Esta investigación se realizó con el propósito de identificar el estilo de liderazgo que mayor- mente se atribuye utilizar un grupo de supervisores puertorriqueños. De igual forma, deseamos comparar si estas atribuciones presentaban diferencias significativas entre mujeres y hombres. Un total de 200 super- visores/as participaron en este estudio, 112 mujeres y 88 hombres. Los resultados apoyan la aplicabilidad de la teoría de rango completo de liderazgo en los líderes puertorriqueños. Se identificaron diferencias sig- nificativas al comparar las atribuciones de los supervisores/as, presentando las mujeres niveles de lideraz- go transformacional y transaccional superiores al compararlas con los hombres. No se encontraron dife- rencias significativas al considerar otras variables demográficas relevantes, como tampoco una interacción de éstas con el género del supervisor. Estos resultados se discuten de acuerdo a los hallazgos en otros estu- dios fuera de Puerto Rico y sus implicaciones para el manejo de este tema en nuestro país. This research was carried out to identify the leadership style which is largely self-attributed by a group of Puertorrican supervisors. Similarly, we would compare if these self- attributions were signifi- cantly different between women and men. A total of 200 supervisors participated in this study, 112 women and 88 men. The results support the applicability of the full-range theory of leadership in the Puertorrican leaders. We identified significant differences when comparing the self-attributions of supervisors, show- ing women higher levels of transformational and transactional leadership when compared with men. No significant differences were found when considering other relevant demographic variables, nor an interac- tion of these with the gender of the supervisor. These results are discussed according to findings in other studies outside of Puerto Rico and its implications in our country. Se puede afirmar que uno de los temas de mayor preocupación y discusión en nuestra sociedad es el del liderazgo. Programas de radio, de televisión, artículos de prensa y las discusiones que podemos escuchar entre grupos profesionales y de amigos muestran un gran interés por este tema. Y es que el liderazgo afecta la calidad de nuestras vidas, particularmente a través de las decisiones y conductas que los líderes asumen, cuyo impacto es experimentado por sus seguidores. En las organizaciones, el liderazgo tiene el potencial de influenciar la forma y manera en la cual ocurren los procesos relevantes de las mismas y aportar al logro de sus objetivos (Bennis, 2007). De acuerdo a Vroom y Jago (2007) prácticamente todas las definiciones sobre el liderazgo incluyen el proceso de influencia. Es decir, las acciones de una persona deben ser capaces de modificar las acciones de una o varias personas en la dirección que desea la pri- mera. Por lo tanto, el liderazgo se refiere al potencial o capacidad que tiene una persona de influenciar a otras para que éstas dirijan sus esfuerzos hacia un objetivo común. La definición anterior nos lleva a preguntar- nos, ¿cuáles son los procesos que permiten que en efecto esta influencia ocurra? Es aquí donde encontra- mos una diversidad de acercamientos que intentan con- testar esta interrogante. Algunos autores limitan su definición de liderazgo a métodos particulares de influencia, tales como aquellos que no son coercitivos o aquellos que apelan a valores morales. Otros acerca- mientos conceptúan la forma de influencia no como una propiedad definitoria sino como la base para dis- tinguir entre diferentes tipos de liderazgo (Vroom y Yago, 2007). Es en esta última conceptuación que podemos ubicar la teoría de liderazgo transformacional (Avolio, 2007; Bass y Avolio, 1997; Burns, 1978), que es el marco de atención principal de esta investigación. On bullfighting days the atmosphere is both emblematic and spec-tacular, and can be felt throughout the entire area. Not only in the Bullring, but also in the surrounding areas, as the fans gather before the bullfight in the local bars to enjoy typical dishes of bullfighting “lidia” cattle.

The building that today houses the Museo Nacional del Prado was designed by architect Juan de Villanueva in 1785. It was constructed to house the Natural History Cabinet, by orders of King Charles III. However, the building’s final purpose - as the new Royal Museum of Paintings and Sculptures - was the decision of the monarch’s grandson, King Ferdinand VII, encouraged by his wife Queen Maria Isabel de Braganza. The Museo Nacional del Prado, opened to the public for the first time in November 1819. The Museum’s first catalogue, pu-blished in 1819, included 311 paintings, although at that time its collection comprised just over 1,510 pictures from the various Reales Sitios (Royal Residences). The exceptionally important royal collection, which represents the foundation of the Museum’s collection as we know it today, started to increase significantly in the 16th century during the time of Charles V and continued to thrive under the succeeding Habsburg and Bourbon Monarchs. It is down to them than nowadays we can contemplate in the Museum as greatest masterpieces as The Garden of Earthly Delights by Bosh, The Nobleman with his hand on his Chest by El Greco, Las Meninas by Velázquez and The Family of Carlos IV by Goya.The visit will take place in chronological order, starting with the exhibit hall where the masterpieces of J. Bosch (El Bosco) (1450-1516): The table of the 7 deadly sins, The Hay Wain, the temptations of San Antonio, the stone of madness and the Garden of Delights, to continue with the rooms devoted to the Greco (1540-1614): the gentleman’s hand on his chest, the Trinity, Christ embraced the cross and the Annunciation. Velázquez (1599-1660): the worship, drunkards, equestrian portraits, the Forge of Vulcan, the Christ, the spinners, spears and las meninas, ending with Goya (1746-1828): the family of Carlos IV, pictures the shootings of May 2, pestles and black paintings.
