    Refurbishment of the SEAT brand pavilion in Autostadt, Germany. Autostadt is the brand museum of the Volkswagen Group located in Wolfsburg.

    The building, designed in 1999 by the spanish architect Alfredo Arribas has a heart shape and organises the itinerary in 4 areas, like the blood circulation through the atriums and ventricles.

    The aim of the project was to redesign and adapt the interior of the pavilion in order to show the new brand values and corporate identity.

    The building has a surface of 800sqm divided in two levels. The design concept starts from the brand claim TECHNOLOGY TO ENJOY. The pavilion is divided in two areas.

    The tour starts on the white area, associated with ENJOY. The visitor can see here a huge moodboard with the inspiration images of the brand values and a giant projection of Barcelona skyline above the ramp that comunicates the first and the ground floor, where the cars are exhibited.

    The black area is associated with TECHNOLOGY. The visitor can experience the newest technological features through a car configurator, an huge interactive videowall where all the design car phases are shown and a spectacular 360 videomapping on a real vehicle.

    The tour ends on a circular cinema room where the brand and history video are shown.

  • DWELLING REFURBISHMENT IN BARCELONA (2013)

    In collaboration with Ambits Urbans Arquitectes. The project consists of the remodelling and restoration of an appartment located on the number 207 at Arag Street in Barcelona. The owner is a young girl who lives alone and will have guests eventually.

    The structure of the building, from 1880, is of load-bearing brick walls and floors of pine beams with ceramic slabs. The original distribution constituted a highly compartmentalized housing with very narrow rooms without natural light nor ventilation.

    The appartment is completely reorganized, creating new open, versatile, lightened and ventilated spaces; avoiding the apparition of the long narrow hallway, typical from the old Eixample housing. The reconstruction of the back faade allows the orientation of the new rooms.

    The house is divided into two zones. The day area, consisting of the living room and the open kitchen forming a single space, and the sleeping area, consisting of two rooms connected through a wide desk. The rest room is located in the centre of the house.

  • NEW MARKET AND COOKING SCHOOL IN BON PASTOR, BARCELONA(Master Degree Project. 2012)

    The goal of the project is to design a new market and a vocational cooking school.The new project aims to create a relationship between these two buildings and programs, which can be supplemented, and thus expand the supply of facilities and culture of the neighbourhood.

    The area of Bon Pastor has undergone a major transformation in recent years. Lately there has been a large investment in facilities and infrastructures. Perhaps the most significant one is the arrival of the metro line 9, which will connect the neighbourhood with Badalona and Barcelona. After the analisys of the area Ive figured out that:

    The district needs a new market building The district education offer is to be expanded by building new nursery, primary and secondary schools. The local government is concerned about the high school dropout rate.

    The new project is located on the site of the former market, on the Street Sant Adri (main street of the area); in front of the new metro station and on a plot of an old factory behind the market (to be demolished by urban planning).A new perpendicular axis to the main street is created, well connected to the whole city and parallel to the street where all the other facilities are placed. This urban operation allows the reinforcement of the centrality of the area.

    CURRENT SITUATIONThere is a lack of continuity in the urban and social tissue.The Sanchs factory (in grey) creates a series of conflicts with the surrounding space. The square of the former market is a space without qualities.

    STEP 1Creation of the void. The demolishment of the factory allows the recovery and continuity of the some streets and the apparition of new circulations. We achieve bigger spaces with their own character. New faade to Paseo Enrique Sanchis, the street where all the facilities of the area are located.

    STEP 2New program and disposition of the new buildings in space, to establish a dialogue within them and with the exisiting buildings, creating a tissue of public spaces and facilities that will unite the area.The program is divided into market building, kitchens building and classroom building .

    STEP 3Urbanisation. We work in the public space surrounding the new buildings, reinforcing the new pedestrian circulations. The area beside the classroom building becomes an aromatic garden. The area beside the kitchen building becomes a childrens play area.

    PROJECT IN SPLIT (CROATIA): MASTERPLAN DEFITINITON AND PROJECT OF A

    THALASSOTHERAPY CENTRE (2009)

    The aim of the project is to redefine with a Masterplan the eastern edge of the city of Split, nowadays difuse due to the lack of planning. The work is carried out in group and aims to create a city dedicated to the elderly, like Florida of central Europe, where pensioners from different countries can come to spend their old age or long holiday periods, due to the climatic conditions and the landscape. All facilities that meet the requirements of our new users will be offered and will be distributed to locations throughout the study area.

    Once the work on the large scale is done; each one of the 5 members of the group defines one of the buildings designed in the plan. The designated area is the resort Zagreb, now abandoned and occupied.

