ESTABILIDAD DE CRUDOS vs. SARA
ASTM-2007 standard method
The colloidal instability index (CII) was calculated using eq. 1, and it is defined as the mass ratio between the sum of the asphaltenes and saturates and the sum of the peptizer agents (aromatics and resins).*

Tendency of CII from SARA components of Colombian crude oils: crude 1 (asphaltenes
= 0.6 wt %), crude 2 (asphaltenes = 3.7 wt %), and crude 3 (asphaltenes = 14.2 wt %).
Molina D., Angulo F.; Dueez F.; Guzmn A. Energy & Fuels 2014, 28, 1802 - 1810
- Fan and his coworkers* related the refractive index of oil, (RI)oil, to the SARA fraction by the following empirical equation:(RI)oil=0.001452S+0.0014982A+0.0016624(+As), where S is Saturate, A is aromatic, is resin and AS is asphaltene percent. PRI as the refractive index at the onset asphaltene precipitation and proposed that the difference between the refractive index of the oil (RI)oil and PRI can be used as a measure of the asphaltene stability, defined(RI)=(RI)oilPRI. And proposed the following stability criteria:( (i)crude oil with (RI)>0.060 are more likely to have stable asphaltenes (ii)crude oil with (RI)

ESTABILIDAD DE CRUDOS MTODOS
The term stability can be understood as a measure of the tendency of the asphaltenes to precipitate in relation to the oil. An evaluation of the colloidal stability of crude oils involves determining the solubility profile or solubility distribution of the asphaltenes in these materials, and this evaluation can be described by different models and indices. Some of these indices involve the experimental determination of the precipitation of the asphaltenes by the addition of a nonsolvent to the oils or solutions of oils in aromatic solvents, e.g.,
- the Heithaus titration (P-index or Po). (Heithaus, J.J. J. Inst. Petrol. 1962, 48, 4553).T - The colloidal instability index (CII); (Karlsson, R.; Isacsson, U. Energy & Fuels, 2003, 17, 1407-1415. - The toluene equivalence (TE) and the Bureau of Mines correlation index
toluene equivalence (BMCI TE). (Asomaning, S. Petroleum Science and Technology, 2003, 21, 581-590.) - The filter drop spreading method. (Carnahan, N. F.; Salager, J-L.; Antn, R.; Dvila, A. Energy & Fuels, 1999,
13, 309 -314.)
- The Heithaus titration. (Karlsson, R.; Isacsson, U. Energy & Fuels, 2003, 17, 1407-1415.) - The turbidimetric titration. - The Hansen solubility parameters.

Some of these have used light transmission: - Refractive index. - Light scattering by particles. - NIR solids detection - fluorescence spectroscopy.
Others: - Viscosimetry. - Conductivity. - Heat transfer analysis. - Critical voltage. - Electric field. - Zeta potential. - Filtration and other similar procedures are the only options.
Prediction models using spectroscopy data in conjunction with chemometric techniques: - Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy in the range of 11002250 nm, together with a latent-variable regression technique,13 NIR and PLS. (Macho, S.; Larrechi, M.S. Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 2002, 21, 799-806.)

: tensin superficial y V: volumen molar

MTODOS MEDICIN ESTABILIDAD CRUDOS PESADOS
