CONFORMACIÓN, CADA UNO DE LOS CUALES
PUEDE TENER UN TRANSFONDO GENÉTICO
PARTICULAR Y RELACIONADO CON
PROPIEDADES BIOLÓGICAS Y/O
TAXONÓMICAS SEPARADAS.
USOS DE LOS ANÁLISIS MORFOMÉTRICOS
Detectar y describir cuantitativamente la variación morfológica presente en las poblaciones.
Investigar el origen y la naturaleza de la variabilidad morfológica.
Investigar los factores que pueden alterar los patrones de variación morfológica.
Apoyar la taxonomía, en particular en poblaciones de estatus taxonómico dudoso.
Detectar patrones evolutivos.
Apoyar los estudios filogenéticos.
