General Information
● Essential Eligibility Qualification(A) Candidates should have thorough knowledge of Hindi (Devnagri script). If the candidate has not
passed High School or equivalent examination in Hindi, he/she has has to clear an examconducted by the Registrar, Department Examination Govt. of U. P. within 3 years of joining.
(B) A candidate must have passed :(i) Three years Diploma examination in Electrical Engineering awarded by Pravidhik Shiksha
Parishad, Uttar Pradesh OR a Diploma, equivalent thereto, recognized by the StateGovernment OR
(ii) Three years All India Diploma Examination in Electrical Engineering conducted by the AllIndia Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India OR
(iii) Diploma Examination in Electrical Engineering conducted by any of the Universities inIndia incorporated by an Act of the Central/State legislature.
Note : Diploma received through Distance Learning Education will not be eligible.
● Age(A) Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on stipulated date.(B) Relaxation in upper age limit :
(i) Apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act. 1961-Actual period, subject to maximumTwenty four months, (ii) SC, ST & OBC (non-creamy layer) of Uttar Pradesh domicile—5years, (iii) Ex-Servicemen who had served a minimum of 5 years in Armed Forces of India(Completed service years + Three years), (iv) Dependents of freedom fighters—5 years.However, maximum age of a candidate availing all relaxations shall not exceed 55 years.
● Reservation(I) Reservation will be provided as per applicable Reservation rules to SC, ST and OBC (non-
creamy candidates who are original inhabitants of Uttar Pradesh (Domicile of Uttar pradeshonly).
(II) SC, ST and OBC of other states & OBC (coming under ‘creamy layer’ of U.P.) may apply asGeneral Category candidate.
(III) Horizontal reservation of 5% for ‘Ex-Servicemen (EXSM)’, 3% for ‘Physically-Handicapped(PH)’ and 2% for Dependent of Freedom Fighter (DFF) will be provided as per existing UPPCLorder.
● No Objection CertificateCandidate who are working with any State Govt./Central Govt./Semi-Govt./Govt. UndertakingOrganization, shall have to submit ‘NOC’ from their present Employer at the time of Joining.
● Examination Centre & Selection ProcessSelection Process will be based on Written Test only. Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held atAllahabad, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Kanpur, Bareilly, Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Meerutcities. Electricity Service Commission, however, have the right to cancel any of the ExaminationCity/ Centre and/or add some other cities/centres depending upon the response, administrativefeasibility, or any force-majeure conditions etc. The test shall be of 3-hour duration with total 200marks and shall comprise of total 200 questions, out of which 150 questions shall be from theDiploma level Engg. Branch syllabus for the Post applied, 20 questions of General Knowledge/

Awareness, 20 questions of Reasoning and 10 questions of General Hindi. Each correct answershall carry one mark each and each wrong answer shall carry additional negative mark of 0·25.The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the CBT.
* Candidate must carry (i) Admit Card, (ii) Passport Size Photogaph (Same as in the ApplicationForm) and (iii) A Valid Photo Identity Card such as Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, AadharCard, Pan Card or any other valid Photo Identity Proof (Same as mentioned in the ApplicationForm) while reporting for CBT and Interview.
* Candidates are required to maintain their Unique e-mail ID and Mobile number throughout theselection process.
* If at any stage, it is found that any information furnished in the online application is false /incorrect or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post applied, thecandidature will be treated as cancelled.
* Candidates having undergone apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act 1961, will begiven age relaxation and preference as per order of Hon’ble Supreme Court, in case, all otherrequisite parameters being the same.
● TrainingThe selected candidate has to undergo a training programme, for a period as decided by UPPCL. Onsuccessful completion of the training, the candidate shall be considered for absorption as per existingrules of UPPCL.
● TransparencyFor the complete transparency of the held CBT, the Electricity Service Commission shall arrange todisplay the answer-key for 3 days on the official website of UPPCL OR send the link on theirregistered E-mail, within 2 days of written exam, or at an earliest possible time. The candidate canlodge their protest against the answer-key online, if any, along with proper proof within 3 days fromthe last date of display, after which objections of any sort will not be entertained. Objections withoutproper proof will not be entertained. Electricity Service Commission will refer the cases to a panel ofexperts, whose decision shall be final.
● CharacterCandidate will have to produce character certificate issued from the Head of the last Institute attendedand also from two responsible/respectable persons who should not be his/her relatives at the time ofjoining.
● Marital StatusAny married male/female candidate having more than one wife/husband alive and female candidatewho is married to a person who has already one or more living wife, are Not Eligible to apply for thisposts.
