STAGE INVESTIGATION PROJECT

WHAT EXACTLY IS CASA BAUBO?

It is a musical project and sinestesic, which is part of an investigation into music andmusic therapy that began eight years ago and now continues to develop in threesimultaneous d irec tions, one o f them being this musica l spec ta c le.

There are two main objectives for this research being staged. On the one hand wea im to ta ke the listeners, using sound and music a nd d ifferent visua l and scented stimuli,on a journey through different personalities, pa ssions, emotions, fee lings, moods (anger,sadness, pride, lust, love, joy, etc.) we produce mental images like those of thesoundtrack of a movie. These personalities, sensations, emotions and mental images,will be stimulated and reflected, using sounds, the interpretation of the songs wec hoo se a nd also the imp rovisa tions tha t link these songs. On the other hand it rea ffirms

and strengthens the hypothesis tha t the re is a relationship between the parameters ofsound and music, and certain specific aspects of communication and personality. Allof these fa c tors influence the listener, chang ing their moo d in a spec ific way acco rd ingto the stimulus tha t the listeners undergo or are exposed to . This show will be repeatedin different spa ces and sta ge s, ob serving , ana lyzing and reg istering the rea c tions of theaudience.

Each song and improvisation will represent a kind of persona lity, pa ssion; in form of love,c olour, flavo ur, sme ll using the voice , the way of singing and attitude on stagetog ether with the pe rsona l wa y of produc ing the sound each p erformer achieves whenusing his instrumen t.

The improvisations tha t link these songs will be interrelated by p roximity or remoteness towhat is beng represented at the time eg, if the song has been sung as a passion, color,sme ll, taste , etc . The improvisa tions will be b ased on passions, od ours, flavours, co lours,etc . dep ending on the effect intended in that p articular conc ert.

The general pattern underlying the project and the script for the concert areclassifications of different personalities that dominate a passion, as each personality,conditioned by the passion, attitude ante or love, emotions, skills sinestsicas andpathologies that result and therefore describe our way of expressing ourselves andc onnec t us. In addition, eight yea rs of resea rch into music a nd music therap y a nd therelationship b etwe en the parameters of sound a nd music and spe cific a spec ts ofcommunication and personality.

Each musician has been selected (intention) for their special sound, expression andattitude on stage, showing a unique personality through their music .All o f them arerecognized and prestigious profesionals:Albert Sanz, Alejandro Vargas, Anton Jarl,Aruan Ortiz, Enrique Oliver, Jordi Gaspar, Jordi Rossy, Albert Cirera, Pablo Seoane, PauDomenech, Raynald Colom, Vctor Correa, Voro Garca, among others.

What is the show a ll ab out?

CASA BAUBO is a sinestesic a imed a t an a dult a ud ience (only over 18) consisting in thelive performance of a series of songs and improvisations. We start with the hypothesistha t the comb ina tion of the different parame ters of sound sand music in an appropriate manner, through hues, textures, intensities, etc. of vocalsand instruments, and how these are used, they represent sound and the way differentpassions and personalities work together on stage . This affects the public listening,immersing them on a journey to the different personalities, passions, emotions andmoods which will in turn inspire mental images as if it were the soundtrack for a film.Everything will be reflected in the interpretation of the songs we choose, but also in theimprovisations, stimulated by proposed sinestsicas: colors and aromas thatac comp any eac h of the songs.

Who is the p rojec t designed for?

People o ver 18, tha t wish to share and to experiment.

When a person is op en to experimen ta tion, they rec eive Music and let themselves bepenetrated by it, passively or joyfully. But the music itself receives, contains or is invadedby the listener who need s it and ac tively sea rches fo r it. To ente r Music is like ente ringthe w a ter. The possibility of und ergoing a sensation of we ll-being d ep end s on thedeg ree of ind ividua l nec essity like the rela tive temperatures of the p erson and thewa ter. When we feel hea t, it is com forting to b e subm erged into fresh wa ter, but if wea re not ho t the reac tion c ould be one of violent rejec tion. Even in the ca se of a greatnec essity, the excessive resista nc e of temp eratures could b e counter-prod uc tive(Violet Hemsy de Ga inza).

The intent ion is to o bserve and to p ick up the reac tions and d ifferent a nswers from thepub lic througho ut the 90 minutes tha t the c onc ert lasts. As the Music a nd theinfluenc ing sound s c hang e throughout the conc ert, so that we can explore ourphysical pe rcep tions, emotional and psycho log ica l: moo ds and emo tions (empathy,rejection, sadness, love, etc.); physical sensations (temperature, perspiration, pulse,ca rdiac frequency, etc .); menta l proc esses (images, memories, etc.)

Spontaneous nature. Does it exist? We see it as being spontaneous because we cantperceive a ll the m illions of p roc esses taking p lace a t tha t mo ment (light, temp erature,space, vibration, gin and tonic, age, energy... a million in the Bank) at the consciouslevel. But the unc onsc ious seems to b e moving in a com pletely different d irec tion whichappears to be pr-programmed like all living being which have to be in perpetualmo tion, or die.
