Introduction
Please take a few minutes to look through this Operating Guide so that you become familiar with yourAudio Connection Box and how to control its operatation.It is recommended that your Audio Connection Box be used when the ignition is turned on and theengine is running. If it is used at other times, care needs to be taken to avoid draining the battery.
This manual assumes that the Audio Connection Box is already installed in your vehicle. For assistancewith installation please refer to the installation guide.
Regarding the general use of the media player, related software like iTunes and your cars entertainmentsystem please consult the related operating manuals.
If you need any assistance in using this product, please contact your Renault dealer.

Introduction
Audio Connection Box supports all iPod generations correct at the time of print (June 2006) including the3
rd& 4
thgeneration, iPod Photo, iPod mini, iPod nano and the Fifth Generation models.
3rd
generation iPods cannot be charged with the Audio Connection Box.
The compatibility of all USB devices is not guaranteed.
Warning!
Do not connect or operate media players and devices to the Audio Connection Box whilst driving.
Using the original CD ChangerIf a CD changer is connected then the Audio Connection Box cannot be used.

Is your iPod player up-to-date?
Before you start, please check your player Firmware, and make sure it is upgraded to the latest version
available. For iPod firmware visit http://www.apple.com/support/ipod. Renault only guarantees correctAudio Connection Box functionality with the latest version of firmware.
We recommend setting up playlists on the player for easier navigation of music with the car radio orsteering wheel controls. To do so, please check the corresponding operating guide.
Selection of the media devices connected to the AudioConnection Box
Devices and priorities selection
Audio Connection Box automatically detects the iPod and the USB memory stick when connected to theinterface and selected as a source.
When both iPod and memory stick are connected USB has priority. To select the iPod, disconnect thememory stick and AUX in.
When both iPod and AUX IN are connected, AUX IN has priority.To select iPod, disconnect AUX IN.Warning, if the AUX IN extension remains connected, the iPod will remain paused.
When both USB and AUX IN are connected, to use AUX IN, disconnect the USB memory stick.
Playback control
Select CD Changer as a source on the head unit to start playback of the selected source device. To doso, select the CD changer as a source by pressing the source button (A) on the radio headunit. Displayshows then TRCD

Due to the different charactericteristic of the playback devices (players), there are slight differences inoperation. See device specific sections for details.
