Acción de gracias

Quiero dar las gracias a todas las personas que de una u otra manera contribuyeron con el festival de otoño; sin su ayuda, y presencia no hubiera sido posible lograrlo. Prefie-ro no mencionar nombres, ya que con la memoria que ten-go, más de un nombre se me olvidará y no es justo con aquellas personas que dedicaron tiempo, talento y tesoro en este festival. No tengo dinero para pagarles por todo el bien que han hecho y hacen por la Parroquia, pero estoy seguro que Dios y la Virgen María, quienes todo lo ven, les recompensara de una u otra manera por todo lo que hacen por ésta su Parroquia. La próxima semana les estaremos dando información de las ganancias logradas en el festi-

val.

Tener sentido de Pertenencia

Muchas veces me han escuchado hablar de tener sentido de pertenencia, pero algunas personas parece que hicieran caso omiso a estas palabras, y lo hemos notado en cosas tan sencillas como: dejar las luces encendidas en ciertos lugares sabiendo que somos los últimos en esos recintos, o utilizar más cantidad de luces de las que necesitamos, dejar las llaves del agua abiertas por un largo periodo, de-jar el sistema de aire acondicionado a baja temperatura sin haber personas en el lugar, etc. Por favor ayúdenme a cui-dar del medio ambiente, al igual que a administrar bien el

dinero que usted da a la parroquia.

Reflexión

Domingo vigésimo séptimo del año. Este fin de semana la Palabra de Dios nos confronta con la fe como una opción decidida por la persona de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, para asumir su vida, su palabra, su manera de encarar las reali-dades y sobre todo la forma de entrar en relación con los seres humanos, en particular con los mas abandonados y

en peligro, para servirles.

Quizás algunos habían escuchado hablar poco de Haba-cuc (Habakkuk), pues bien, Habacuc, es uno de los llama-dos profetas menores, algunos creen que fue cantor del templo y levita, la palabra. En hebreo habaqquq significa una planta de jardín, la albahaca. En esa época no eran raros los nombres de vegetales aplicados a perso-

nas.

Pregunta: Qué tan fuerte es mi fe, especialmente en mo-

mentos de crisis?

Thanksgiving

I want to thank all the people who in one way or another contribut-

ed to the autumn festival. Without your help and presence it

would not have been possible. I prefer not to mention names,

since with the memory I have, I will forget more than one name

and it is not fair with those people who dedicated time, talent and

treasure to this festival. I have no money to pay them for all the

good they have done and do for the Parish, but I am sure that

God and the Virgin Mary, who see everything, will reward them in

one way or another for everything they do for their Parish. Next

week we will be giving you information about the earnings made

at the festival.

To have a sense of belonging

Many times you have heard me talk about having a sense of be-

longing, but some people seem to ignore these words, and we

have noticed it in such simple things as: leaving the lights on in

certain places knowing that we are the last ones in in those

rooms, or turn on more lights than we need, leave the water fau-

cet open for a long period, leave the air conditioning system at low

temperature without having people in the room, etc. Please help

me take care of the environment, as well as to manage the money

you give to the parish well.

Reflection

Twenty-seventh Sunday of the year. This weekend the Word of

God confronts us with faith as an option decided by the person of

Our Lord Jesus Christ, to assume his life, his word, his way of

facing realities and above all the way of entering into relationship

with human beings, in particular with the most abandoned and in

danger, to serve them.

Perhaps some had heard a little about Habacuc (Habakkuk).

Well, Habakkuk is one of the so-called minor prophets, some be-

lieve that he was a temple singer and Levite, the word. In Hebrew

habaqquq means a garden plant, basil. At that time the names of

vegetables applied to people were not rare.

Question: How strong is my faith, especially in times of crisis?

PUMPKIN VOLUNTEERS, THANK YOU!

The temps were in the 90s. It was the hottest time of day. And still, we had about 25 people, adults and kids, show up to un-

load the 18 wheeler truck of all our pumpkins and gourds. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who showed up! We can't have the pumpkin patch without you!

Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Our parish is at $22,420 of our goal of $32,200 for this year. December is quickly approaching. Thank you, to those who have been faithful to their pledge and to those who have made a contribution for the AAA. There is always time to make a pledge. Just pick up a pledge envelope from an usher or in the church office. Youth Ministry in the Mountains is dedicated to the

continuing formation of Catholic Teens in Northeast

Georgia through outreach in the community, social

activities and Catholic spiritual development. YMM is

led by a youth minister and supported by a trained

team of peer leaders and parent volunteers. All

Catholic teens grades 6-12 are welcome.

*Each year Youth Ministry in the Mountains rotates this activity between Clarkesville & Cleveland. This year is our turn to stand in Clarkesville as we were in Cleveland in 2018

Light up a Child’s Life With a Shoebox

Stuffed Full of Toys & More

Youth Ministry in the Mountains is collecting toys and other items to pack into shoeboxes which will go to poor children in developing countries. You would be amazed at how much can be squeezed into a shoebox – each child will be absolutely delight-ed! Each box is labeled for a boy or girl in one of 3 different age ranges between ages 2 and 15 and will contain toys &/or sports equipment, school supplies, t-shirt/dress/outfit, socks, toothbrush, etc.

Please help us by bringing donations of any of the following items October 12-November 3 (donation boxes located in the Narthex of each church). Money is also appreciated and will be used toward shipping fees. Samaritan’s Purse, the organization which delivers the boxes, asks shoebox donors to include $9 per box for shipping.**

Good items to send:

Dolls or stuffed animals – make sure they will fit in a shoebox Any kind of toy that is not war-related Playdough & small cookie cutters, water color sets, kaleidoscope Balls – if large, deflate them and include a pump with extra needles School supplies such as pencils, pens, pads, crayons, glue sticks, markers, small scissors,

Llena de Juguetes y más

Ministerio de la juventud en las montañas (los grupos regionales de la juventud de San Pablo y San Marcos) está recogiendo juguetes y otros artículos para empacar en cajas de za-patos que irán a los niños pobres de los países en desarrollo. Se sorprenderá de lo mucho que se puede meter en una caja de zapatos: ¡cada niño estará absolutamente encantado! Cada caja está rotulada para un niño o niña en uno de 3 rangos de edad diferentes entre las edades de 2 y 15 años y contendrá juguetes y / o equipo deportivo, útiles escolares, camiseta / vestido / atuendo, calcetines, cepillo de dientes, etc.

Por favor, ayúdenos a traer donaciones de cualquiera de los siguientes artículos del 12 de octubre-3 de noviembre (cajas de donación están ubicadas en el Narthex de cada igle-sia). El dinero también se agradece y se utilizará para los gastos de envío. Samaritan's Purse, la organización que entrega las cajas, pide a los donantes de cajas de zapatos que incluyan $9 por caja para el envío.
