La pintura es poesía; siempre se escribe
en verso con rimas plásticas.
Pablo Picasso
Escribo, borro, reescribo.Borro otra vez, y entonces

Alberti, Rafael
It is not important, What it does. How it does it.Or if it is viable, To those who deem it as a need.If it feels good. And the texture of it is right...It will be made to be in demand.Felt and caressed between one’s hands...Before the stock market is closed! With the booting of buns.Whether they are tightly held or not!
‘You mean ‘bonds’? ‘
Buns, bonds, balls...Whatever.This is about texture! The feel and the description of it! Not what they are called. But how they feel!
Lawrence S. Pertillar
my perfection isn’t mine
you invented it
I am only the mirror
in which you preen yourself
and for that very reason
I despise you.
Claribel Alegria (1993)
“Galatea before the mirror”
Let me be marble, marble once again:
Go from me slowly, like an ebbing pain,
Great mortal feuds of moving flesh and blood: This mouth
so bruised, serene again,--and set In its old passive chan-
gelessness, the rude Wild crying face, the frantic eyes--
forget
The little human shuddering interlude.
And if you follow and confront me there,
O Sons of Men, though you cry out and groan And plead
with me to take you for my own
And clutch my dress as a child, I shall not care,
But only turn on you a marble stare
And stun you with the quiet gaze of stone.
Genevieve Taggard (1929)
“Galatea Again”
I
No pinta el cielo sino
De la tierra el alma rosa
No pinta hombres sino caballos

A ti, extendida
superficie, a los ojos, en espera.
A ti, imaginación, helor u hoguera,
diseño fiel o llama desceñida.
A ti, línea impensada o concebida.
A ti, pincel heroico, roca o cera,
obediente al estilo o la manera,
dócil a la medida o desmedida.
A ti, forma; color, sonoro empeño
porque la vida ya volumen hable,
sombra entre luz, luz entre sol, oscura.
A ti, fingida realidad del sueño.
A ti, materia plástica palpable.
A ti, mano, pintor de la Pintura.
“A la pintura”
Rafael Alberti, 1945-1967
Francis Bacon
