Comenzamos definiendo el trmino aparejo y sus diferentes tipos:

Por aparejose entiende: la disposicin y trabazn que adquieren

los materiales en la construccin de los muros y fachadas de un edificio.

Segn el material empleado los aparejos pueden clasificarse como: aparejos

depiedra o ladrillo y, segn la disposicin que adquieren en cada una de

estas categoras obtienen una subclasificacin que los identifica.

Aparejos de piedra: stos pueden ser Regulares o Irregulares.

- Aparejos de piedra regu lares: Se entiende por aparejo

de piedra regular aquel tipo de aparejo cuyas piedras

estn escuadradas, es decir, todas las piedras que

conforman el muro estn talladas a escuadra y mantienen

las mismas dimensiones y grosor, siendo prcticamente

idnticas. Este tipo de aparejo se llama en sillares,

siendo cada una de esas piedras un sillar. Tambin es

conocido este aparejo como de cantera. Cuando este

tipo de aparejos son de un tamao pequeo se les llama

sillarejo.

Tomando las medidas romanas, un sillar grande deba medir unmetro de altura; medio metro los sillares medios y unos diez centmetros

aquellos sillares pequeos o sillarejo.

Segn la disposicin que adquieran los sillares, stos pueden

catalogarse de la siguiente manera:

- Sillares Isdomo (opus isodomom en Grecia y Roma):

cuando todas las hiladas de sillares tienen la misma

altura.

Aparejo Isodomo.

- Sillares oblicuos: cuando los sillares tienen forma de

rombo.

- Sillares reticulados: Cuando el paramento ofrece un

tablero en forma de red.

- Sillares en forma de Hojas de Helecho u opus spicatum

(procedencia romana): Cuando las hiladas de sillares

superiores toman una posicin oblicua con respecto al de

- Sillar almohadillado: Es cuando las lneas de unin

entre los sillares aparecen hundidas, resaltando el sillar

en su parte central, como si fuera una almohadilla. Suele

emplearse como recurso decorativo en las fachadas

principales en los edificios adquiriendo diferentes

variaciones como achaflanadas (ms comunes), punta de

diamante, rstico, vernculo, etc.

Aparejo en Punta de Diamante.

- Aparejos de piedra Irregulares: Son irregulares aquellos

paramentos que se han dispuesto de manera irregular,

generalmente a mano, con una definicin e imagenexterna irregular (opus incertum romano), este tipo de

aparejo o paramento se conoce como mampostera .

Tambin hay una variedad en la que, el paramento en su

parte externa tiene una disposicin regular pero su

interior es un muro de mampostera, irregular. Esta

variedad recibe el nombre griego de emplecton.

Al igual que los sillares, la mampostera tambin tiene diferentes

catalogaciones segn la disposicin de sus materiales:

Mampostera.

- Mampostera ordinaria: cuando est compuesta de cal y

canto.

- Mampostera seca: cuando no tiene cal o cemento.

- Mampostera concertada: cuando las piedras estn

encajadas de forma que ofrecen una imagen regular.

- Mampostera poligonal: cuando las piedras ofrecen una

forma continua de polgonos en el paramento mural.

Aparejos de ladrillo: Este tipo de paramento realizado en cermica,

ladrillo, barro cocido, tiene un formato diseado especficamente para unirse

enjarjes o uniones entre ellos suele ser muy rgida.

Algunos de los principales tipos de aparejos en ladrillo son:

- Aparejo a sogas: Cuando los costados del muro estn

formados por las sogas del ladrillo o la parte ms larga

del mismo. Es el ms utilizado en las fachadas de ladrillo

visto.

Aparejo a Sogas.

- Aparejo a tizn: Cuando los costados del muro estn

formados por los tizones del ladrillo o la parte ms corta

del mismo. Se suele emplear en los muros que soportan

cargas estructurales.

Aparejo a Tizn.

- Aparejo ingls: Se alternan hiladas de sogas con otra

de tizones.

Aparejo ingls

- Aparejo en panderete: Suele se el empleado para

tabiques. Cada ladrillo soporta dos ladrillos en su hilada

superior.

Aparejo en Panderete.

- Aparejo palomero: Similar al anterior pero dejando

hueco o un espacio entre los ladrillos horizontales. Suele

emplearse para tabiques que necesiten ventilacin de la

- Aparejo en soga y tizn: Es el empleado en la

arquitectura hispanomusulmana alternando una soga y

un tizn (diatnico) o una soga y dos tizones (flamenco).

Por Argamasa entendemos: Un tipo de mortero (mezcla de

conglomerantes inorgnicos, agua y ridos que sirven para pegar

materiales), compuesto de cal, arena y agua que se empleaba para unir losmateriales que conforman un paramento mural.

Por Adobese entiende: la mezcla de arcilla (barro cocido), arena y

paja, moldeada a modo de ladrillo y secada al sol que sirve para la

construccin de muros.

Muro de adobe (Cceres).

El Tapialfue empleado principalmente en la cuenca mediterrnea y

consiste en una antigua tcnica constructiva fabricada con tierra arcillosa

compactada a golpes mediante un pisn y empleando para su sujecin un

encofrado por lo general de madera.

Un encofradoes: un sistema de moldes temporales o permanentes

que se utilizan para dar forma al hormign u otros materiales similares como

el tapial antes de fraguar.
