Com ara les fotogra-fies impreses a la premsa.Així descrivia en un articlea La Vanguardia una visi-ta a cal retratista: “No bus-queu ornaments ni pri-mors d’arquitectura ni resque ens indiqui l’habitatged’un artista. L’art d’aquellfotògraf és l’art d’arrosse-gar-se pel món, per seguirvivint; no tenir cap vanitatper explotar la del pròxim imantenir la seva famíliavalent-se de la llum i del ni-trat de plata.”

De la mateixa manera,al tombant del segle XX,molts intel·lectuals consi-deraven que els rotatiusque incorporaven fotogra-fia impresa eren “diaris demonos”. Un diaris il·lus-trats que, per cert, van te-nir un gran èxit, en un paísque tenia una vergonyosataxa d’analfabetisme.

Com sempre, els mo-ments en què una novadisciplina s’engega solenser fascinants i amb unxic d’esperit aventurer.Encara que, en el cas delsfotògrafs que van comen-çar a dedicar-se a fer fotosper a diaris i revistes, ve-ien la seva feina simple-ment com un ofici més.Cap d’ells es va fer ric isempre van estar mal pa-gats. Exactament igualque ara.

Amb aquest esperitdesmitificador i ambl’ànim de ser al més ex-haustiu possible, el llibreReporters gràfics. Barce-lona 1900-1939, repartiten dos volums titulats Ofi-

ci i Kiosk, explica la histò-ria de les primeres dèca-des del fotoperiodisme a laciutat. Editat conjunta-ment per l’Ajuntament deBarcelona i l’Arxiu Nacio-nal de Catalunya, el treballés una iniciativa de l’Ob-servatori de la Vida Quoti-diana, un grup d’expertsen ciències socials queporten a terme investiga-cions amb el suport d’ar-tistes visuals, sempre a laciutat de Barcelona.

En aquest cas, ha estatun equip de quatre perso-nes –l’antropòleg AndrésAntebi, l’historiador Pablo

González Morandi, la pe-riodista i comissària d’ex-posicions de fotografia Te-resa Ferré Panisello, i eldissenyador gràfic RogerAdam– el que ha portat aterme aquest estudi des del’any 2010.

Conscients que no exis-tia una història exhausti-va dels pioners del fotope-riodisme centrat exclusi-vament en la ciutat (enca-ra que sí que s’han fet estu-dis d’àmbit català en duesexposicions, amb el catà-leg corresponent fet perJaume Fabre, a la Virrei-na), els autors s’han apro-

ximat al tema des d’unpunt de vista interdiscipli-nari i amb la voluntat dedescobrir nous autors i as-pectes que donin pas a no-ves investigacions. “Cre-iem que el llibre aportauna visió de contingut glo-bal que mostra els fotope-riodistes, no com a genissolitaris, sinó com gentque té un ofici, amb tot elcontext de les publica-cions per a les quals treba-llaven –afirma Andrés An-tebi– Era un ofici lluny del’art. L’únic factor avant-guardista de la professióera que estaven al dia de

tots els avenços tècnics.Era un ofici, a més, que noes pot separar de l’adveni-ment de la cultura de mas-ses. Fins ara les aproxima-cions a tots aquests fotò-grafs eren massa artísti-ques, quan ells mai t’hau-rien dit que una foto sevaera una obra d’art.”

Amb una recerca ques’ha fonamentat bàsica-ment en el buidatge d’ar-xius fotogràfics, tant pú-blics com privats, els vo-lums recuperen l’obra delsfotògrafs més coneguts(no hi falten Carlos Pérezde Rozas, Josep Brangulí,

Frederic Ballell, Merletti,Agustí Centelles i AdolfMas) i en descobreix d’al-tres de més oblidats comara Josep Maria Sagarra,Pablo Luis Torrents i Jo-sep Gaspar.

Nova aportació historiogràfica de l’Observatori de la Vida Quotidiana

l projecte Simfonovaés com una onadaque arrossega el pú-

blic a cada nova represen-tació. Diumenge va arribaral torn a l’Auditori de Bar-celona on, per segon cop,van fer el ple. D’entrada,sobre l’escenari, impres-siona el desplegament demúsics, entre instrumen-tistes i cantaires, que ocu-pen tot l’espai. Després,apareix el periodista Mar-cel Gorgori, ànima del pro-jecte, i posa tothom enmarxa, talment l’aprenentde bruixot de Dukas, perdonar forma a aquest es-pectacle d’esperit divulga-tiu. La premissa? L’òpera ila música simfònica sónpresents a les nostres vi-des sense que ens n’ado-nem. “La música té unaforça extraordinària i la re-cordem”, diu Gorgori, fentreferència a l’ús dels hitsals anuncis televisius, peròtambé a les pel·lícules.

sa Gorgori–, però si l’ente-nem ens agrada més.” Peraixò, convida a fer un es-forç per anar més enllà dela mera melodia d’anunci iaprofundir. Així va trans-formar l’obertura de Lo-hengrin –unes notes insí-pides en un film–, en unesclat de bellesa, gràcies al’explicació de la construc-ció de la peça.

Gorgori també vol lluitarcontra els tòpics (l’òperaés només per als rics, etc),i per això demostra que enla lírica també hi ha can-çons protesta, com el Vapensiero i el Nabucco. “Vis-ca Catalunya!”, es va sentiral final de la interpretacióentre el públic. Entre lespeces més aplaudides hiva haver el “Quando me’nvo...”, de La Bohème, ambels quatre solistes junts(X.Aguilar, S.Blanch, J.Fadói M. Ortega), el Zadok, ThePriest, de Händel, amb l’Or-questra Barcelona Filhar-monia i els cors a tot drap;el ”O mio babbino caro”, dePuccini (deliciosa SaraBlanch), i el final apoteòsicamb un brindis poc cone-gut, el “Bevo al tuo frescosorriso”, de Puccini.

The resolution that was the objectof the blocking attempt in the Cata-lan parliament will be voted on andpassed, because it has the supportof an absolute majority of thechamber. The attempts, both insideand outside the chamber, to block oreliminate it are nothing more thananti-democratic strategies born outof the belief that the majority can beoverruled, as happened with theStatute on Autonomy. The processwill continue and, as it does, it willcontinue to be the object of threats,intimidation and bad practice.
