Judo Physio and Sport Science SupportWhat can the judo players use?

If you are judo student you entitled to use a range of sport science related facilities/services.

These services are: Physiotherapy - Injury treatment/prevention

Sport massage - Prevent muscle and tendon injury + reduce pain as well as stresses & strains on the joints

Sport science support - Recovery from injury

Strength and conditioning Get fit + healthy and working on weak ability areas.

Sport nutrition Keeping a balanced diet suitable for your specified sport.

Sport psychology Helping with mental problem, recovering from injury, need motivation.

Video & performance analysis Assessing you performance which has been recorded, identifying weak areas.

What did Jurgen say about what he uses?

Jurgen explained all the facilities his athletes used and why, it is incredible knowing how muchfacilities the judo athletes use, here are a few examples.Jurgens athletes use: the gym (working onfitness and strength) Outdoor tracks (for fitness) Physiotherapy (for treating injuries and

preventing others) Sport psychology (for players feeling down on their injuries and othermental problems)

    Does it help performance?

The athletes wouldn't be as good as they are now if they didn't have the physio and sports sciencesupport services, this is because this type of support helps the players recover and prevent themselvesfrom injuries and injuries are the one thing you need to avoid when playing sport. If you come across

and injury you ability levels can drop such as fitness and strength. That's why it is a great advantage forthe players to have this support.

    Evaluation of Badminton Provision

In general bath university provide absolutelyoutstanding services, support and facilities fortheir players. All the players are guaranteed tofeel comfortable knowing that they have thefacilities and support for them to use at their ownwill. Having the correct facilities and supportreally befits towards the playersperformance/abilities.

In my opinion the physio and sports sciencesupport is the best service thats is offered toplayers, without the support of physio, sportsmassage, psychology the players wouldnt be ableto recover from injuries as quick and efficient. This is a strong sector the bath university has.

So in conclusion bath university do exceptionallywell in offering their badminton players the rightservices and facilities that they require.
