Confucio era un funcionario del gobierno que vivió del año 479 AC. al 551 AC. Durante su vida, estuvo rodeado de una atmósfera de caos y desorden en el sistema. Fue probablemente por estas crisis e injusticias tan pronunciadas que se dedicó a desarrollar un nuevo código moral basado en el respeto, la honestidad, la educación, la bondad y fuertes lazos familiares.
