plens de la gent

que anava cap a l'Ebre

I tot nasqué

d'aquell mes de juliol

-pels grans, de molt abans

d'aquell mes de juliol,-

de quan tot eren canonades

i tot cues pel pa,

de quan la gent

cremava les esglésies

i treia mòmies pels carrers.

I tot eren requises i passeigs

i morts i sacrificis.

 

Jo m'ho mirava trist.

Llavors, durant la guerra,

em recordava sempre dels confits

que anant a l'escola

comprava per deu cèntims,

del meu cinema del dijous

amb la poma vermella al cap d'un pal,

de colomar i de gat.

Llavors veia la gent plorar.

 

I gairebé com ara.

I tot s'anava fent més dur.

En el saqueig d'un magatzem

vaig assolir queviures,

sense la por dels trets.

I vaig entendre

per què la gent no plora sempre al front.

I en recordar la gent

que anava cap a l'Ebre

sento una gran tristor.
