FEATURES OF A GOOD SCREEN
Pumping Station Screens
Mechanically operated multi rake bar screen withthe following features:
Bar spacing 10 mmMOC SS 304 or SS 316 no other material to beused.Submerged ceramic lined maintenance freebearingsElectronically controlled Automatic jam removalsystemDual speed mode to handle flash flows. Cleaningcycle of 10 and 5 seconds respectively.

SYSTEM OF GOODSCREENING
Screen shall remove solids from rawwater.Screenings shall be mechanically raisedon screen to the dead plateautomatically discharged to conveyorbelt, which in turn will dump it at a
convenient point for further disposal.

Advantages of Mechanizedscreens.
Due to mechanized screens, no clogging andwater contamination problems occurs. No major head loss due to single screening.
Life of mechanical screens is almost 20 Yrs., insubmerged condition for SS 316 as MOC. Thisis absolute saving of recurring cost of MS wirescreen and manpower for cleaning.
Due to non-clogging the addition pumping will beavoided in rainy or high flood seasons. No water contamination hence reducedtreatment cost and safety.

Observations
Barvi intake- there are two intake channels withmanual screens installed. The screens are placedwith reducing opening size.
Airoli effluent pumping station-The pumping station isnewly constructed . It is still not commissioned. TheInlet channel size is 3.5 m wide and 6.9 m deep. Twochannels are providedRabale effluent pumping station-this pumping stationis a old structure. The main inlet channel size is 2.4mx2.05 m
Ransai Intake Structure-At this site a dam isconstructed .Through a underground inlet pipe wateris drawn to a inlet fountain.
