Question of the Week

Question for Children: How can you share what you have received from Jesus with others this week? Question for Youth: Each week, when we celebrate the Holy Eucharist we are asked to “do this in remembrance of me”. How else do you acknowledge the importance of Jesus in your life? Through prayer? Through the ways that you treat others? Question for Adults: How can you prepare yourself to be nourished by Jesus in the Eucharist this week?

Jesus twice said: “Do this in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25). This is the good news of today’s solemnity. Like the five thousand hungry souls, we are fed by our Lord. This is not food that satisfies for only a short time, until the next meal. It is food that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in much the same way as Melchizedek did when he brought bread and wine to the returning Abraham. As children of God’s reign, we are blessed to be able to receive and share God’s gift. And we do so in the way most appropriate to our state in life—as parents, children, husbands, wives, or religious. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

ALIMENTADOS POR EL SEÑOR Las palabras de Jesús “Esto es mi cuerpo” y “Este cáliz es la nueva alianza que se sella con mi sangre” fueron sólo parte de su consagración. Jesús dijo dos veces: “Hagan esto en memoria mía” (1 Corintios 11:24, 25).

Esta es la buena nueva de la solemnidad de hoy. Como las cinco mil almas hambrientas, somos alimentados por nuestro Señor. Este alimento no satisface sólo por un corto período de tiempo, hasta la próxima comida. Es un alimento que dura y nos cambia. Es un alimento para compartir de la misma forma que lo hizo Melquisedec cuando presentó pan y vino a Abram a su regreso. Como hijos del reino de Dios, tenemos la dicha de poder recibir y compartir el regalo de Dios. The Key Ministry Team is in need of new team members This is a great opportunity for Stewardship by giving of your talents and keeping our Church facilities safe and secure. Responsibilities include opening and closing various

facilities throughout the Church campus. Facilities are the Church, Parish Center, Cabrini Hall, and the Modulars. Opening for scheduled events is no earlier than 5:00 pm and returning to close no later than 9:00 pm (Monday thru Friday) along with events scheduled on Saturday and Sunday. Each key minister is scheduled only 1 week every 6 to 7 weeks. If interested, please call Peggy at 909.797.2533 x222. Training will be given.

"And they shall name him Emmanuel, a name that means 'God is with us'" -Matthew 1:23. Reflection: In the midst of the abortion tragedy, the Church does not point fingers of condemnation. Rather, the Church extends hands of compassion and help, to lift up out of despair those who are tempted to abort their children. The Church informs her people of the many alternatives to abortion, and says "I am with you, and will enable you to say yes to life."

Prayer: Lord, so many are tempted to abort because they feel alone. May we reach out to them, that they may know that we and you are with them. Amen.

2016 Spring Combined Collection

In this the Year of Mercy, we are reminded money must serve, not rule!

The Pope asks us all to help, respect, and promote mercy: “Not to share one’s wealth with others is to steal from them and to take away their livelihood. It is not our own goods which we hold . . .”

Following Pope Francis’ message we are called to be the Light of Hope! We can do that in such a beautiful way each spring by supporting a special collection known as the Spring Combined Collection. Our efforts to reach out to parishioners for support of several worthy causes through one big collection on this weekend, May 28-29, helps us to live out the Spiritual Works of Mercy and give to something bigger than ourselves. The four worthy ministries who benefit are:

¡En este Año de Misericordia, se nos recuerda que el dinero nos sirve, no nos rige!

El Papa nos pide a todos nuestra ayuda, respeto, y promover misericordia:

“El no compartir nuestra riqueza con los demás es robarles y quitarles su sustento. No son

nuestros bienes los cuales retenemos…” ¡Siguiendo el mensaje de Papa Francisco estamos llamados a ser La Luz de la Esperanza! Podemos hacerlo de una manera tan hermosa cada primavera apoyando una colección especial conocida como Colección Combinada Primaveral. Nuestros esfuerzos al exhortar a los feligreses a que apoyen varias causas nobles a través de una colección enorme éste fin de semana, 28-29 de mayo, ayudará a que todos realizemos las Obras Espirituales de Misericordia y así dar a algo más enorme que nosotros mismos. Los cuatro ministerios meritorios que se beneficiarían son:
