The people standing, the Celebrant says

Blessed be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

People And blessed be his kingdom, now and for ever.

Amen.

The Celebrant may say

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and

the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you,

The Liturgy of the Word The Collect of the Day

Celebrant The Lord be with you.

People And also with you.

Celebrant Let us pray.

The Celebrant continues

Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants

grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory

of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to

worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and

bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father;

who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for

ever and ever. Amen. The First Reading Isaiah 6:1-8

Reader A reading from the book of Isaiah.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a

throne, high and lofty; and the hem of his robe filled the

temple. Seraphs were in attendance above him; each had six

wings: with two they covered their faces, and with two they

covered their feet, and with two they flew. And one called to

another and said:

Page 5: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;

the whole earth is full of his glory.”

The pivots on the thresholds shook at the voices of those who

called, and the house filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is

me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live

among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the

King, the Lord of hosts!”

Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding a live coal that

had been taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. The seraph

touched my mouth with it and said: “Now that this has

touched your lips, your guilt has departed and your sin is

blotted out.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said,

“Here am I; send me!”

Reader The Word of the Lord.

People Thanks be to God.

Psalm 29 (read responsively by full verse)

1 Ascribe to the LORD, you gods, *

ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his Name; *

worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters;

the God of glory thunders; *

the LORD is upon the mighty waters.

4 The voice of the LORD is a powerful voice; *

the voice of the LORD is a voice of splendor.

5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedar trees; *

the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon;

6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, *

and Mount Hermon like a young wild ox.

7 The voice of the LORD splits the flames of fire;

the voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; *

the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

8 The voice of the LORD makes the oak trees writhe *

and strips the forests bare.

9 And in the temple of the LORD *

all are crying, "Glory!"

10 The LORD sits enthroned above the flood; *

the LORD sits enthroned as King for evermore.

11 The LORD shall give strength to his people; *

the LORD shall give his people the blessing of peace.

So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh,

to live according to the flesh-- for if you live according to the

flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the

deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the

Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a

spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a

spirit of adoption. When we cry, "Abba! Father!" it is that

very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children

of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint

heirs with Christ-- if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we

may also be glorified with him.

There was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.

He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know

that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can

do these signs that you do apart from the presence of God.”

Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the

kingdom of God without being born from above.” Nicodemus

said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown

old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and

be born?” Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can

enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and

Spirit. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of

the Spirit is spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you,

‘You must be born from above.’ The wind blows where it

chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know

where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone

who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can

these things be?” Jesus answered him, “Are you a teacher of

Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?

“Very truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify

to what we have seen; yet you do not receive our testimony. If

I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe,

how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? No

one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended

from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the

serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that

everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have

eternal life.

“Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn

the world, but in order that the world might be saved through

him.

The Sermon The Rev. Teri Daily

The Nicene Creed BCP 358

We believe in one God,

the Father, the Almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,

of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the only Son of God,

eternally begotten of the Father,

God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made,

of one Being with the Father.

Through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation

he came down from heaven:

by the power of the Holy Spirit

he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,

and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death and was buried.

Page 13: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

On the third day he rose again

in accordance with the Scriptures;

he ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son.

With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.

He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayers of the People BCP 387

Deacon or Priest says

Let us pray for the Church and for the world.

Intercessor continues

Grant, Almighty God, that all who confess your Name may be

united in your truth, live together in your love, and reveal your

glory in the world.

We remember this Sunday in the Anglican cycle of prayer

the Anglican Church of Mexico.

Page 15: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

We give thanks for our sister faith communities in the River

Valley, especially the Welcome Hill Church of Christ and the East

Point Baptist Church.

Silence

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer.

Guide the people of this land, and of all the nations, in the ways of

justice and peace; that we may honor one another and serve the

common good.

Silence

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer.

Give us all a reverence for the earth as your own creation, that we

may use its resources rightly in the service of others and to your

honor and glory.

Silence

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer.

Bless all whose lives are closely linked with ours, and grant that

we may serve Christ in them, and love one another as he loves us.

We pray for those who have birthdays this week, especially Tom

Casner and Ken Futterer.

We pray for those who are celebrating anniversaries this week,

especially Joy & Steve Pohl and Cindy Lenk & Frank Wimer.

Page 16: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer.

Comfort and heal all those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit; give

them courage and hope in their troubles, and bring them the joy of

your salvation.

We pray especially for Miguel, Jon & Pam, Catherine, Maria,

Kaylynn, Inette, the Hlass family, the Phillips family, Tony,

Michael, Tom, and all who have contracted the Covid-19 virus,

and those who have lost loved ones in the pandemic.

We pray for those expecting a child, especially Htee Hsee & Po Tu

Tu, Beth McGregor & Michael Jacobides, and Thaw & Blut Soe.

We pray also for those serving in the military, especially Brian,

Sarah, Cameron, Cody, and Adam.

Silence

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer.

