Oraciones pasivas: Forma

ACTIVA PASIVA

The car is washed

The car is being washed

The car was washed

The car was being washed

The car has been washed

The car had been washed

They wash the car

They are washing the car

They washed the car

They were washing the car

They have washed the car

They had washed the car

Oraciones pasivas: Forma

Después de will, be going to, have to y los demás verbos modales, se usa el infinitivo be + un participio pasado:

ACTIVA PASIVA

The car will be washed

The car is going to be washed

The car has to be washed

The car can be washed

The car should be washed

They will wash the car

They are going to wash the car

They have to wash the car

They haven’t wash the car

The car hasn’t been washed

Have they washed the car?

Has the car been washed?

¿Activa o pasiva?

Marconi invented the radio

The radio was invented by Marconi

La preposición by

We were stopped by the police

The streets are cleaned everyday (who cleans the streets is less important than the fact that they are cleaned)

The money was stolen (we don’t need to say by a thief)

This kind of jacket is considered very smart (by whom?)

Oraciones activas con you, one, they, people, someone…

En lugar de la pasiva, podemos usar oraciones activas con sujetos “vacíos” o impersonales, tales como you, one, they, people, someone:

ACTIVA PASIVA

The details should be checked

The rents are being increased

This footpath is used everyday

My wallet was taken

You/One should check the details

They’re increasing the rents

People use this footpath everyday

Someone took my wallet

The Greek gave the Trojans a giant horse

The Trojans were given a giant horse

A giant horse was given to the Trojans

The Trojans were given a giant horse

A government minister was sent a letter bomb

Tony is paid €300 a week

They say the bridge is unsafe

It is said the bridge is unsafe

They say the bridge is unsafe

The bridge is said to be unsafe

Verbos de “información” son: say, report, think, believe, understand, know, expect, hope, etc...
