Phoenix Mecano is a multinational firm group with central

headquarters in Switzerland. Its main activity is the manufacture

of different components for several industries. It has several

manufacturing plants throughout the world. Its products are

present on all five continents, and its sales network covers the

whole world. In 1993 the parent company established its most

important subsidiary, Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft., as a

wholly owned (100%) subsidiary, for the purpose of manufacturing

and introducing its products in Hungary.

In recent years the Company has made investments in the

value of approx. 40 million EUR: a new production hall has been

built and the machinery has been improved to establish the

opportunity for the successful flow of know-how and technology.

As a result of these dynamic developments, the Company has

multiplied its turnover as well as its staff. Now it employs more

than 1000 people, which means that it has become one of the

largest employers in the South Plain Region.

Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft. is a motor of the economic life

in the Region, a successful enterprise that faces future, is open to

innovation, plans its investments and developments for a long

period, and – with its dynamic operation – plays an important role

in the economic growth of Kecskemét as well. It maintains very

good relationship with the municipality of Kecskemét, cooperates

with the vocational training schools and educational institutions in

the city and in the county, and contributes greatly to the cultural

and sport life of the county seat.

The activity structure of the Company has been adjusted to that

of the parent company. Plastic, aluminium and polyester enclo-

sures, electronic motors and transformers, membrane keyboards

and design foils, actuation devices and control units, drive units,

plastic components, protection and partitioning systems are manu-

factured here and supplied to companies of very different industries.

Production is carried out in 7 units (so-called profit centres),

following the directions of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management and

ISO 14001:2004 Environment Management Systems. It is the

Sales Department of Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft. that markets

Phoenix Mecano products in Hungary and in Middle-East Europe.

The company was extended a new manufacturer unit of activity in

2007. The new Elodrive Profit Centre have a share in trade of

driving technology. Practise a conducted/regulated propulsion

assembling for heating/cooling-ventillation line of business.

The Dewert Profit Centre of Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft., with its 300

employees and the production of bed-driving systems in a wide range, is the

most important production unit of the German Dewert Antriebs- und

Systemtechnik GmbH.

The Plastics Injection Moulding Profit Centre was the first division of

Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft. It has undergone a great development

during the years. The machinery was extended year by year, and the

development and automation of the equipment park is continuous even

now. Actually, the Profit Centre has 23 Engel injection-moulding machines

equipped with fully automatic robots, and their closing force is between 45

and 750 metric tons.

The Motor/Transformer Profit Centre was established in 1995. Due to conti-

nuous investments, it has achieved a high level of efficiency. At present the

Profit Centre employs 100 people. The Development and Design Unit of the

plant continuously introduces new products and develops the existing ones

in order to ensure a high level of competitiveness.

The Kundisch Profit Centre of Phoenix Mecano Kecskemét Kft. has been

working as the production unit of the German Kundisch GmbH since 1996.

At present the plant employs more than 160 people. It is a speciality of

Kundisch products that mainly copper-based film is used as basic raw

material of membrane keyboards. In addition, silver-based membrane

keyboards are naturally also produced.

RK Rose+Krieger established its Hungarian profit centre in 1997. Initially it

dealt mainly with the assembly of linear units, and then in 1998 the

production of divider systems and lifting devices also started.

The Rose and Bopla Profit Centre was founded in 1996 by two German

companies, Rose Systemtechnik GmbH and Bopla Gehäuse Systeme

GmbH. The 140 employees of the plant produce dust- and water-proof

enclosures of aluminium, plastic and polyester.

Application areas

Our products are used in machine engineering, electrical engineering, chemi-

cal industry, mining, building installation and medical devices in the whole world.

The following manufacturing

Mecano Kecskemét Kft. complies with all modern

requirements of industrial engineering, quality, social

facilities and environment protection.

The quality management system of Phoenix Mecano

Kecskemét Kft. is the guarantee of the realization of

our quality and environment policy. The services of air-

conditioned measuring laboratories are available for

the whole company. High-tech measuring instruments

– such as 3D measuring machines, high-precision

profile projectors and hardness testers (with hardness

gauge plates and integrated micro-counters) – can be

found in these rooms. Following the relevant rules, our

Company has acquired and holds the certificates of

ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004.
