This manual k publkhed under the authority of DoD Directive 4130.2, The Federal Catalog System. The procedures k thismanual provide a provisioning and other preprocurement screening service to meet the requirements of DoD activities,other Federal Government activities, and contractors acting as Government Agents complying with the mandate ex
Pin DoD Directive 4130.2. These procedures may also be used for file searches to meet other requirements. DoD 41 ; 8%1dated July 1982 is hereby cancelled.
This manual is effective immediately and will be used by activities within the Department of Defense and by Defense con-tractors when contractually authorized to participate in provisioning or other preprocurement screening. Similarly, thismanual has been authorized for use by Civil Agencies. All new contracts and solicitations requiring provisioning screeningafter November 1, 1983, will require compliance with this manual. AU screening requests submitted to the Defense LogisticsServices Center after November 1, 1983, will require compliance with the provisions of this manual.
The data elements, data element configurations, input and output formats, and data interchange conventions contained inthe manual comply with DoD Manual 41 OO.39-M, Defense Integrated Data System (DIDS) Procedures Manual.
This manual was developed and will be maintained in coordination with the Military Departments, Defense Agencies, CivilAgencies and industrial associations. Recommendations for additions, deletions, and changes should be forwarded to HQDLA, ATTN: DLA-SC, Cameron Station, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