We commend to your mercy all who have died, especially Tom

Hlass and Will Phillips, and those who have died from the novel

coronavirus or racial violence, that your will for them may be

fulfilled; and we pray that we may share with all your saints in

your eternal kingdom.

Silence

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer.

The Celebrant adds this concluding Collect.

Almighty and eternal God, ruler of all things in heaven and

earth: Mercifully accept the prayers of your people, and

Page 17: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

strengthen us to do your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Confession of Sin BCP 360

The Deacon or Celebrant says

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

Silence may be kept.

Minister and People

Most merciful God,

we confess that we have sinned against you

in thought, word, and deed,

by what we have done,

and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart;

we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.

For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,

have mercy on us and forgive us;

that we may delight in your will,

and walk in your ways,

to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Page 18: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

The Bishop, when present, or the Priest, stands and says

Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins

through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and

by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen.

The Peace (all standing)

Celebrant The peace of the Lord be always with you.

People And also with you.

The Ministers and People greet one another in the name of the

Lord.

The Great Thanksgiving, Prayer C

The people remain standing. The Celebrant, whether bishop or

priest, faces them and sings or says

The Lord be with you.

People And also with you.

Celebrant Lift up your hearts.

People We lift them to the Lord.

Celebrant Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Then, facing the Holy Table, the Celebrant proceeds

God of all power, Ruler of the Universe, you are worthy of glory

and praise.

Glory to you for ever and ever.

At your command all things came to be: the vast expanse

interstellar space, galaxies, suns, the planets in their courses, and

this fragile earth, our island home.

By your will they were created and have their being.

From the primal elements you brought forth the human race, and

blessed us with memory, reason, and skill. You made us the rulers

of creation. But we turned against you, and betrayed your trust;

and we turned against one another.

Have mercy, Lord, for we are sinners in your sight.

Again and again, you called us to return. Through prophets and

sages you revealed your righteous Law. And in the fullness of time

you sent your only Son, born of a woman, to fulfill your Law, to

open for us the way of freedom and peace.

By his blood, he reconciled us.

By his wounds, we are healed.

And therefore we praise you, joining with the heavenly chorus,

with prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and with all those in every

Page 20: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

generation who have looked to you in hope, to proclaim with them

your glory, in their unending hymn:

Celebrant and People

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory,

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the Highest.

The people stand or kneel.

Then the Celebrant continues

And so, Father, we who have been redeemed by him, and made a

new people by water and the Spirit, now bring before you these

gifts. Sanctify them by your Holy Spirit to be the Body and Blood

of Jesus Christ our Lord.

On the night he was betrayed he took bread, said the blessing,

broke the bread, and gave it to his friends, and said, "Take, eat:

This is my Body, which is given for you. Do this for the

remembrance of me."

After supper, he took the cup of wine, gave thanks, and said,

"Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the new Covenant,

which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me."

Remembering now his work of redemption, and offering to you

this sacrifice of thanksgiving,

We celebrate his death and resurrection,

as we await the day of his coming.

Lord God of our Fathers: God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; God

and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ: Open our eyes to see your

hand at work in the world about us. Deliver us from the

presumption of coming to this Table for solace only, and not for

Page 21: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

strength; for pardon only, and not for renewal. Let the grace of this

Holy Communion make us one body, one spirit in Christ, that we

may worthily serve the world in his name.

Risen Lord, be known to us in the breaking of the Bread.

Accept these prayers and praises, Father, through Jesus Christ our

great High Priest, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, your

Church gives honor, glory, and worship, from generation to

generation. AMEN.

And now, as our Savior

Christ has taught us,

we are bold to say,

People and Celebrant

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.

Page 22: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

The Communion

The Celebrant breaks the consecrated Bread.

Then is said

Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us;

Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia.

Facing the people, the Celebrant says the following Invitation

The Gifts of God for the People of God. Take them in

remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on him in your

hearts by faith, with thanksgiving.

Wherever you are in your journey of faith,

you are welcome in this place; you are welcome at Christ’s table.

Communion Hymn Hymnal 367

“Round the Lord in glory seated”

Page 24: Trinity Sunday All Saints’ Episcopal Church Holy Eucharist ...

2

After Communion, the Celebrant says

Let us pray.

Celebrant and People BCP 365

Eternal God, heavenly Father,

you have graciously accepted us as living members

of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ,

and you have fed us with spiritual food

in the Sacrament of his Body and Blood.

Send us now into the world in peace,

and grant us strength and courage

to love and serve you

with gladness and singleness of heart;

through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Blessing

The Bishop when present, or the Priest, gives the blessing

May God the Holy Trinity make you strong in faith and love,

defend you on every side, and guide you in truth and peace; and

the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy

Spirit, be among you, and remain with you always. Amen.

The Recessional “Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr” Andreas Niklaus Vetter

The Prayer Attributed to St. Francis

Celebrant and People

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is

hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where

there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where

there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where

there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to

be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is

in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we

are born to eternal life. Amen.

The Dismissal

The Deacon, or the Celebrant dismisses the people with these or

similar words

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.

People Thanks be to God.
