering, the higher the value, the more scratch resistance.- This value has to be read comparing it with the value of PEI, it will have much, or little significance according to the use you will give it.

Following, the values of resistance to chemical agents and stains in wall tiles, the vale of abrasive resistance and scratch hardness for floor tiles will be shown in a separate chart for each model.The abrasive resistance and scratch hardness lose significance in wall tiles, therefore no values are given.

NoRm EN 144 1 1 : 2004The norm EN 14411: 2004 defines, classifies and points out the characteristics and requirements of ceramic tiles, gene-rally used for wall tiles of walls and floors.·- According to this norm ceramic tiles are:“...panels of thin thickness fabricated with clays, silicas, fusings, dyes and other materials, generally used for wall tiles of walls, floors and frontages.”“They are manufactured by means of molturation- and casted by pressure- generally at ambiental temperature.”“After that they are dried and later on baked with high temperatures.”“The ceramic tiles can be enamelled... and are fireproof and light fast.”·- According to this norm:“The enamel is a vitrified wall tiles and practically waterproof”.“Single fired: floor tiles pressed glazed and fired once.”“Pressed tiles are the ones formed from a mixture, reduced to powder or small grains and cast at high pressure in moulds.”·- It distinguishes different concepts in measures: Nominal measure: is the one used to specify the product. measure for fabrication: is the planned one for its fabrication. Real measure: is the one really obtained by measurement. Allowance: is the difference, according to the Norm EN 98, between the admissible limits of measure.·- It distinguishes according to the absorption of water (E): Type I: Absorption of water inferior to 3% (E<3%) Type IIa: Absorption of water between 3% and 6% (3%<E<6%) Type IIb: Absorption of water between 6% and 10% (6%<E<10%) Type III: Absorption of water superior to 10% (E>10%)·- For its fabrications, they divide in: Tiles made by extrusion Dry pressed tiles Casted tiles.- All products manufactured by NoVoGRES are of type Band types Ib, IIa, II I, according to the following detail: Floor tiles: BIb and BIIa. Wall tiles: BIIIThey are manufactured by pressure, dry method, from red atomized clays and by single-firing system.Following, we set up a comparative chart which reflects the characteristics to analyse, the norm which is considered, the value of the norm and the value of the product NoVoGRES.

CoLoCACIÓN DE PAVImENToS EN EL EXTERIoRLos pavimentos cerámicos para exteriores están siempre sometidos a condiciones atmosféricas adversas, que pueden provocar daños irremediables a cualquier material que se utilice. Son perjudiciales en particular la humedad, el hielo, los rápidos y bruscos cambios de temperatura con fuertes dilataciones y contracciones.Por lo tanto, es indispensable que para cada aplicación en exterior, las obras de albañilería se realicen con los oportunos conocimientos de los problemas técnicos inherentes e indispensables para una mayor durabilidad. En particular, son esenciales las pendientes, las impermeabilizaciones, las juntas de dilatación, los materiales para el asiento, ...

PENDIENTES E ImPERmEABILIZACIÓNNo existe ningún pavimento exento absolutamente de infiltraciones de humedad. Por lo tanto, es básico aislar la obra de mam-postería bajo el pavimento, de forma que se evite, en caso de infiltraciones húmedas a través de las juntas, la formación de rebalsas bajo el pavimento, porque en caso de hielo, el resultado sería el alzamiento de las baldosas o la posible aparición de fracturas de tipo concoideo. Además, rebalsas prolongadas en contacto con morteros y hormigones conducen a la formación de sales complejas seguidas por fuertes aumentos de volumen. La elevada presión resultante provoca la subida en superficie por capilaridad de las sales, formación de manchas, y despegos violentos del esmalte de los azulejos asentados. Evidentemente, una colocación realizada utilizando los adhesivos específicos para exteriores, está en condiciones de evitar la gran mayoría de estos inconvenientes, pero en los casos donde no haya impermeabilización, el agua filtrada bajo el pavimento ocasionará graves daños. Los responsables de las obras tendrán, por lo tanto, que prever las oportunas pendientes, a fin de garantizar que el paso del agua bajo el pavimento se desvíe hacia el exterior, evitando rebalsas. De este modo, será conveniente la impermeabilización con los materiales adecuados.Novogres S. A. no se responsabiliza de los daños sufridos en colocaciones realizadas con morteros o soluciones tradicionales, o aquellas que se realicen con productos que no sean específicos para condiciones climatológicas extremas. En estos casos, es decir, en condiciones de climatología adversa, recomendamos dirigirse a un profesional de colocación especializado, que siga perfecta-mente todas las pautas de uso y de colocación de material en el exterior.

NoRmAS DE LImPIEZA Y mANTENImIENTo:Después de la colocación es fundamental realizar una buena limpieza para eliminar residuos de junta y en general suciedad de la obra. Es aconsejable el empleo de un detergente de acción ligeramente ácida que no despida humos tóxicos y respete las juntas, el material y el usuario, como Fila Deterdek. Para un buen mantenimiento del pavimento se aconseja el empleo de un detergente neutro de alto poder limpiador como Fila Cleaner. En los casos de suciedad orgánica intensa y acumulada en el tiempo, grasas, etc., se aconseja la utilización extraordinaria de un detergente de tipo desengrasante como el Fila PS/87.

INSTALLATIoN oF EXTERIoR FLooR TILESFloor ceramic tiles in exterior areas will be subject to adverse atmospheric conditions, that could cause irreparable damage. In parti-cular those such as humidity, ice or quick changes of temperature, that will produce extreme expansion and contraction of the area. Therefore, it is indispensable that for each exterior installation, the correct setting materials and knowledge of the technical difficulties involving this type of work, be known to guarantee the durability of the final result. Elements such as correct slopes, waterproofing methods and expansion joints are fundamental.

SLoPES AND WATERPRooFINGNo laid flooring may be considered to be completely free from moisture infiltrations. It is therefore of fundamental importance, to prepare the floor foundation to so, to prevent the formation of harmful pockets of water under the floor in the event of moisture infiltrations through the joints. In the event of frost, these would lift the tiles on top, or even would cause the appearance of under glaze shell-like cracking. In addition, prolonged water accumulation in contact with mortar and concrete, could cause the formation of salt deposits. As a result, a higher pressure will produce the effect known as “efflorescence”, in which accumulated mineral salt concentrations raise to the surface of the tile, originate spots and lift of the glazed surface. By always using setting materials specifically designed for exterior ceramic tile installations, we will avoid the majority of problems associated with this type of setting. If waterproofing, such as the use of membranes, is not performed, water that gets under the tile will cause significant damages.Contractors and installers will have to create inclines in order to facilitate water flow under the tiles and diverting it towards the exte-rior. This will avoid water accumulation under the installation. It is recommended to use waterproofing materials for exterior installations.Novogres S.A. is not responsible for damages caused by installations performed with traditional mortars, or setting materials not recommended for exterior installations subject to severe weather conditions. For this type of installation, we recommend it to be done by a certified professional installer that will follow all norms and required steps to accomplish a good installation of ceramic tile for outside areas.

CLEANING AND PRESERVATIoN NoRmS:It is essential after the tiling to effects a deep cleaning of the surface to eliminate any solid waste of adhesive cement or joint material.It is advisable to use an acid washing detergent, such as Fila Deterdek, which do not emit any toxic fumes and do not damage the surface and the joints.For the good maintenanceof the floor tile we advise to use a neutral and powerful cleaner detergent as Fila Cleaner. In particular case of a heavy organic dirt or intense greasy surface, we do recommend an extraordinary washing detergent as Fila PS187 wich remove the grease immediately.
