around, pass them along to the "cabin" or carry the fire

harvest .Traditionally, during the course of this party took

advantage to court the "mozucas" of each of the towns,as was the custom of "Enramada", placing branches of poplar or alder

interesting disputes among them young people who had the most beautiful

bouquet, besides the ritual does not end there floral, but in the center of

town would place a large bouquet or even a tree-style celebration of the

    Feast of the Maya

It is a night when the legends of the Mountain

displayed the Caballucos del Diablo ( devil small horses)

Legend has it that there are seven and seem dragonflies giants, have long,

red, white, blue, black, yellow, green and orange. Always fly together and

the first is the red horse, the largest and most robust, the leader who leads

and directs others in their search. Those who have seen the Caballucos say

the devil himself rides one, and the rest are ridden by demons. Are harmful to the mountain , it is dedicated to trample or burn the

crops. The Caballucos moving along the paths leaving traces of their shells

and rocks and stones that reach their claws are sharp as if freshly tilled land

in question. His snorting is so strong and cold as the north wind of winter,

which makes the leaves fall from trees. His eyes shine like glowing embrees.

Dragonfly order Zygoptera to be identified with the

    Devil Caballucos.

According to myth , these horses of hell weresinful men who lost their soul and were forced to

wander in Cantabria the rest of eternity. The red

horse was a man who lent money to farmers and

then using dirty tricks seize their properties, the

target was a miller who stole many maquilas mill of his master, the black was

a hermit who deceived the people, the yellow one corrupt judge, the blue an

innkeeper, the green one landowner who dishonored many young and orange a

child abused by their parents hate.

It is tradition in Cantabria, on the morning of San Juan, take to the hills tosearch for water flowers born in the sources and clovers four leaf sprouted

that night. But it is very difficult because at night the devil Caballucos have

dedicated their mission and evil as required, to destroy the water and clover

flowers that have been found to prevent boys and girls to find them. If some

lucky even with all water is the flower, she'll find love and happiness,

whereas on this occasion who find one of those rare clubs, will be lucky with

the four graces of life, one for each sheet:

y Live a hundred years.y Not have pain in the rest of life.y Do not go hungry.y Holding it with serenity all

    disappointment.

The bonfires of San Juan in Cantabria perpetuate the tradition propitiatory

and cleansing. But the flight of Caballucos the glow of the fires is a sign of

great misfortune. Not even the blessed Anjanas have power to his gallop and

the only way to be safe is to make seven crosses in the air before they getclose, but being so fast and with the expectation that people do not work

relies on another useful procedure, carrying a branch above or verbena de

San Juan yerbuca sacred herb that scares all wrong and should have taken

the wee hours of the night of San Juan last year.

When after a night of uninterrupted flying outrages and trotting by cornfields

, Camberos and villages, sunrise surprises sweaty and exhausted, the Devil

Caballucos disappear until next year through caves covered with blood clots.

While panting and pawing are removed from their jaws drop a slime, which,

when cooled to the ground, turn into gold bars. In Cantabria, everybody

knows that whoever picks them up will have luck and wealth in abundance, but

after death his soul will go to hell without mercy. Yet many ambitious ignore

such a warning and before sunrise walk with lanterns looking for them in thegrass of the meadows. When they return to their eager search, you have to

hide among the trees to avoid being seen by young men and women running

through the meadow jumping and singing:

"A Highway in the yerbuca take

    the morning of San Juan,

    li not harm snakes

    Caballucos or evil. "