    It is proposed to refurbish the hotel, rearrange the gardens and project a Thalassotherapy center where there was the former nightclub.

    This building that grows vertically in the margin of the cliff, aims to re-establish the connection between the sea and the hotel. From the garden you reach the top floor of the building and goes spiraling down a ramp to reach the artificial beach, reusing the existing concrete platform.The distribution of the program accompanies the promenade, as the uses that have to do with water are located in the lower floors and the ones that have more to do with the hotel, such as the restaurant, are on the upper floors.

    URBAN INTERVENTION AT EIXAMPLE: PROJECT OF A TRAM TROUGH ARAG STREET, AND REDESIGN OF THE CROSSROADS BETWEEN STREETS ARAG,

    MARINA AND DIAGONAL (2011)

    The aim of the exercise is to rethink and redesign Arag Street to bring it to a more urban scale. It is proposed to design a new tram line that passes through this street.

    Nowadays this street is one of the main streets of Barcelona. Its section, dimensions and traffic volume, define it as an urban highway that crosses the city longitudinally.Connecting Sants Railway station with Les Glries square, two important points in the city, through a fast, ecologic and comfortable mean of transport (the tram), highly increases the quality of the road network.

    By putting the tram, the street happens to have three lanes for private vehicle traffic, increases the width of the sidewalks and incorporates a bike lane. In addition, passing the tram through the final part of Diagonal and binding it to Glries; reactivates this part of the road, actually quite dead, reusing the central promenade to circulate this transport.

    The tram is also an excuse to change and rehabilitate the crossroads between Arago, Marina and Diagonal, which is the focal point of the project, and today is a complex road junction, a point where the city is lost due to the misconfiguration of public space and fragmentation caused by the crossing of these three ways.I propose the creation of new facilities for the neighboUrhood, such as an information centre and a residence and daycare center for the elderly.

  • ARCHMEDIUM COMPETITION: VIENNA HOUSE OF MUSIC (2011)

    A city that sounds like Mozart melodies written on a stave of green spaces along the streets of the capital of the Danube.A park that is located at the confluence of several streets that join with the Cathedral and cross on its surface a series of lines.A canal that borders the park and acts as a natural limit, opposing to the facade of the city.

    Taking these defining features of the site, we decide to locate the project in the upper right margin of the park, on the banks of the canal. The building rises from the folds created on the surface of the park, creating a large deck as if it were a folded paper.This cover,breaks creating two large openings that let light into the building.

    The functional program is located mostly on the large deck, buried, without having excessive volume in the middle of the park. There are 3 levels inside: the intermediate where we find the access and in which there is the social part of the building (foyer, auditorium, bar, shop ...), the top, which houses the classrooms; and bottom, which holds the facilities, warehouses and changing rooms.The amphitheater is located outdoors, following the lines on which the cover is folded, creating sunken area with a series of slopes that form the amphitheater.

  • HOUSING BUILDING IN SCHLIEREN, ZRICH (SWITZERLAND) (2010)

    The plot borders at north with an urban highway and at south with some block buildings.

    The building is a bar that bends to create two spaces with different properties connected on the ground floor.

    To the north a square i created in order to oxygenate and give space to pedestrians (now is an unpleasant place to stay due to the large volume of traffic and the narrowness of the sidewalks). In the south it generates a garden that connects to the green neighborhood.

    There are two housing typologies, the north-south with a surface of 85 m2 and the east-west. These ones are about 120 m2 duplex generated from overlapping in space of L-shaped rotated walls.

    It can be seen that the skeleton of walls forming the building is displayed on the faade, as well as these walls are not parallel to the plane of the faade but leak, because it is thought that the most public housing open to the outside and the most private close, controlling the space.

    RESIDENCE FOR THE ELDERLY, DAYCARE CENTRE AND FIRST ASSISTANCE CENTRE IN CARMEL PARK,

    BARCELONA (2011)

    All these qualities had led me to choose the site of my project in the middle of the park, between two roads, which have very different properties.

    The building seeks to integrate into the park and create a space where older people can enjoy their last years interacting with this magnificent surrounding.

    As the site has a considerable slope, the idea starts from stretching the contour lines to create courtyards that will allow the entrance of light and a direct relationship with nature.We want that the exsiting roads become part of the building. In the upper level the way deviates and the rooftop itself becomes the road, joining the park through a walkway. The program is distributed in levels. The most public parts of the program such as the daycare centre, the bar and the medical centre are placed in the upper level. The residence is located on the inferior levels, so that the building wins privacy as it descends.
